Never had The Witcher 2 ever crash to desktop on me.

Which is why I'd at least wait for the first SP release to install a Windows OS, that is unless you have something as bad as ME installed.
Course, considering it looks like the first SP for 7 will be the only one, who knows if 8 will get one.
