Just got RDR and Split Second in the mail today. Alan Wake should be here tomorrow. Already shot Amazon an email about the $10 price difference from the pre-order. Since it looks like I'm going to have a 3 day "weekend" I'm hoping maybe I can beat Alan Wake (or Heavy Rain if I can remember).
Chac , that reminds me that I still need to play Phoenix Wright 3 and Apollo Justice too , especially since I just ordered Miles Edgeworth from Gamestop.
I thought it was a bit strange, though -- Best Buy doesn't even carry the Edgeworth game. I was gonna buy it there and they straight up didn't have it. Tha ? Lawyering isn't mainstream enough of a game concept for Best Buy?
Also, I saw some info on a new NIS game today, and I wondered why NIS actually even exists. They only make bad games.
Soooo, I went to a local mom and pop store and they had a copy of One Piece: Unlimited Adventure sealed for $29.99. I knew the game was rare so I picked it up, went online and I guess the thing goes for $199+ sealed Now I need to decide whether to keep this or sell it.
The Darksiders Hellbook disc is not bad--a bunch of videos basically--but also stupid in the sense that it's like having to mail away for the Extras disc on your typical SE DVD. It should've just come packaged with the game.
Yea RDR is my dream game. Although right now it is a lot of riding back and forward between two places. I was hoping for more of a Clint Eastwood type of feel, where you come across one town and do a bunch of missions ending in a finale and then you move on to the next town (although you aren't limited to one town). But it's still great
Impulse bought that Stephen Payneg today. It's great so far, but I'm wondering why on earth this game took so long. It's Max Payne in New England with a different coat and a magic flashlight (which is awesome, that's not a knock.) I'll beat it tonight and trade it back tomorrow for most of my credit back.

Damn, Borderlands is ridiculous amounts of fun with more than one person. Also, didn't realize Ninja Blade was done by From Software. I was amazed.
Enjoyed the couple or so hours I've played of RDR, at least that's better than GTA4 where I played it for 5 mins and decided I hated it.
Go play Gun then since that's pretty much what it was. I like this open structure better. Plus this game is making me glad I watched all of Deadwood.
My boyfriend picked up RDR, and I thought I would at least give it the benefit of the doubt so I watched him play. I actually really like the main character, and the scenery is really nice from what I've seen. Once he got to the rabbit shooting part I stopped watching and just moved on to God of War 3 again. This game has ing frozen on me three times, I seriously have no idea what's going on. But I hate getting to a boss, and having the game freeze RIGHT AFTER I BEAT HIM.
I also got Alan Wake limited edition for free from our roomie for my birthday tomorrow. Woohoo!!

Yea, I actually really like GUN. It is basically trash at everything that RDR does perfectly, but it was quite fun.
Yeah but in the "old west" you didn't have annoying cell-phone calls or cars that were barely drivable, well actually maybe they did have the cars.
Dunno what to tell you, maybe the setting is making the difference.
From what TheRock88 was saying, controlling a horse wasn't much better than getting used to driving in GTA4.
Yeah, there's no cell phones, but seeing as how the last 2 GTA games had some sort of "social" mechanic to the gameplay, it wouldn't surprise me to learn that you get pestered by some kid constantly telling you that there's "a new telegram for you, Mister". At which point it will be some random character 7 towns over who wants you to come by to shoot some rabbits.

Yeah it does take some getting used to, I guess it doesn't seem as bad cos I've not played many games where you ride horses (Gun is the only one that springs to mind). Whereas there's lots of open world games with cars to compare GTA4 to.

Come to think of it there was a kid selling papers in the begining of the game, maybe there is a telegram kid #-o The first person who tries to give me a telegram gets shot in the head and skinned (well looted).
Well, we saw it coming. We were ALL laid off.
30 days which I can choose to work or not.
Have a 1 on 1 meeting in an hour. Hmm, probably wasn't the best idea to buy furniture over the weekend.
Some people are given the option to move to CT or MT. That's pretty much the other side of the country away both ways.
I don't think I'll be one of those people. I doubt they'd let me work remotely.
Go into the meeting room for my one on one meeting, and the HR lady tells me to wait a moment as she's on the phone discussing a new home purchase.
Sorry man.
On the bright side, if you move to CT, we could possibly have a meetup!
It's closer to Oblivion than it is to GTA 4. More just wandering around looking for stuff to do, more empty areas. I think the only more apt comparison would be to Fallout 3 (dangerous water, firearms, etc.)
