Protip: MP+MK (focus attack in SF4 is how you perform a universal overhead [UOH])
It makes watching the first C-Royd video more meaningful if you know that... I kept thinking it was just a certain move characters had (up-forward+fierce is what Ken's looked like)... it will make using his video more easy to understand it's "combo -> FA -> super" essentially. There's just no charging or dash cancel, it seems.
Might as well post some random knowledge I have stirring around in my head.
High parry = Parries high and mid attacks.
Low parry = Parries only low attacks.
MK + MP = Universal Overhead, can be used as a meaty on wake-up to link into super for some characters.
Kara = Japanese for empty, is a glitch that lets you cancel the start-up of a move. It's usually used for advancing a character's attack or increasing throw range.
Hit confirms = Visually acknowledging an attack is hitting so you can do your combo, cancel into super, or whatever.
Throws = Pressing LP + LK at the same time, can be tech'd the same way, crouch teching is not advice in 3s because you get a low jab and that can be parried.
Option selects = Putting in multiple inputs and letting the game engine decide what is the best outcome depending on the situation. Like CRoyd's new video on the D.E.D. option select:
http://shoryuken.com/2011/08/21/c-royd-teaches-3rd-strike-the-d-e-d-option-select/ There's plenty of option selects in both 3s and AE.
Taunts = In this game, taunts actually do something, here's a list of what they do for each character:
http://wiki.shoryuken.com/Street_Fighter_3:_3rd_Strike#Personal_Action
Stun = In this game, there's a stun meter (thank god) and unlike AE, you can continue to juggle the opponent while they're stunned.
Super Jump = In this game, every character has a super jump by quickly tapping down then up in the direction of your choice. It's basically how you do super jumps in marvel, with viper/ibuki in AE, etc.
Quick Stand = Tap down when you're about to hit the ground. You'll roll backward and stand up faster, but you cannot do it in every situation.
Links = A combo in which you time successive attacks perfectly. In other words, you have to wait for the previous attack to recover before you can start up the next attack.
Cancel = You're canceling the animation of one move into another.
Chains = Works like combos in marvel where each move cancels into another successively.
Chun-Li = Is a bitch.

There's not much info on 3s, sadly, so it's going to be a learning experience for us newbies. Frost's post is what i was going to show you, but this is something I came across in my search for 3s info:
There's a guy who put together a ton of videos on it... c-royd -- RoydRoydRoyd on youtube, I think.

Sometimes he's funny as hell too: "The reason I picked Akuma here is mainly because I like watching him take damage -- I hate that character."
