GGT 136 is ready for the 3rd Strike!
Sure, if I pay off my credit card by then. Not buying it until I have a PC that can run it.
By that time it'll be $5 ... good call.
I just can't get into 3rd Strike. All the character designs are so fucking ugly. Though to be fair it's a problem I've had with every Street Fighter. It's just especially bad in 3rd Strike.
You're just like icebeast! :nottalking:
Sooooo close to the end of Catherine! The story is soooo good!
Beat it last night. Loved it.

Will for sure buy it but when it drops since I'm in no rush to play it again. After playing it I highly hope that Atlus no longer makes persona games ( unless in need of money ) and let's the team do awesome shit like cathrine.

Plus Orlando is a fuckin badass

While the character designs might not rank up there with an Arksys game like GG or BB (for those who prefer anime style), 3rd Strike has nice sprites... it's superior to SF4 in almost every facet. :)

I say who gives a fuck, as long as the characters are fun to play. Good character design is just a small bonus.

Hugo could be fun as all hell to play and so could El Fuerte. I wouldn't know. I can't get past the aesthetics of the characters. :lol

Now, there are some characters I like playing who have decent design, but not exactly my cup of tea (Tsubaki, for example), that are fun as hell though.

Oh don't get me wrong. The animation is beautiful. Unlike the terrible art style of SF4, SF3 uses gorgeous sprites. I just wish all the characters, except for like 2, weren't ugly as sin.

I can't play a game that doesn't have designs that are attractive to me. It could be the best playing game in the world, but if the design of it disgusts me then I want nothing to do with it.
The majority of the GGT; I know whoknows, you and ihadfg are buying it day 1.
I've had the Augmented Edition preordered from Gamestop for awhile. Never played the originals, but I love this style RPG & I love the setting if the game & its mechanics.

I'm getting 3rd Strike also, but on 360.
I love the art style of all the SF games. /shrug
Both of you are weird for different reasons.
i wanna skype with you $$$$$$s
Noted.

You and icebeast must have been separated at birth, because he is the exact same way.
I don't care about spoilers, I just hate Rolento.
Yeah, fuck him.

Gross.
Drinking! Let's fuck
Shit yeah.
ill fuck your fucking brains out
Oh baby, keep talking dirty.
Probably, but it looks like the GGT is more interested in 3s.
I've counted six of us getting it day one. What's the count on people posting in the GGT currently?

I think we're winning.
I'm also getting 3s though, so I'm on the winning side regardless.
I swing both ways.

That's a good start. Anything else? For MvC2 there were a bunch of good beginner concept/basics wikis/videos.

There's a guy who put together a ton of videos on it... c-royd -- RoydRoydRoyd on youtube, I think.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=28smAMxd63U

Sometimes he's funny as hell too: "The reason I picked Akuma here is mainly because I like watching him take damage -- I hate that character."
There's not much info on 3s, sadly, so it's going to be a learning experience for us newbies. Frost's post is what i was going to show you, but this is something I came across in my search for 3s info:

Protip: MP+MK (focus attack in SF4 is how you perform a universal overhead [UOH])
It makes watching the first C-Royd video more meaningful if you know that... I kept thinking it was just a certain move characters had (up-forward+fierce is what Ken's looked like)... it will make using his video more easy to understand it's "combo -> FA -> super" essentially. There's just no charging or dash cancel, it seems.

It was more for bluescrote -- I just quoted you since the post was after mine and it was continuing the "beginner 3s" stuff.

Oh, ok, I was about to say... :whistle2:s

Might as well post some random knowledge I have stirring around in my head.

High parry = Parries high and mid attacks.
Low parry = Parries only low attacks.

MK + MP = Universal Overhead, can be used as a meaty on wake-up to link into super for some characters.

Kara = Japanese for empty, is a glitch that lets you cancel the start-up of a move. It's usually used for advancing a character's attack or increasing throw range.

Hit confirms = Visually acknowledging an attack is hitting so you can do your combo, cancel into super, or whatever.

