Yeah, I'm really digging AC2.

It's not perfect. The controls are a bit clunky at times (I'd prefer a jump button to the hold RT and A method) It gets repetitive, especially if you're trying to find all the treasure chests, do all assassination contracts as they pop up etc.

And it occasionally has the GTA problem of having long missions on the other side of the city where you have to kill 5 guys etc. which gets annoying when you fail on the last one and have to do it all over.

But in all it's a hell of a lot of fun.

I wouldn't say that. Plenty of sequels take place in the same/similar settings. The settings a big part of the appeal for sure. I find the sci fi animus stuff a bit cheasy. Would be better to just take place back then without that angle IMO.

Bought that last night already. Have one piece of the last set of armor and one weapon left to buy--then I should have everything other than maybe some more pouch upgrades that aren't available yet.

Already have all the paintings, everything restored/upgraded in the Villa etc.
 
Borderlands is a game I play for a long period of time, put it away for awhile, then come back and remember why I liked it so much. Shotgunning midgets was never this much fun.
 
day 3 (cont'd): played some chaos rings on the bus. I can do about half a dungeon + mid-boss fight on the ride. There was some story development for the characters that was pretty interesting. I like that there isn't any stupid ass vocabulary to learn to describe the world. That's partially because nobody knows where they are, but even when characters talk about their homes, it's all very simple and to the point. You get visual cues about where you are and the timeline. There is one kinda dumb part where this guy you fight is like "hey, want me to explain where we are?" and the character's response is "nah, I'm cool, don't care, won't help." :lol:
 
I got my replacement 360 back. Good news is that the DVD drive isn't as loud (still makes noises), but the bad news is it still lacks HDMI and an older unit. I plan to trade in my 360 either Thursday or Friday. I hope to play MW2 online sometime. I'm keeping some of my games, but I will probably just buy an Elite sometime after E3 (so I know if a slimmer Xbox 360 is real or not).

I don't recall Metroid Other M having a specific release date--last I heard was Q3? In any case, as long as the delay makes the game better, it's all good with me.
 
That's what I heard, june 20th something.

I wish I would have jumped on that barnes and nobles %50 off 360 thing before they caught on, I am having withdrawals.
 
btw, I'll shoot you an FR for PSN kissful...my time zone isn't usually conducive for playing w/most CAGs, but I could stand filling up my PSN friend list as well. ^_^

Do you never play any earlier than like 7pm your time? If you catch me on the right nights, I could be on from 12am - 2am.

The earliest I'm on is usually around 9pm HST/11pm PST. :p

But sometimes I pop in whenever, if it's a weekend or holiday.

Did I shoot an FR to you already frosty? If not, I'll do so too...

BTW, Beef I live like 45 mins away from you since your in Sac town. Maybe we'll bump into each other at some gaming event.

I have a decent amount of PS3 multi-player games, but I mostly play JRPGs. I'm still trying to clear my PS3 friends list more because unless you are a good friends of mine (those people should know who they are), I mostly just want people who live near me on my list (for reasons). I also tend to go to bed quite early (9pm EST, partially due to my work time). I had over 300+ people on my friends list before, since so many tried adding me. :p

I bought Ogre Battle 64 on VC. Really liking it and wish I could have bought it years ago.

I played the Splinter Cell demo on 360. I liked it.

Splinter Cell Conviction SP was way shorter than I expected.

Need to invest some more into the co-op though. From what I have played I have had a bast.

I don't miss those long update/patches at all. I do want to play HR and GoW3 eventually though, maybe E3 will push me to get a new PS3 this winter.
