So I started looking on youtube for a video of someone playing the ME3 demo because of something someone said on GAF -- didn't feel like redownloading to see the council, if they were really in it somewhere.
E3 demo -- probably some spoilerish stuff if you haven't seen it.
That turns off my interest in the game, even after enjoying most of my insanity run on ME2 PS3. *sigh*
Even if I get by the stupid visual change to legion with the glaring N7 logo on him now, and I overlook the "hey, we made it even more of a third person shooter", the thing that gets me the most is "oh, hai, look, you're attacking a geth base because they're working with the reapers.". Really now? Would these be the geth that either (1) were reprogrammed to dislike the reapers and side with legion's geth? or maybe (2) the "small outlying remnants of the geth" that remain and are unorganized and low in number after you destroy their main base?
I mean, really? By the end of the arrival dlc, the reapers are 3 months out or whatever, not years... and yet, there's this huge geth base with a giant reaper-esque colossus coming out of the ground when you try to bomb it? And what look like cerberus troops showing up to stop you? And then they put you in a vehicle on rails turrent section a la uncharted?
WTF, BIOWARE? Seriously.
*note* the above is making a lot of assumptions based off the footage... but still. if the assumptions are mostly correct, WHAT THE .
Also love how the new "omni-blade" is basically a rip off of the Assassin's Creed hidden blades.
At least they fixed the ing "hurting" health screen to get rid of the red veins.
But they're still touting the "every choice you make has major ramifications"?
I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: the geth stuff
, keep in mind that was all optional. You didn't have to recover Legion, nor reactivate him. So on some playthroughs the heretic geth wouldn't be destroyed/reprogrammed.
So maybe the demo is just an example of a situation that only arises if one made those decisions in ME2.
Anyway, I can't wait for ME3. It's the only 2012 release I'm really stoked for. I may well not buy any more games this year since my backlog will probably keep me busy at least through the rest of the year.
I'd expect the ME1/ME2 decisions to play a larger role in ME3 than what we saw from the ME1 decisions in ME2. Being the last game of the trilogy, they don't really have to worry about carrying decisions into the next game. So it's easier to have impactful things happen. I expect any future ME games won't involve Shepherd--probably too much hassle to deal with importing characters into a next gen console game, so they'll just do something new in the next game.
I can only identify 2 out of 4 of those Crotch, but mine was more relevant, since I know that Uraizen doesn't like LoL or WoW (I love Nidalee though), but he loves BlazBlue (and more specifically he loves Hazama... and so does Ragna it seems).

Valid point, sure.
But that seems like something where you'd *lose* content by doing stuff in the previous game, so what's the point of importing? You could say "but hey, maybe you gain an entirely different mission". Which might work out and be cool for replayability, if they put another comic in the beginning that lets you easily alter/make all the previous decisions that will really affect the game and the outcome (for new characters).
I mean, I think that's why they tout these things as "game changers" and then they turn around and cop out with stuff like "message from the Rachni queen" in 2. How pissed off is someone going to be if they miss out or lose out on content because of something they did 2 games ago. I can see the project leads not wanting to exclude players from anything so they find these ways out of it all.
I still think a DA:O is the best thing they could muster, but so far, they can't even compare to that yet. At least with DA:O, I felt like my choices kinda mattered... Werewolves vs Elves to help in the final battle? Awesome. Especially since the "units" had different properties... that was kind of cool. ME3 has a lot of hype and damage control to balance.
I don't think it would be missing missions. Just some different story points.
In this case with the Geth I could see 3 story possiblities:
1. Skipped Legion's stuff, so the heretics are still with the Reapers. No extra missions, but maybe you need more galactic readiness points to get best ending or something.
2. Heretics destroyed. They're not with the Reapers, but you get fewer galactic readiness points since they're not on your side.
3. Reprogrammed the heretics. They're on your side, giving you more galactic readiness points.
Same with things from ME1 like saving the Rachni queen. That should put the Rachni on your side, give you more galactic readiness points etc.
But you're right that ME3 does have a lot of hype to live up to. I'm hopeful they will though, as it's easy to incorporate a lot of these decisions into the galactic readiness stuff and thus make it easier or harder to get the best ending.

Top-to-bottom:
Starcraft 2 Baneling, chick from LoL, chick from Final Fantasy V, chick from WoW.
Chosen because I really don't feel like looking up cosplayers, and this is all just one person that likes showing off on teamliquid.
I really hope that Mass Effect has a re-cap of your decisions because I really don't remember, except that Ashley lived in ME1 and my whole party survived in ME2.
Also, no takers for playing some ME multi tonight? 11 EST.

No, but Josh and Uraizen might be having birthday 3s or BBCSE tonight at 10ish, I'd wager.
And I refuse to play ME multiplayer. Maybe it'd be a surprise and fun, but I doubt it. I see it like Uncharted, where I loathe the multi and think it was a waste of development time and resources.
Just finished Space Marine. It was a blast. I would welcome a sequel. ^__^

As for ME3 multi, I may try it out in the full game, but for now I'm not even gonna download the demo. I've pretty much avoided info about the game aside from character announcements.
I need to get Space Marine sometime. It's cheap enough, might just bite now, probably worth $15.
Oh yeah, friend got me Darkness II as an early birthday present. I should install that.
The 3 in the title = best in the trilogy confirmed.
Always is. See Robocop 3 for a good example.
That movie sucks a fat dick. The fact it's PG13 says it all.
This is relevant to something, but I have no ing idea what.
If only whonoes would get on AIM so I can talk to him about Uraizen on this special day.
We decided that it is in fact Uraizen's birthday and we wish him a good one. Also, as a gift to himself, we thought it would be a good idea if he taught whoknows how to ride a bicycle.
yeah horde type mode with customizable loadouts, weapons, biotic powers etc...
I'm gonna play it some more tonight when I get home from work. anyone interested in partying up??

Took 1 post after I posted here to remember why I don't frequent this thread (especially at work)
That's how we roll around here.

Was it the 16-bit man in thong a shaking his hips, or the dinosaurs smothered in tits?
I really should not have specialized my paladin in bastard swords. Between me and Khalid, the party is, like half bastard sword. At least hobgoblins drop plenty of spares for the inevitable weapon break stuff. I am ing swimming in bastard swords. My main character has so many bastard swords tied to his body, wolves should take damage from trying to bite him.
I might also be up for some ME3 demo MP tonight, though it might not be until 1AM ET or later.
Damn, I would getting on 3am EST time...
