I want someones PGR4 to show off on my shiny new TV.

Someone needs to come up with a sport for a video game, and it must be violent.

LOLz at Raiden being not much

Yoji Shinkawa (Metal Gear Solid 1,2,3,4 portable ops character designer) explains that Raiden is the cyborg Ninja in Metal Gear Solid 4 to represent the abuse he recieved for being the character he is and the main role in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Raiden is literally falling apart. All that remains of Raiden's human self is his head and his spine. The rest of him are cybernetic attachments which give him the abilities of the Cyborg Ninjas we have seen the previous titles.

I don't hate him, but the first time I played MGS2 I was waiting and waiting for the point where I could go back to playing as Snake.
 
I didn't mind. Raiden could do everything Snake could as far as gameplay goes. And it's not like you didn't get to see Snake doing cool shit since he was still in the game. All the bitching just seemed silly. Made me think too many people have hidden man-crushes on Snake...

Fans of the series wanted more Snake and Kojima didn't give them that. It really is as simple as that.
 
That's what I don't get. There was more than enough Snake. If you look at the story Snake was still technically the main character. I'm a huge MGS fan, I bought my PS3 for MGS4, and I didn't mind Raiden at all. Especially when you realize what Kojima was doing with the story by using the game itself to give validity to some of the story's more "out there" claims.

Sure Raiden was who you played as, but the game was still Snake's story.
 
I've never played the PS2-era MGS games, but that will change when the Collection comes out later this month.

Unfortunately, I did hear about the nude cartwheeling.
 
That's my issue with Raiden, if Snake lost all his clothes, he wouldn't bother covering up, he'd just use it to his advantage and smother guys with his massive piece. Raiden's a pussy.

My little sister was around when I was almost at that part so I turned it off :lol:
 
After 71 hours (wow) I finished Blue Dragon. Pretty sweet. I'll go back later for another 500 achievement points or so.
Damn, all my guys had at least one class at level 99, so I didn't get KO'd in any of the final 4 battles :D

raiden was a big gay and added nothing to the story but retreading of the first game's story. Everything that is bad about MGS2 can be tied to the inclusion of raiden.

The only good thing about raiden in MGS2 is the hate that made him be a figure of ridicule in the series redemption that is MGS3.
 
Raiden reminds me a lot of Leo Stenbuck, another character many did not like but I really loved. :)

MGS2 is my favorite in the series for sure. Raiden being apart of it was one of the reasons (The extensive story telling really made me like it). I really liked the conversations between Raiden and Rose.

He didn't really bitch anymore than Snake did in MGS1. The only thing I didn't like about Raiden was he went out with Rose. In fact the only times he really bitched was when he was talking to her. He carried out his mission, and only questioned things when they made no sense. Which was one of the whole points of Raiden's character.

Everything bad about MGS2 had to do with Raiden? Seriously? Ocelot's talking arm, Fortune magically changing the course of missiles, Vamp surviving everything, the Patriots, etc. That all had to do with Raiden? I'd switch that and say pretty much all the GOOD stuff in MGS2 had to do with Raiden.

I just have to wonder if anyone bothered to pay attention to MGS2's story, or they just saw they weren't playing as Snake and ignored the whole thing. Then whined about it making no sense, and how Raiden sucked.
 
Well, if there was no Snake... (too bad there is).. Raiden wouldn't be so bad in MGS2.

I haven't played MGS2 or 3, so I can't comment on the whole Raiden issue. The whole MGS storyline is pretty far out there, as far as I'm concerned.

The original Metal Gear was always one of my favorite NES games. I must have played thru it several times. I still love that line:

Raiden was awesome. He had a great suit, got to use a sword, and has more proven female conquests than Solid "I like to hang out with Otakon" Snake.

At least Otacon is better than Rose. I mean, Raiden is on a mission where he could easily be killed and she's constantly saying insignificant crap like "Do you remember what tomorrow is? No? Well I'm not going to tell you."
 
I am replaying God of War: CoO. It is still ok.

I also watched No Country for Old Men on my PS3 which is a gaming machine and loosely related to gaming. It was good, but I don't totally understand the ending. I might actually understand it, but am thinking too much into it.

Burnout was fun. I think I learned you can actually control the barrel rolls of a 1 ton hunk of metal.
 
I sure hope aksys ports over the 360 cave games here. I will do it if I have to, but I really don't want to import a Japan 360.
