I pretty much expected that. They'll save all the game reveal stuff for E3 in a couple weeks (as the guy just said as I was typing this up).

They're trying to get the casuals and non-gamers intrigued with this announcement as they know all the gamers will follow E3 closely anyway.

Like I said, worked for me as I'm very intrigued and I was pretty set on not buying any next-gen consoles anywhere near launch if at all since my interest in gaming just isn't really there anymore. But if the TV etc. stuff works as well as they show, and the price isn't absurd I'll likely pick one up this fall.

Ugh, I can't really agree with the dude-bro focus. I appreciate that this is the XBox core audience, and it makes sense that they would go that way. But I'm not that audience, and I'm a little more interested in the PS4 thanks to this.

Sports games, NFL partnership, and Call of Duty. XBox One.
I actually like this Activision guy. He gets straight to the point and wears the blazer/jeans combo.
It's like he's a normal person like me or you!

Bro's loving Xbox One. Its got TV, sport games, and Halo. I'm thinking they should have called it XBox America, cause I have seen little to intice a Japanese/foreign audience.

Guys, guys...

Xbox Won

Get it right.
They just quoted star trek generations? Time is the fire in which we burn?
That don't got shit on that Vin Diesel line he pulled.

Well, there is FIFA for the European crowd. But yes, they are definitely going for the 360's core audience.

I'm really dissapointed that I didn't hear anything about supporting smaller developers. No XNA news. This presentation was purely for the benefit of end-users and dude-bros.
The PS4 press conference was boring, but at least it showed and talked about the shit I wanted to hear about. This press conference has been all about watching TV and a bunch of games I have no interest in.
Amen, shit is terrible. I don't care about any of this shit.

All about the games.
Almost 50 minutes in and no one has picked up a controller and shown anything in real time.
Bingo. It's all CG and fantasyland.
Oh shit, fucking dogs!!
Dogs of Duty: Dog Ops.
Guys they just spitted out "lean" as a new feature. That shit was in CoD1, chumps...

Still looks cool.
It's a new feature to console players. So it's new to everyone. Just like HD resolutions being new to console players this gen.

I'd totally buy the Xbox America. :bouncy:

PS4 is that Japanimachine.
Calling it now-Ghost's single-player will be 4 hours long. TOPS.
Will be true.
All the dog stuff just makes me think of Dead To Rights.

Need an Xbox One version of that.
I'd be excited. Xbox One exclusive.
So that was the worse Call of Duty trailer and I loved Black Ops trailer so much that is why I bought the game.
Dogs >>>> anything in Black Ops 1 or 2.
Well after that showing all I have to say is I'm ready to fully join the PC master race, haha.
Yessir. As I said on skype, the only things the console have for me now that I'm building a PC is (1) feature set and (2) exclusives.

MS showed no exclusives and I was interested in 0 of the features they showed off.
Sony showed 0 exclusives I'm interested in (unless CrysisZone 4 ends up better than what they showed) and has a few features I'm interested in (chief amongst them the "play all PS4 games on Vita" if it works right).

So yeah. PC master race. *HI-FIVE*

Conference definitely left me a lot more intrigued than I was before hand.

Key questions I have are:

1. Will all the TV stuff, instant switching to different things really work as instantly/seamlessly as shown?

2. Does the TV stuff require a separate cable/satellite box to connect with, or does it replace the need for one? Less boxes and wires cluttering up my TV stand would be nice, if this can replace a set top DVR box.

3. Will it work with any TV provider? I'm very happy with DirecTV. I don't really want to go back to cable. Especially if it has to be Comcast.

4. Pricing. If this is $400 or less (subsidized model is fine with me for a cheaper day one price since I'd always have Live subscription anyway) and it works as shown I may get one around launch.

I'd like to have seen more gaming stuff, but that's less a priority for me these days. And I know Halo, Gears etc. will be there, along with all the multiplatform stuff anyway. As someone who pretty much just plays the big blockbuster franchise games, the game library isn't something I'm waiting to hear about with baited breath since both the Xbox One and PS4 will have plenty of the types of games I play. I really like the design of the controller--huge benefit over the PS4 controller for me as I loathe side by side analog sticks.

