GGT 156 Once Again Flirts With Disaster.

Yay! I'm back, kinda.
Hard drive failure, again.
I should be getting my new one in the mail today. Managed to find a 1TB Western Digital Caviar Green on amazon for about 80 bucks. Not terrible, really. At least, not as bad as replacing the same ones I used to have.
For now, I'm using an Ubuntu Live Disc.
Soon enough, I'll be back on that Skyzzle!
 
Yeah, $80 isn't bad after the Thailand flooding. I bought a 1 TB Seagate for $45 from Amazon last December, now that same drive is $150 on Newegg. :puke:
 
Yeah, it was on a different drive. I mean, both drives were installed when I moved it, so it's not impossible that I fucked both of them up. I have a feeling that these were on their way out since I moved the PC back home from boston.
 
Dude, I dunno how you could've fucked up your entire computer by moving it. Maybe you plugged it into a different outlet that somehow fried it?

Gonna be in Mammoth Thanksgiving weekend, hopefully Tahoe for New Years. In 2012 I'm gonna be in Colorado with many, MANY day trips to Bear Mountain. Why do all of this? Two words "Mountain Chicks."

It's just the hard drives. Aren't they relatively weak to physical shock? It could also be the power cable. I have a few that look identical, it's possible I'm using the wrong one, but I don't know how I could check... Ideas?
 
HDDs when off can survive being moved unless you throw them at the fucking ground. Then they are most likely done.

I had some shitty SATA power cables before, HDDs would just shut off randomly. Replaced them and all was good.

Makes sense - judging on the game through sequence 3 they have avoided showing the faces of any of the central characters from the past games aside from the newly remodeled Ezio/Altair/Desmond. I imagine that Kristin Bell likeness has gotten pretty expensive since 2008.

Too many games...a good problem to have IMO, but yeah I got Skyrim and MW3 and no time to play since I'm off to SoCal tomorrow night.

Well I just looked up the AC Wiki and it doesn't say he's gone from the game. It even has 3D models of him with the facial hair.
