Uncharted 2 is only better than 1 in that some of the gameplay mechanics have been refined. If uncharted had the gameplay tweaks from two patched in, it would be superior to 2 in every way. Especially if you like the series for being more tomb raider/indiana jones than for being gears of war. [/bold opinion]

Compared to 1 and 3, 2 sucks. It's by far and away the worst in the series. I haven't played Golden Abyss yet, but since 3 was better than 2, I have hope for it.
I enjoyed 3, but 2 felt more refined. Regardless each game has its set of awesome moments. Nothing feels better than wasting a few bullets into an enemy and running up to them to melee, but Nate Drake instead decides to drop kick the guy. Brings a man tear to my eye everytime.
husky is some douche who got popular because his SC2 channel was in HD when the game released, and 80% of the community is 12 years old these days so his charisma is pretty approachable.
To be fair, a lot of the casters have un-charisma andtry really hard to get Tastosis-like banter going on.

And it's terrible.

The last Homestory Cup had great casting, though. Analysis from players, Incontrol trolling, and Koreans calling everything overpowered.

I stand by Tasteless as a great commentator, at least in the Broodwar days.

fuck Day9.

I've nothing against Tastosis themselves. Sometimes they feel a little... forced, but they're mostly alright.

Day's fine as a caster, from what I've seen. He usually focuses on camera work (and does a pretty good job of it) and lets his co-caster do the actual commentary.

Gretorp is still the worst of the major casters, though.
Now it's just getting overused.

Why does everyone hate the jetski level so much? It's easy and really not a bad variation... :3
I dunno, maybe he's playing on Hardcore mode?

No, just on normal. The levels in the city were fine. Going up the river rapids was a pain as the controls weren't great to begin with, and even worse when having to fight the damn current.

On top of it not being fun since you have to go slow and hang back to pick off barrels and enemies. So you can't fly around like you'd naturally want to on a jet ski.

I'll never get why shooter developers so often have to shoe horn in vehicle levels. they pretty much always suck, and are at best mediocre.

I thought 2 was fine. It was more enjoyable than 1 in terms of the gameplay improvements for sure, but I don't think that alone made it better than 1. 1 took a
fantasy
swerve towards the end that I didn't care for--I thought it just didn't fit in with how the game was going up until that point
with the super mutant zombie things
. 2 did not do this as much. My biggest complaint with 2 was
how the boss fight at the end tried to over compensate for the complaints about 1's final "battle"

Did you forget the story for 2 entirely?
How the hell is cursed zombie people "more fantasy" in terms of the plot twist when compared to an alternate dimension with super fruit that turns people into giant blue yetis?
I'd argue 2 is worse in terms of your complaint than 1 ever was, from my point of view, at least. :p
I'll take an ancient curse over an alternate dimension with steroid inducing super fruit from the tree of life any day

Uncharted 2 was much more memorable for me, I'm not even sure I could tell you how Uncharted 1 started (Nathan diving for something that tells him to go to some island maybe?), but I for sure can tell you how Uncharted 2 started, that game starts with a bang and gets you into the game instantly. Still haven't played Uncharted 3 yet, I'll probably pick it up when I can get it for nice and cheap.

A buddy of mine wants to do a remake of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom with a Hindu protagonist.

He said he'd call it "Indian Jones".

I only really remember The Last Crusade, and mostly because Sean Connery is in it... (love young Sean Connery, best James Bond)

Well and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull which sucked, seriously there was no good in that movie.
I'd-a thought Sean Connery was a little on the hairy side for you, Ice?
I'd make an exception for him, he's so suave in the James Bond movies, well I mean if he was currently my age.

Yeah, I thought 2 was far better than 1. It felt like they actually took their ideas from the first game and turned it into a fun and fluid game. 2 just feels like a much more well-crafted and cohesive game overall. Partially because the combat isn't bad like the first game, and partially because the writing was more interesting. 3 improved the series even further in some ways, but it also brought it backwards big time when it comes to the combat.

Any time there is an adventure story about the supernatural, the Nazi's will most likely have something to do with it.
So did some of you never see Indiana Jones?

