Ggt #25
yeah, that game was straight up broken. The physics were awful.

There was a nuclear fuck ton of hype for that game on gaf before it came out too.
Had to be one of the quickest flips of 'excitement' to 'indifference' I've ever seen for a game at GAF.

It was that way with me after putting a few hours into it. Love that I can make almost anything, but hated doing anything else.

Damn about 2 hours in I got a game-breaking glitch in The Forgotten Sands. So annoying because I was totally into it.

The glitch wouldn't allow me to upgrade my character no matter what, so I was stuck with the default Prince. I'll re-rent it once a patch is released.

apple can eat a dick. the iphone 4gs will be out in 6 months and apple will stop supporting the iphone 4. just like it did with the 2g and 3g once the 3gs dropped.

Phones get old frosty, they can't keep up.

Can't wait to play Chaos Rings with a decent framerate, plays like shit on my 3G. (and finally play espgaluda ii!)
It still does everything I knew my 3G could do when I bought it though, and that's what really matters.
There's more to it than that, I think, like getting more than double health, depending on world tendency, receiving less damage, and maybe a few more... but like ninja dog, I'm so used to being in soul form that I feel like I cheated when I hit body form with a life bar the size of the screen.

The health benefit was the best part for me. I didn't get far enough to get into world tendency and more of the meat of the game. But I'm doing a full playthrough of it this summer.
The only benefits to body form are having a "full" health bar (but even that is actually kind of meaningless in the context of the game), and the ability to summon/be summoned. Getting killed in body form in any of the worlds except the Nexus changes the WT negatively, but unless you are a completionist, want a certain type of weapon really badly, or ache for even more of a "challenge", then even that is not really necessary.

Soul form is nice because you are inherently quieter and have a better chance of sneaking by enemies/smaller aggro radius, and you do more damage than in body form.

After I beat a boss, I just go suicide in the Nexus since I don't want to mess around with WT right now. Maybe after I (someday) beat the game, I'll work more for NG, NG+, etc..

Sure they do. 6 months after you buy them, they're useless.

The real kicker? Apple saying "fuck you." to iPhone 2g users when it came to MMS. They just wanted to force people to buy a new phone? Proof? If you jailbreak, you can activate the correct packages and get native MMS on the iphone 2G (prior to fw 3.1.3).

I'm stuck trying to get 2-x and 3-x to PWWT... and my character to PWCT... :( I need to free Rydell but can't get his key from 3-2 because I'm like 1 off on the WT... and I need the dragon bone smasher from 2-3, but haven't been able to get the path to clear up yet. :\

I need to be in physical body form to get summoned by the 3-3 monk? That'd explain it. :\

Yeah, those other little things that the phones were indeed capable of were sneaky and wrong. Agreed.
I meant more in the performance sense, but yeah, that kind of support should have been universal.

Started Halo: ODST tonight. I'm enjoying the campaign way more than I enjoyed Halo 3. So much more atmosphere. The firefights seem more intense as well.

I'm not a fan of the new volume controls on the iPhone 4, two separate buttons instead of a rocker? Bah.

i don't like the rocker that much.

also, am i retarded or is there no way to make playlists on the phone? I used to queue up songs while listening to one song with my Rio Karma (ollllld school), but never figured out how to do it with an ipod/iphone.

GAT represent.

Alright WTF is wrong with my Triple? The TV makes a buzzing noise when the white AV jack is plugged in (STANDARD DEF FOR THE WIN!), its even louder when I turn the PS3 on, the colors are muted, and there's like a big rectangle of shaded screen that goes up the screen and then starts back at the bottom like a fucking old VHS.

I just hold the middle button down on the nano's on the song and it'll blink a few times and be on a playlist. You can later edit it all when on itunes. I haven't had an iphone yet, nor plan to, and I got rid of my touch awhile ago so don't remember how to do it on there, but there's a way, just google.

Went back to Fallout 3 to get some achievements I missed. I forgot how sick I am of super mutants and miles upon miles of identical-looking train tunnels. Blech.

Agreed. One of the few games I've ever given up on. Might be the least deserving game to ever sell a million.

I hated those fucking metro tunnels!

