GGT 163 won't make a porn with creepy Joel
On New Year's Day I plan on getting pulled under by the Kraken while hanging with friends and going out to the local bar scene. Nothing too fancy.

You helped with my plans... getting some Kraken tomorrow.

Also, I stay off GGT Skype cuz I assume all of you just do this for hours
I hated the puzzle parts as well which was my problem. If the game wasn't 80% block puzzles I would have liked it a lot more. Should have let you play through without doing the puzzles on a second playthrough or something. Sure it would have been like...an hour long, but it would have been infinitely more enjoyable.
Yeah, I hated the puzzles in the demo so I've never bothered with it as there's no way I'd finish it. Just not into puzzle games at all.

Wish it had just been an RPG or something with the same context/story.
I was playing Brawl with my little brother for about a hour today. My left hand fuckin hurts. The Wii controller sucks ballz.
Gamecube controller is the only way to play.
OMG I love you, BlueScrote. ^__^
No problem, enjoy

Brawl is all kinds of stupid fun. Wario with the ass gas attack is the shit. No GC controller no play for me. fuck those that try to play no items, what is this a fighting game for keeps?

I've tried the Move with Killzone 3 and Resitance 3 and it was awful, even tried the sharpshooter attachment. Didn't help that both games were pretty poor to begin with. I guess it takes a lot of getting used to, but totally not worth the frustration IMO.

Only fun game so far with it is Time Crisis 4, and it's sad to say that the first Time Crisis with a Guncon was infinitely more enjoyable on PSX.

I wonder if I'd enjoy Metroid Prime...

Sharpshooter was stupid. Think about it for a second, you want people to aim at a TV when the screen is already taken up by the in game avatar's arm and gun. The fact that I also have use aim in to turn is complete nonsense.

There is a reason why all the time crisis arcade games use 50+ inch screens, peripheral vision. Now if there were more game was on rails, Ala Time Crisis instead of KZ or R3, then I would buy the hell out of them. Sega should have cash cropped on Ghost Squad and Virtua Cop remakes.

Brawl gets shit on a lot, but it's still a fun game. It's no melee, but it's still a lot of fun with buds n beers.

Where's uraizen?

According to Japanator, in an interview with BlazBlue Producer Toshimichi Mori that recently appeared in the Japanese magazine Gemaga, he mentions that one of his goals in 2012 is to make BlazBlue 3. Thats right, not another update to Continuum Shift, but a full blown sequel.

I didn't like it very much. It felt like Melee but worse.

For New Year's we do the same thing every year: on the Eve, we eat a lot of food and bust fireworks. On the day of, we eat more and hang out.

I will try to squeeze in some gaming of some sort, but it will likely be of the portable or ipad variety, if at all.

$5 New Vegas on Steam is tempting, but I already got it on dat Triple. I don't even care for it much, but I'm wondering if it being on PC will change my mind.

Played more MW3 single player last night. It seems a lot longer than BF3's single player, but that's ok since I like it a lot better so far.

Cool, I'll probably rent it from Redbox this weekend just to get through the campaign. I think I did all the others on hardened though, I hope I can spare the extra couple hours.

The MW Campaigns get a lot of flak, but they are enjoyable for what they are, popcorn flicks of the video game industry.

Yep. They're nothing ground breaking. Just great, mindless fun. Shame they are so short though.

Not only that but they actually have some memorable characters and occasional moments of actual emotion. I'd take a MW campaign over a Michael Bay movie easily.

Also, I'm glad they are short. Wouldn't want them to overstay their welcome.

Yeah, a game can certainly be too long. 5-6 is a bit too short though. But it's more just that I think the MP in this one sucks donkey balls. The other ones I didn't mind the short single player as I played the hell out of the MP. I do still need to try out Spec Ops when I get my damn hacked account back though.

I think 5-6 hours is about right for my tastes, at least for a game like this that basically cuts out the filler and leaves you with nothing but the best parts.

It's just a cost/value thing for me. If I'd known I'd hate the MP, I'd have just redboxed it. 5-6 hour kick ass game is great for a rental. Not so great for a full price launch purchase. $60 is a lot to pay for a game I blew through in two sessions on one Saturday.
I'm surprised that's coming before a new GG.
The real question is if BlazBlue 3 comes out 2012, how long after the 2/14 release of BBCS2E will it be? At the most, they could go 10 months, if it happens. Which would mean they'd be matching or one-upping capcom.