Straight up crazy shit is out there.
I have never seen an Indiana Jones movie, OH SHIT!
brb, going to break Joel's record.
Impossible.

I love the Indy movies. The first and third one are great. Temple of Doom is just ok. The 4th one wasn't nearly as good, but I didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people do though.

No and no with a side of NO.

3 is better than 2 in EVERY WAY. It's just about tied with 1, but a couple things bring it down a notch.
I had PTSD flashbacks in the ship graveyard when you climb up and shit starts breaking after I had to play through Uncharted 2 3 times for the platinum (meaning I climbed that stupid fucking train 6 times... UGH!). Also, the stupid fucking "I'm on drugs" sequences were not fun for gameplay purposes, that shit should've just been a cutscene... as well as the horse chase. Then again, any time there's a "vehicle" chase in Uncharted, it doesn't really work out so well.
.

Combat in 2, for me at least, was solely bettered by some things like the ability to shoot while climbing and some of the new stealth kill type stuff which was kind of underutilized. That's another point where 3 better 2 -- the ability to choose how to play. I stealthed the hell out of everything, which put me in the game/story even more than before because I wasn't being NATHAN DRAKE, COMMANDO. I was actually being NATHAN DRAKE, DUDE WHO GOT HIMSELF IN A BAD SITUATION. :)

As far as Indy movies go, I love Last Crusade, but wasn't a huge fan of Raiders or Temple. The 4th movie was okay until they decided to wind up the end of the story like they did. Everything up til the middle/end was a fun summer popcorn flick for me. When they brought that ending into play though? fuck NO. :)

It was all downhill once it got to the refrigerator nuclear blast shelter... which was the start of the movie. After that you have Shia LaBeouf playing the annoying son, and love sequences that were just off, and the movie culminated with a random alien encounter.
Saw Josh's comment on the newest episode of Podtoid and wacked off.
Without me? I feel betrayed.

Josh, how do you listen to this show in public? I tried the other day, and felt like an idiot because I was laughing for what would appear to be no good reason.

You're going to look like Popeye too.
Impossible.
I'm convinced somebody in the GGT will win a Nobel Peace Price before this happens.

Here comes a new challenger.

It is very difficult. I try to let all my laughs out while I'm alone in my car, but when I'm in public I still occasionally slip up.

I dunno if you listened to it yet, but in the newest comedy button where max talks about the text-to-speech on his phone, and Brian recommends him to make it say numbers...
That caught me off guard. I couldn't help myself.
I know I didn't make any new friends.

Luckily I was at home making lunch when I listened to that.

You might as well super glue josh's cock into mikey's butt.

Naw, but by the time that happened in 2, I was expecting it
meaning the fantasy wtf moment
. And it wasn't entirely out of context since
the super fruit people were native to that place--just like at the end of Raiders where you were like well, this is pretty outrageous and more fantastical than I was prepared for up until this point, but it is the fucking Ark of the Covenant and all. The fantasy zombie dudes in the first one were like a wtf twist surprise that just didn't match what was happening in the story up until that point. It's like, ok you fight all these regular dudes with guns pewpewpew and then they just throw the mutants in there like "surprise motherfuckers! zombie dudes! Why? Just because that's why!". Made no sense to me at the time.

As much as I'm not a Shia LaBeouf fan, I actually enjoyed him in the movie, I only saw it that one time, but I remember remarking that he was much better in the movie than I expected... and I don't need "super realism" in my Indy movies -- they're predicated on suspension of belief, so the fridge part didn't bother me either. It was a little ridiculous, but no more so than Indy having his heart ripped out by the Temple Priest or bringing his dying father back to life with a cup of water.

The thing that killed it for me, for certain, was the aliens. This isn't stargate. ^_^
As much as I'm not a Shia LaBeouf fan, that killed it for me. ^_^
Fixed. ^_^
They can fuck to Animal Collective and Dr. Acula.
This song is very sexable...

But if he tries to bring Dr. Acula into the mix, it's over. :nottalking:
Josh, if we have trouble finding work, at least we're openly allowed to serve in the military now!
But that would be difficult for a pacifist run.