Maybe my biggest gripe with the game. They were repetitive as hell, and made it a chore to get to certain locations.

In Oblivion you could just walk the map and get pretty much anywhere, but with all the debris/crashed buildings etc. in Fallout 3 you had to waste time wandering in the fucking tunnels to find certain locations. Irritating as hell.

I loved the game, but definitely like Oblivion quite a bit more. Better map, side quests with achievements were centralized in the guild quests etc. etc.

The Scribblenauts developers should change their name to: Nigel West Dickens

Well at least the tunnels were really only in the main city area, all the way in the east. But yeah, they packed a lot of locations in there. I can't remember if Oblivion had variety in its caves or not, but it had to be better than F3.

Isn't it about time for Elder Scrolls V? That would be nice at E3.

World Tendency can be affected by the servers. Once you get a world to PB, I'd recommend playing offline until you've done everything you want to do in PBWT for that world.

This must be it -- I've dropped the connection for now, until I can get the shit I need to handled... online isn't much help now -- I've been through the game once... and I don't need PvP or anything.

do you have to completely turn off your PS3's internet connection to play Demon's Souls offline?

The Caves/dungeons were repetitive in Oblivion as well. But I don't recall having to go to them to get to locations. Vs. Fallout 3 where as you note so many of the locations were packed in the downtown DC/Georgetown/Chevy Chase etc. are where you had to find your way through the tunnels to get there.

The biggest issue for me was that the map and compass-- while great on open ground where you could go in a straight line--just sucked in the tunnels where you had to change directions, go up and down stairs etc. to get through so there was just a ton of wasted time trying to find the proper exit to get to the location you wanted. If they had to have the damn tunnels (vs leaving the surface open like it is on the west part of the map) they needed a better navigation system in the tunnels--something like the Bioshock arrow which is showing you where to go in each room rather than pointing in a general direction all the time like the Fallout compass. And make it something you can turn off (like in Bioshock) for the purists who like wandering around in tunnels/dungeons and trying to find the proper exit etc.

That would mean that the graphics chip in your PS could be going bad.

Could also be a problem with the video connections--either on your PS3, on the TV or a short in the cable.
I don't know what that means
It means the approximate equivalent of this:

GeForce_7800_GS_Front.jpg

is probably dieing.

Yea, it logs you in automatically.

Got my Rightstuf package today with the rest of the Baccano DVDs I needed, and then I picked up Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 7. Good day. Didn't get Metal Gear Solid because I think I should play the demo or whatever first. I hated every minute Portable Ops that I played, so I'm a little less than enthused here. And this is coming from someone who fucking loves MGS 1-4.

Rightstuf is pretty good. I'm waiting on them to ship the last part of Initial D S4. It comes out at the end of the month but once it a while they ship stuff early.

I caved in and ordered Peace Walker since I found a decent deal on it. I will probably still get Disgaea Infinite as well since I have like $40 worth of credit over at gamestop(And the game is only $20). I just have to hope they have a few copies sitting around.

what do you mean, Peace Walker is MGS4. unless you're talking about that CG movie made for the PS3.

If you subscribe to that counting methodology, PW would be MGS3, since MGS2 was a spinoff staring now-badass robot cyborg ninja Raiden, just like MGS:Rising is not MGS6.

No. You just need to log out of your PSN account, and when it prompts you to login, just cancel out of that.

I'm just saying MGS4 was not a real game and is a horrible piece of shit

Yeah, I remember exploring caves in Oblivion because I was curious as to what was inside them, but I'm so sick of F3 tunnels that I had to go through, that I don't want to spend a single unnecessary second in one.

Finally got the Beat the Team and Beat the Team 2 trophies in Split/Second. The amount of precision needed to beat the time on those courses was crazy.

My brother keeps bugging me about playing Monster Hunter Tri , but I keep avoiding it cause I know the game will be a big time sink and I'm trying to catch up/keep up on the games that I've recently gotten. Especially because I've actually been doing halfway decent at doing that. Beat Alan Wake , Split/Second , Heavy Rain , Dante's Inferno and am making some decent progress in Darksiders , all withing the last 2-3 weeks.

I find it's easier for my lazy ass to just disable the network connection until there's something I want to do online.
