I did a good bit of gaming last night.

Played some New Super Mario Bros with my friend's kid early in the evening. Then played some Black Ops online and then tried to clean up the last few achievements for X-Men Arcade. Have them all but the glitchy one for beating Magneto with all 6 characters that's not wanting to pop for me despite beating it him multiple times with everyone and doing the whole game with Cyclops to try to get it to pop as suggest on other sites. Still have 3 characters I haven't did the whole game with, guess I'll beat it with them and see if that gets it to pop. EDIT: Decided to try just fighting Magneto again, after doing it with Dazzler, Nightcrawler and Storm it popped this time. No idea what was different. *shrugs*

Also bought Limbo in the one day sale yesterday. Haven't played it yet.

I've had a ton of fun with New Super Mario Bros Wii with multiplayer. Its a ton of fun with multiple people. And alcohol
 
I don't remember when I fell asleep, but I didn't play any video games and was mad tired. Now I'm hittin' the books instead of getting twisted.

Yeah, it's a pretty fun game. Frustrating at times playing with a 5 year old as he gets in the way more than helps. But it seems better than the NSMB DS game in any case.

I'd like to play the Beta. I love the Gears games, but didn't care for the online much other than Horde.

But I'm interested to check out the third one since they added respawning to death match mode which was one of my main gripes about the multiplayer. Too much waiting around after dying when you suck like me! Especially when it gets down to 2 guys and they're on opposite ends of the map sneaking around.

But I've had it pre-ordered on Amazon for ages and don't care about the beta enough to preorder and cancel at Gamestop.

Yeah, honestly I didn't care too much for the DS game, but I really loved NSMB Wii. I played through the whole thing co-op and had a blast.

First Gears MP will always have a special place in my heart. ^___^

I like the improvements over Gears 2 this one has. Like matchmaking doesn't take eons, the controls are improved, the whole game feels faster.

I dig it lots. Definitely picking this up at launch.

Yeah, I was planning on buying Gears 3 at launch anyway, so the beta was a nice confirmation that my purchase would provide a bunch of online fun and was worth keeping my gold membership.

Joel, did you say mission 6 in Reach on Legendary was supposed to be difficult? I'm on 7 now and I didn't really have any super frustrating moments, though I could see people getting fucked up if they hadn't planned properly (or got luckly, like I did. :) ). I'm assuming the worst spot would be the landing on the corvette and initial entry?
 
I am totally buying Gears 3 at launch. Beg/steal/borrow a 360 if I don't have one by then.

Prolly buying friend's 360, so that's one route.

I don't remember numbering, but yeah, it was the initial entry into the Corvette and everything inside of it that fucked me up. Shit took me forever, that was the only part of the game on Legendary I really had problems with though, everything else was pretty par for the Legendary course.

Man, does anyone know how long this beta is running? I want to unlock everything it has to offer, but to do that I'm going to have to play 190ish matches.

There's a "played in week 1 of the beta" through "played through week 4" medals/achievements.

That shit really wasn't bad in Reach. Then again, I showed up with a laser sword. Killed the 2 elites that jumped up and out. Dropped in, found the hologram one, and used that to stalk/kill the remaining elites in the room. Grabbed the needle rifle, used that to clear the room and let Jorge in. Ended up in the control room with no laser sword, kept back in the hallway, sniping everything with the needle rifle, including the hunter with the laser sword. Picked up the new one, fought my way out. I used the last two hits from it to kill the first two white elites... grabbed a plasma cannon and backed off, circled the remaining while they focused on Jorge and hit them with some full charge blasts. It really wasn't that bad. :)
 
So regular Gears 3 Beta starts the 25th for us non-Bulletstorm players? That should be enough time to beat Portal 2.

I also only have my 360 for Gears 3 and possible Alan Wake 2, but if Wake 2 goes multi-plat I'm buying the Ps3 version.

The catch is that I could get Premonition with just the money I'm getting from RE5. For RE5 Gold I'd also have to use one of my GS giftcards.

See, the way it happened for you wasn't bad, but for me, I ended up getting annhiliated when I was in the larger area with the Engineer. For some reason I had three Elites that kept running up the stairs at me and every time they charged me I'd be able to take 1 out, maybe 2 and then I'd get killed. And I just got super stuck on that because of bad checkpointing.

I had a couple times where the checkpoint was kind of bad -- I thought I was screwed when all the white elites came out in the hangar --- I could kill one, maybe 2, but then my sword was done and my shields/life was almost nothing and I needed to bubble shield and run. I
