GGT 236: Michael Biehn appreciation thread
@Indi: Wow. Best picture she has taken yet. Gorgeous. Btw, did you play DD on the 360 or the PS3?
360

My 5 year old pawn girl named Zeki Younis would just break the game for you though.
NE1 getting that Soul Sacrifice (Frosty)?

Going to login now and look at it again...
Played the demo, nice graphics, boring gameplay. why do u want this game?
NE1 getting that Soul Sacrifice?
Debating it. I might get it because...
360
I wanted to use your pawn, but I wouldn't be getting the game for the 360. ._.

Anyway, def getting the first MGS. I've never played it. ._.
Any recommendations for a 3DS XL case?
Is the dock worth it?
Shit, I want game recommendations that aren't RPGs. I just remembered Sonic Generations existed for the 3DS today.

The 3DS XL is my nostalgia machine. Currently I have Luigi's Mansion 2 and Super Mario 3D Land. Next up is probably DKCR at the end of May. If they make a new 2D Metroid, I'd probably swoon.

--

gunm, I got Soul Sacrifice, loving the story, there's so many ways to customize builds and attacks and stuff, it's crazy. I haven't even gone into the full retail multiplayer, I'm trying to find a group to do some with tonight.

--

Also picked up Sly 4 and R&C Full Frontal as blind buys from the sale... the cross-buy sold me.
I'll have Soul Sacrifice tomorrow Frosty...although my character won't be anywhere near the level of yours.
Doesn't matter -- you can host, I can back you up. I love playing, so as long as you don't mind having a powerful ally... ;)

Anyone in here play the new 3DS Shinobi? It looked pretty good and I can get it for $10 or so.

Ratchet and Clank Collection or the Sly Collection?
Ratchet and Clank easily, I have both and enjoyed playing them back on PS2 even, but the Ratchet games are just a lot more fun to me and I enjoy the weapons/worlds/humor of them better then Sly.

While I agree with liking the Ratchet and Clank games more, the HD collection is riddled with bugs and slow down so the Sly collection is way, waaaay better technically. You get so much shit going on on-screen and the game grinds to a halt.

Huh, I own both of the collections on PS3 and was unaware that the problems were that bad, are the bugs like game breaking or minor graphical/audio stuff? I guess I should probably wait to recommend stuff until I actually play through them :/

Haha it's alright. I honestly haven't read up on any of the two. I've wanted to play both series, but was never able to get the games back then. The slowdown is rather disappointing. :(

On Ratchet and Clank it can be gamebreaking. I had it slow down and freeze quite a few times in Going Commando so that I had to restart my PS3 by pressing the actual power button and that is never fun. It's really bad in the first and third game too.

Yeah, it definitely wasn't my intention to get you to buy crappy versions of the game lol. As I said before though, the Sly games are also fun, so you can't go wrong with picking them up either, and due to what Joel said, even though I like R&C more, it seems you'd be better of buying the Sly collection for now, and maybe playing the R&C games on PS2 if possible.

Ouch, the slow down can actually freeze the game? That's terrible, I'd almost recommend not buying that collection due to that since you don't really want to pay for a poor HD transfer that has more problems then the originals (at least, not when the problems are that bad).
Just finished Blood Dragon, it was cool but too short and a lil repetitive
Would you say it's worth the $15 then or no? And how short are we talking, did it give you a time after you beat it?

I have it and bought it for ~$11. I would say it's worth it at that price. It's a "difficult" action platformer where you can generally kill enemies with one slice and deflect bullets and such if you time it right.

It kind of reminded me of the sword DLC character in Hard Corps.

Will probably be picking up these when I cash in some bing points
XBLA - Castlevania Symphony of the Night - 320 MSP ($4.00) - 60% off - Metacritic (89)
XBLA - Dungeons & Dragons Daggerdale - 320 MSP ($4.00) - 60% off - Metacritic (46)
XBLA - Pac Man CE DX - 400 MSP ($5.00) - 50% off - Metacritic (93) *

Any reason why I should get SotN on PSN instead?

I've never seen this, at least in R&C HD... there are times where I got a little slowdown, but never anything that ground the game to a halt. I haven't played the other 2 yet.

Had money/points saved for Blood Dragon, Star Wars pinball going on sale for half off ruined that, gonna have to wait till I got my 800 back from that rebate in like 2 weeks, the demo was awesome though.
Is the Revelations port worth $49.99? I want to believe portable games are just as good as anything else, but I can't.
Oh it definitely is, it's way better then the last few console RE games and you will enjoy it if you are a fan of the franchise overall, it has the more old school feel with the more modern controls. Plus, you don't have to pay 50 since it's currently on sale for $38 on Newegg! I have it on 3DS already but will pick it up again, probably on Wii U just to have more games for it, and since it had 2 screens originally.

The game played great on the 3DS and you didn't even need the circle pro. I know they removed the laser sight from the console ports other than that I hope its the same game.
Man where's that PC version discount? Might have to grab it on PS3 then.
Ah, you play on PC. Yeah, that's kind of a shame for you then, I can't even find the PC version on their website. Since it's a port of a 3DS game I would think that it would run fine on all of the systems at least, but you never know. I would recommend pre-ordering it on PS3 if that's fine with you to save the 12 bucks, then you can download the demo when it comes out and if you don't like it you can cancel it, and if you do like it you save some money!

Yeah, I had the circle pad pro myself, but tried it without it and it definitely played fine either way. It's kind of weird that they removed the laser sight though, I saw that before. It's not a deal breaker really, but there's no reason they should have done that.

I tried getting into it without the CPP and just couldn't do it. I've talked to enough of people that had no problem to know that it was my beef though. Either way, game's dope.

Yeah, one of my friends always like playing as HUNK so he'll probably buy this one since he's in it, it's nice to see a few new characters, even if it is just for raid mode. I had fun in what I played of that mode on my 3DS, but I'll probably have more fun playing with people I know.

Also, not sure how many people here this relates to, but I decided to run through the beginning of Pandora's Tower, and I really like the overall feel of the game so far, the theme and art direction are really nice, and even though the graphics aren't the best (it's on Wii) I'm still enjoying the bit I played so far, definitely looking forward to playing some more of that later!
