I guess I'm just not 100% subscribed to the whole electronic download system yet. I'd still prefer a disc and feel like the more I spend on a downloadable game, the more I'm getting ripped off or missing out on something. Anyone else feel the same way?
Digital distribution has some good points, but I don't like throwing more than $10 down on a download. For one thing, sales usually don't happen. Plus, I like being able to sell a game later, and I like having a physical copy. I don't feel like I own my DL games, but I'm merely licensing them, Also, I like being able to play a game without needing an internet connection. I can't play Geometry Wars without one, for example. MS should have set the 360 up like Steam and let you authorize your console to play your XBL games offline.
I'd say overall, Steam > PSN > XBL as far as what I prefer in a DD solution. Steam is way more flexible, and isn't tied down to any set hardware. PSN gives me 5 downloads per game, and I wouldn't have to be connected to the internet to play them if I had a new PS3.