Throws = Pressing LP + LK at the same time, can be tech'd the same way, crouch teching is not advice in 3s because you get a low jab and that can be parried.

Option selects = Putting in multiple inputs and letting the game engine decide what is the best outcome depending on the situation. Like CRoyd's new video on the D.E.D. option select: http://shoryuken.com/2011/08/21/c-royd-teaches-3rd-strike-the-d-e-d-option-select/ There's plenty of option selects in both 3s and AE.

Taunts = In this game, taunts actually do something, here's a list of what they do for each character: http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Street_Fighter_3:_3rd_Strike#Personal_Action

Stun = In this game, there's a stun meter (thank god) and unlike AE, you can continue to juggle the opponent while they're stunned.

Super Jump = In this game, every character has a super jump by quickly tapping down then up in the direction of your choice. It's basically how you do super jumps in marvel, with viper/ibuki in AE, etc.

Quick Stand = Tap down when you're about to hit the ground. You'll roll backward and stand up faster, but you cannot do it in every situation.

Links = A combo in which you time successive attacks perfectly. In other words, you have to wait for the previous attack to recover before you can start up the next attack.

Cancel = You're canceling the animation of one move into another.

Chains = Works like combos in marvel where each move cancels into another successively.

Chun-Li = Is a bitch.
Which route are you going?
I was actually just being true to what I personally felt which kept me dead center of the morality meter until night 6 when I ended up diving into the deep blue side when I was asked the questions at the landing.

I'm at night 8 now and I want to finish it off but I don't have time right now. I thought night 7 would've been the last. Also, I'm having a problem... I used a walkthrough for helping the guys at the bar with their problems but none of them are there on night 8 and
Dennis died
. Wtf?

Okay, so I just got back from Wal-Mart and the manager wouldn't honor the price of the "clearanced" PC that I was going to get because he said it was just misplaced in the jumble of remodeling. He offered me http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883147833
for $249, though and said that I could come back and get it anytime and he would honor it.

It's down an HDMI port, wireless, and 250 gigs. Is that still a good price?

If you just want a PC to browse the internet, then yah sure it's a decent price. However if you plan to upgrade and play games on it? Save your money on an actual gaming system.

Just remember that HP is made with terrible internal products. I would much rather get an Acer over an HP, and I hate Acer products.

It'd be my new "everything" system. I'd be using it for school, surfing, and games. I'd be up for buying a new graphics card and anything else I'd need to get for it. I'm not planning on playing anything too powerful, just Batman: AA, Fallout New Vegas, and some older stuff.

Edit: I've also had some problems with HP (their fans fuck up constantly with me), but I think this may be cheap enough that it's a good deal.

I wouldn't buy it, HP shit sucks horribly. I will never, ever buy another HP computer. Got boned by them twice (once on a desktop and once on a laptop). Never again.

Save yourself the headache.
just build a damn desktop for $600 and go play Battlefield 3.
I don't want to do either of those.

Battlefield 3 especially.

First off, that HP is not upgradeable.

Second, you have a two options if you want to do PC gaming of the caliber that you are asking. Spend the money and buy a kick ass laptop that will cost you $1100-$1500 or build your own desktop PC for $500-$800 that will own the laptop in terms of performance. Any pre-built desktop will run you $900+ for the same performance as a diy built PC.

Best thing do for now? Buy a netbook for around $250 and save up later for a PC.
my HP laptop died, but it lasted a few years.

pretty much all laptops die within that span, keep that in mind.
My Vaio is about 3 years old and still going strong

And I use it pretty much all the time.

My HP laptop is on it's last legs now. I bought it close to 4 years ago and it was a trooper right up until about 6 months ago when the fan went out and multiple other things started happening. It'll randomly just fuck up at doing basic shit. Both Geek Squad and 2 other local shops told me I'd just be better off buying something new instead of paying them $500 or more to fix it.

Dawg, that is a Sony product. This will either break day 2 of owning it or never break at all. It is a toss up but man I can never justify the price of a Vaio despite it being an awesome product.
