ladies, stop fighting for a minute. Square Enix has just released their first PS1 rpg with pre-rendered backgrounds since the PS1 days...on the iphone-- http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=390512


even at $12.99, that's tempting. I've been playing ESPgaluda 2 on the bus everyday, but it gets me a bit motion sick. And those chicago pot holes don't make it any easier to finely navigate bullet hell...an rpg might be what I need.

also, looks more fun than FFXIII.

edit: meh, what the hell...bought it. i'll post impressions later tonight if people want to hear about it.

I like how super phil comes here looking for a fight, and then complains when he gets one.

I like how Chaos Rings has been out for about 12 hours, and there are already glorified previews with a perfect score tacked on the end reviews out.

Almost makes me sad I'm seriously considering dumping my iphone.

I liked the Wii better when it was called a Gamecube and the motion controls were slated to be a peripheral, like Natal/Move.

You have the DLC for Heavy Rain Zew? After you finish, give that a try. It's rough around the edges, but full of holy shit moments for such a short episode...

No. I didn't even know they made DLC for it. I'll definitely look into when I'm finished.

Just picked up monster hunter 3, with a black and white classic controller pro's. Now, time to summon up strength to play it. Dead tired from work. :S
 
I would have preferred a more traditional nintendo system, without the motion shit. But after playing Red Steel 2, Madworld, Galaxy, etc. I found it's a lot of fun, and the motion + works well.
No way in hell would I ever want motion to be the norm for games or consoles, but I can handle it for one system, and it's nice to have a 360 to fall back on to. When I had the wii the first time, when it was newer, I played it for about a month, and couldn't wait to get rid of it because of there being no games, but I found a lot of good games that have come out and are coming out since I got it the second time around, plus my woman likes to play it, so that's a huge plus for me. I'm not really a hardcore gamer like I used to be, work, school and social aspects take a lot of time and energy away where gaming usually doesn't even sound appealing. Fun to play Zelda and stuff again, I prefer those games to any other. I usually just jump inot an online game on the ps3 or 360.

That is awesome. Glad to see the license shit got worked out. Figured after MvC2 Sub HD was released, that we'd see a 3rd.

um, so Chaos Rings is kinda fucking great so far. The music is really awesome, the graphics are too. The gameplay is actually pretty challenging. if you don't use all your skills, you die. It's like Vagrant Story dungeons with a ps1-era Final Fantasy battle system with SMT difficulty. There's a pretty high encounter rate, but you get a skill that lets you turn off random battles. You can save anywhere and it auto quick saves if you press the home button.

Not sure how long it is and if it stays this good, but so far, $12.99 seems like a steal compared to the crap they put out on the DS and PSP for $40.