As far as GG, they're... striking while the iron is hot? BlazBlue is a known franchise now, and probably does decent numbers; I doubt they want to test the GG waters out rather than cash in with another entry in a franchise currently known to gamers?

Well, at least MW games tend to hold their value well, so you could always resell it and recoup most of your costs.

Yep. I'll be able to ditch it on Goozex for 1000 points with no issue. Just holding on to it to check out Spec Ops and maybe give MP one more chance once I get my Live account back.

I stupidly bought the hardened version too (figured I'd want all the map packs like with Black Ops and other past CoD games). But I got a $20 Amazon credit with purchase, and sold the elite access for $35, after realizing I didn't care for the MP (and my Live account was hacked anyway) so I already recouped that potentially wasted money.

Well, BBCSE is already out in Japan as of mid-december, it's just aksys taking their sweet ass time. Capcom actually does worldwide releases or at least close to it. Unless you count the arcades, then BBCSE has been out for months already. There's usually a six month spread between arcade and console for arc, so unless he finishes it within six months of the new year it won't even release for consoles in Japan until 2013. After that, we have to wait for a few months to get a domestic release. So since you're counting the domestic release, we have at least a one year wait until it even makes it over here. So how are they one-upping Capcom exactly? :booty:

BlazBlue is a known franchise? Maybe amongst the fighting game community, but I doubt most people know about it. I'd actually say Guilty Gear is the well known franchise. They might not want to redraw all those sprites yet, though. Heck if I know, I just want a fuckin' new HnK game from them.
They should do BB vs. GG
I... I'm okay with this.

Fair enough. :p

You know I'm a fighting game guy, but guess what? I've never played a GG, ever. And since there are no GG games for PS3 or 360, I don't have any idea who the characters are (except for Sol and Baiken and maybe there's a boy playing a girl nun?) or what the game is about other than it's "kinda like blazblue" in some of the system mechanics, I guess?

So if there are people (like me, I guess? scary...) who have bought at least 1 BlazBlue game... wouldn't you rather put out a 3rd one that they will probably buy rather than risk putting out a Guilty Gear and saying "but it's like BlazBlue with different characters!!" to try to get me to buy it? I mean, I'd be interested in it for Baiken personally, but that's a risky proposition. It's the same reason Capcom hasn't made another DarkStalkers or PowerStone or your favorite non mainstream Capcom fighter, I'd wager, and we'll likely see more Street Fighter and Marvel before we see a DS or PS game.

This. I have no beef with the game, story, series, whatever... It's mostly the college and under people who play I dont enjoy.

Yeah, I'll only play online with people on my friends list, and using party chat so you don't have to listen to all the idiots.
Bahahaha guilty gear is a known franchise... LOL.
More people I talk to know about Guilty Gear than BlazBlue.

The first Guilty Gear was ported from arcades to PS1.

2nd Guilty Gear, Guilty Gear X, was a Naomi/Dreamcast title, ported to PS2. Past this part, all received PS2 ports.

After that came Guilty Gear XX, ditto, minus the DC release, still a Naomi arcade title.

Then Guilty Gear XX # Reload, which ended up on Xbox also.,

Then Guilty Gear XX Slash.

Then Guilty Gear XX Accent Core.

Then Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus.

Not counting Guilty Gear Isuka, which was some weird ass 4 player GG game, the PSP ports, or the DS versions.

I think that's it? Correct me if I missed any.

That would explain it -- I missed the PSX release; I don't remember playing a lot of fighters on the PSX except Tekken 2/3. Toshinden seemed bad, I got my MK Trilogy or whatever it was for N64... I tried a few other ones, but they all sucked.
No dreamcast, no xbox.

I've played fighters since SF2 hit arcades, longer if you count shit like Karate Champ.

I kept up on them too. In fact, I care less now than I did 10 years ago. Sad but true.

Maybe 2012 will change that.

See? This is why they need to make GG vs. BB. Then we can decide this destiny.

Thanks for the Fallout New Vegas gift Hank.
