I'm still on the fence about buying Red Dead. Amazon keeps offering such good deals on release games, but I already (still?) have a backlog to get through.

Split Second is also tempting.

It's just not spinning the disc anymore...i put the old laser back in and it does spin the discs so I know its nothing wrong with the drive. I'm guessing I just got sent a faulty laser...hopefully the guy I bought it from on ebay will exchange it for me without any real hassle.
 
Forgot to mention I beat Heavy Rain on monday... um, I'll be honest and say I enjoyed it, but would have preferred it only focused on two characters...
Ethan and the Origami Killer (kinda made me sad who it was since I liked him so much)

But the overall game kinda left me with an unsettling feeling. I still feel like it is a glorified Dragon's Lair and New York (or wherever it is) feels way way way too European (makes sense since the devs).

I still give it credit for willing to do stuff most mainstream games won't but yeah. I'm just deadpan middle on the whole thing... on that note:

I linked you to a seemingly reputable site.

The problem with eBay lasers is that there's a lot of shitty ones that die in like 15 minutes after install.

Someone posted in here once about which ones were good. It had something to do with colors...

Stupid Ebay. Reminds me of my quest for a good keyboard. I won a lot of 4 Dell AT101W keyboards, old school mechanical beasts. I get the box, they sent me 4 Dell Quietkey keyboards AKA total bullshit, do not want, this will not stand. So I contacted them, they just wanted a pic back of what I received. Then they refunded my money including shipping after 4 days. I got to keep the keyboards, yay.

Now I have a box full of shitty keyboards I do not want.

Oh yeah, games? Yeah, I might have played some this week. . .I think. . .Almost done with DIRT 2.
 
Got some more Fallout 3 in. Just did 3 side quests, couple were pretty long. This game is just huge. Even makes Oblivion feel small to me.

I'm waiting to see how bad the fallout is after the first week of Alan Wake's release. If people don't seem to totally hate it, I'll pick it up.
 
As much as I love remedy and how good alan wake looks, I definitely wouldn't be buying it for $60. But, then again, I never pay full price for games anymore.
 
i had hope for alan wake but definitely waiting for a price drop since its technical probs like screen tearing and its short length arent worth payin the $60 for it
 
I had hope for Alan Wake when it was still coming out for PC. I really wanted to hunch over my mouse and keyboard and play it on my $2000 PC. :cry:

Instead, I get 540p and a big comfy couch. :cry:
 
Haha, Alan Sleep. No preorder for me. In fact, it's hard to justify any game on launch these days since they drop like a week or two later if not sooner.

On the other hand, I want Red Dead asap.

Well, I decided I'm going to go ahead and trade in FFXIII for 3D Dot Game Heroes at GameStop. I tried to play through more of FFXIII last night, but I got stuck and just became super bored. I then mentioned it to a friend and the asshole TOTALLY SPOILED THE ENDING! WTF?

I'm going to play the crap out of 3D Dot Game Heroes.

yeah, not getting it at launch. It's a 10 hour single player game with no replayability = everywhere used within a week. I can easily beat it before the 7 day return period is over too.

Middle of next week I think. Did you sign up for the free copy of ODST from that Dream achieve whatever thing? That's what I did to get a second copy of ODST.
 
I must have. Was it a long time ago? Because I certainly don't remember it.

Playing some of the beta now. Invasion reminds me of onslaught/assault from UT. a nice twist on classic Halo gameplay.

Probably about a month and a half or two months ago. I agree about Invasion, it totally brings back old memories of UT. I have more fun with it in Halo, though.

So someone asked me if I can copy a PC HDD to an external hdd. It's through USB I'm assuming.

Can any of you tell me how to do it :p
