GGT 104 bought MK today and will trade it towards some other shitty game tomorrow

EDIT: I'm stopping for now.

First half of the game: Fantastic. Game of the Year material.

Past that half: What is this crap? It's like
Half Life 2. I wanted more Portal, not Half Life.
Some of the puzzles are just annoying and unfun.

I think I'm going to tryu to devote more time to MK, I really want to try to make it like MvC3 was for me (AKA my go to game). I need to try to get the special trophies.
I was gonna say -- isn't only Quan Chi and Cyber Sub-Zero? Unless you plan to use them, why bother unlocking before you go online? :)
Because I like to have every option available to me and I don't know how they play yet.
Haven't played Quan Chi yet, but Cyber Sub is pretty badass. Not good enough to be my main, but he's still good.
I just hope they don't plan to keep him as cyber sub-zero forever now. I know how MK loves to stay somewhat close to its own story in terms of characters ... for the most part.

Honestly, I don't know how much they will/can keep going forward from this game's story.

The end of the story mode leaves some serious problems.

Everyone is dead except Scorpion, Raiden, Quan Chi, Shinnok, Johnny Cage, and Sonya.
How's your online experience been, if you've taken it online?

I still can't get a jump down assassination on an elite, not even once. :(

... annnnnnd the first times the charm. ^_^
Where were you trying to do it?

Spoilers in a fighting game, lol.

MK games have had some great story spoilers. I know there are some from Deception that would've ruined Konquest mode.
They should put MK Trilogy on XBLA/PSN since UMK3 isn't up there anymore.
Isn't there a rumor that they'll be putting out an MK collection? Honestly, I wouldn't buy it, but I would probably play it at least once.
Where were you trying to do it?
Pillar of Autumn, of course; right at the beginning with Emile's "Race you to her." crap.
Tried a couple times in Nightfall, but that douchebag Jun started sniping people for no reason and kept alerting the elite.

Arcana Hearts looks solid, but I have enough fighters at the moment; also, it looks insanely complex during character choice.
Based off the gameplay videos I was checking out, I have to say I'd be a little annoyed at the "super" (?) animations don't change their palettes depending on your character's current color choice.

WHAT?! What the fuck is wrong with them? That's the best MK!

I believe they took it down because of Midway's licensing agreement with Microsoft was expiring

I'm guessing they'll introduce some new characters (because that worked out super well in the 3D games) and have you reclaim the souls of all of the Netherrealm zombies in story mode. Didn't this exact thing happen in the original timeline except that they were all Onaga's slaves instead of Quan Chi?

It seems like a lot of the same stuff happened, but earlier in the timeline.

I felt like I was watching Hot Tub Time Machine waiting for Jax to get his arms ripped off..and they didn't disappoint :D

They need to get that shit back up on there ... and PSN.

This is right -- it had something to do with licensing issues... I think because Midway went bankrupt and got sold off to WB, so the agreement between MS and Midway was no longer valid.

If you bought it though, you can still access it through your d/l history... you just can't buy it new.

Looks like The Last Guardian and ICO/SotC are now *officially* delayed with no update on an actual release window. :whee:

I never had the chance to get on XBLA, so therefore I will never be able to, which blows

If you could find one of those cards that target used to sell with a redemption code, that might be the only way to cop it now. Though it may tell you the code was invalid... not sure what would happen there, exactly.

Eh, it isn't bad; you can basically go to this site, choose the character you want to play as and it will make suggestions of which Arcana to use. Basically there are some options that work well for each character, of course you can pick the others if you want to screw around or try stuff, some of them seem kind of different or highly situational, you can look up what each Arcana does on that site too.

With regards to super animation palette swapping, do other fighting games do that? I can't name one that I've played, but maybe I just don't pay attention to it, haha.

I think I'll probably play some more AH3 tonight, maybe some Singularity too.

Not sure. SSF4 uses the 3D model in the super/ultra animation, so I think it's good. MvC3 is the same way... and even though haven't played yet, but I'm assuming MK changes the costume you're wearing during your xray animations.
The only current gen fighting game that I have (Tekken 6 and SC4 don't really have meter/supers... SC4 has the near death instant kills, but not really supers) is BlazBlue. Only Bang (that I can think of) has any sort of cinematic animation that doesn't use his character sprite... and when it does, it's black and white.
So I think Arcana Hearts 3 is the first game I've seen with the anime-ish artwork displaying during a cinematic super activation and it was weird, in the video I was watching, to see a random blue hair chick doing a super when the palette swap had the sprite as a blonde.

Hmmm, I didn't notice that and I was playing as a Weiss palette swap. Like not at all on the 1 bar special moves, and for the 3 bar Critical Heart I think I only did that once during training but I don't remember it seeming like my character was swapped out. Maybe what you saw was a character that has other characters come in as part of the Critical Heart?

I agree, but I do love me some MK2.

Apparently the price of MK went down on amazon so they are crediting me an additional $3.26. Nice.

Saki, I think. Palette swap has her as blonde.
Animation for her super shows her as blue hair instead.

Ok, so you just mean the background image, I thought you meant the actual character sprite was changing color. Ya I might have seen that, but I don't think I would have noticed that if you didn't point it out, I think during story mode the character only appears as the default colors as well even if you picked a palette swap. Fairly sure most 2D games do that though since they don't want to redraw the character for every palette swap in the game (I want to say that happens in BlazBlue's story mode for sure, like during matches you are the palette swap but during the story sequences you aren't).

My point exactly. I played online first thing. The earlier it was the better it was. The later it was the worst the lag was.

Yeah, I've noticed the lag is very hit or miss. IMO MK is a bit more forgiving with lag than MVC3 is though due to the pacing differences.
Okay, just stop this pathetic attempt to convince me you weren't all about the sexy priests last night. You fucking dumb!
If Vick becomes the Madden 12 coverboy, might as well rename the game "Michael's Vick Ultimate Dog Showdown"
