GGT #42 will be playing Halo Reach with TMK

So my tv has a ton of options (music mode, pc mode, game mode, standard, etc.) in the menu screen.

Game mode turns all the extra stuff off automatically (black correlateors, ambient sensors, motion flow...) and I adjusted the brightness, slightly, from there, and I can see all but the top left square. Well I can see it very very slightly, which Im guessing is the point.

Played Reach for 4.5 hours last night (through level 6).

Loving it so far. The space battle sequence kicked ass--which surprised me as I usually hate vehicle sequences in Halo games.

Ewww, wtf Capcom. Dante looks like shit, and this disappoints me to no end. Ugh. And now Valkyria Chronicles 3 is coming out on PSP, it's like Sega is trying to not sell the game at all. I have a PSP and I bough VC2, but let's face the facts here, the game would sell much better if on a console.

Hey guys, I have an idea, let's create an engine for a niche game then put both of its sequels on a portable system that will only sell well in Japan! It's a waste of time, effort and money, but hey, we're Sega, they'll understand.
 
Well the sales numbers of VC for the PS3 were initially infamously abysmal. That's why you had people with sigs begging others to buy the game. It's probably sold fine though, especially for being at such a low price for the past year or so.

Just saying, if you consider how cheap it is to make a PSP game compared to a PS3 title, and the fact that they'll probably get solid sales -- it's a smart move. And the developer said he doesn't want to go back to PS3 until they whip up a fresh change to the formula.
 
1) Valkyria Chronicles being on PSP is a bad thing, as it is inherently worse as a result.

2) I really hope Capcom pulls an RE2 with DMC5, meaning that they complete scrap it and do it right.

I mean seriously. Outsourcing is the worst thing to happen to the gaming industry since Kudo Sunoda's birth.
 
Haha distgfx, that pretty much sums it up. Being a huge supporter of the first Valkyria Chronicles and loving every minute of it, I don't think the game needs a new formula at all. It was already a new take to SRPG's, and it balanced everything so well. Not to mention the watercolor graphics were so beautiful.
 
whatever, its Sega. The company's modus operandi is to throw buckets of money at crap that doesn't sell and to fuck up Sonic eternally. They should have gone for VC on PS3, where people in the U.S. would actually play it. I doubt the PSP sequel will sell even 30k in the U.S.
 
I have yet to play VC2. If they improved the narrative and character writing though, I don't see why it couldn't surpass the original.

And I don't see why you guys think the West eats up VC games. Beyond gaming forums, it's non-existent.
 
Wow... that DMC trailer looks like trash.
I'd have been a lot happier if it was a spinoff with Nero as the main character, maybe Dante as an unlockable model for later. :(

That would have been a much better idea. I actually enjoyed DMC4 and I thought Nero was an ok charatcer, I wouldn't mind another game with him in it. But this new DMC just makes me cringe.

Man, they're supposed to be trying to make BETTER games these days -- Heavenly Sword was okay, but it was short and something felt off...

So what do they do to follow up? Work with Capcom to finally destroy a once great franchise.