1. No.

2. Requires subscription to supported cable company to use.

3. Nope. Comcast/ATT only.

4. $499 day one.
Welcome. :D
:grouphug: Assuming we both upgrade our graphics cards sometime this year our PCs will still be really similar, although I don't overclock mine since I have a stock fan for my CPU. Probably when I do an extensive upgrade to the core components of my computer and get a new CPU I'll end up getting an aftermarket cooler.

Yeah I'm sure I might pick one up down the line for exclusives like JRPGs I'm interested in, but I'll wait for the consoles' prices to drop and redesigns to fix things that aren't popular or design flaws in the first design (I can always just buy the games I'm interested in to keep until I get the console if I think they might go out of print).

Also. :grouphug:

Walmart's video game dept is shit. Every Walmart I have been into has a shitty video game section. fuck Walmart. fuck them in the ass. Bastards.

I'm gunning for dual 770s by the end of the year, so better keep up, playboy. I also overclock a bit, 4.5 Ghz on my 2500k at the moment. Gotta have mah speedz.

I'll buy a PS4 before I buy an Xbox One. ^__^

IGN said they were told atbthe event games will be tied TO THE USER. So if my wife wants to play the game with her account/gamertag it will cost an extra fee.

EPIC FAIL

We all know the real games will show up when the next ipad comes out.

Also if someone decides to check their fantasy team while I am watching the game on the tv I will tell them to just go look it up on their phone/tablet. Don't disrupt my enjoyment for your dude bro D&D.

It was interesting to hear what was all said on Skype while that was going on lol, I feel I'm a little more optimistic then most (read: essentially all) of you guys were so I'm looking forward to E3 and some more games/price, either way I'll talk to you all again sometime and I'm off to sleep for now.

Need more info on this "extra fee". If its too high, it fails outright. If its too low, nobody will buy a new game, they will just borrow their bro's disc and pay the small fee. What is an acceptable fee??

I think it will be $10....which is why EA just last week said no more online passes....and now shows up at the ONE reveal

I just saw the news about the "Xbox One," which looks a lot like the fusion of the grandaddy Xbox and a DV-R. I'm not really impressed in general, since these new systems aren't giving us a wholly new experience in gaming, just a step up from what we get with all the gadgets we already have.

Was about to say that the things people were cheering for were a bit "huh?".

Gotta be at least $40. Otherwise I can't imagine anyone buying a new disc. Everyone will just borrow.

Ditto. "You can skype" ..."YYYAAAAYY"

So were they MS employees or people paid to cheer? Same thing I guess

lol, as soon i saw the xbox "one", it reminded me of the old vhs player. I bet it is going to be like the last gen xbox 360. prone to rrod or rdod

Are two 770's going to be better than a single 780 (interested to see benchmarks once the cards come out)? I figured I'd just get a single card as an upgrade for my 560ti, since the last time I had a system that used SLI it seemed kind of temperamental. Maybe it's improved though. And yeah I don't overclock my CPU, even though I bought the one that was unlocked since it wasn't much more really.

SLI is better now than it was. Two 770s will crush a 780 by itself. Early word is that the 770 is a refined 680, with performance on par with one, but cheaper in price. I can dig it.

I would think they would go with a multi-tiered price, like $40-50 for new releases, and cheaper for games that have been around for awhile. Still, its gonna be confusing for some folks.

Buying a game used, then having to buy it again when you try to install? You know these dumb bitches out there are gonna go to Gamestop, see a used Halo 5 disc for $10 thinking they got a great deal, then get it home and realize they gotta pay MS $40 to be able to play. Its gonna create problems for uninformed idiots, Microsoft's favorite type of customers.

"Xbox, Internet Explorer!" Lolololololroflolol

Well, based on what I've seen so far, I'll be passing on the Xbox One. Out of all 3 major console companies, Microsoft is the one with the least exclusives that I care about (not counting games that are also on PC). In fact, I can't really think of any that were must-haves for me on the 360 that didn't go multi-platform. So I basically have 0 interest in the One.

Xbox is not The One.

Neo is.
