I thought it was fun, and different form the other R&Cs. I haven't played it since it came out, though, so I'm not sure if I'd feel the same way now.
The demo for Deadlocked made it seem like it was a game comprised entirely of the bad objective based sections of the third game. My flatmate used to buy the R&C games for me for Christmas (cause I liked them, but also cause he wanted to play the newest one and I owned the PS2 ;) ). We avoided Deadlocked like the plague when it came out.

I thought the general take on Deadlocked was in line with me and my flatmate's take, since the next game (size matters?) was a PSP version of the original trilogy and deadlocked style play/multi/whatever seemed to vanish.

You've pretty much got Deadlocked deadon, the entire game was pretty much just an arena match. I enjoyed it at the time, though. I've played all of them except Size Matters, I need to pick that up on PS2 eventually.

I was about to call them anyway actually, when the first number I called rang me back.
I guess I'll never get to meet them!

Creative puzzles, incredible story telling via gameplay?

Not sure if I could say anything bad about it, really. If the last level didn't do anything for you, you have a heart of steel.

I'm only in world 3, not that far in. The story isn't doing anything for me so far, though, idk how long the game is or if it gets better.

Oh I thought you finished it.

Still, not sure what to tell you. Not for everyone I guess.

Well you don't really learn too much about the story until the ending. But the ending alone makes it worth it, since it's one of the best endings of any game this gen. But even without the ending, the game still has some of the best puzzles ever, combined with a great visual style and music.

Aye, that I do.
I've played it from start to finish and I still don't think it's anything special.
I especially hate the artwork. Oh so much. Even more than SF4's art design.

The only other ending I can think of that I didn't think was anywhere near as great as I was told was HL2:Ep2.

I wouldn't go THAT far.

Personal favorite endings this gen (off the top of my head):
Bioshock 1 and 2
No More Heroes 1
Halo Reach (just me, personally, I loved it)
Alan Wake
Dead Rising
Mass Effect 1 and 2
MGS4
Devil May Cry 4
Well, really -- what endings this gen are really that great? I'd say my picks but GGT would bash me to hell.
I'm wondering this as well. The GGT loves to hate on games, but I'm curious what games they actually think have good endings.

Personally, for me the best endings this gen are Braid and Minerva's Den. And I do think the Darkness had some good story moments as well, but I don't remember the ending for some reason.

The Assassin's Creed games had cool stories/endings.
Same with RDRedemption.
I also thought GTAIV had a decent ending, albeit predictable.
Bioshock games were pretty decent.

That's just off the top of my head, based on personal preference.

You know what might have a good ending?

And GTAIV had a HORRIBLE ending.

The thing is, there aren't a lot of good modern-day game endings because most games either end with a nonsense plot twist/jump scare, an obvious cliffhanger for the next yearly sequel, or normal "and they killed the final boss dead and drove into the sunset". Or they try to do a lame morality system resulting in a good ending and a bad ending that are equally meaningless.

Started and finished Singularity in the past 2 days. Enjoyable though they could have probably left out British Alyx Vance and her ridiculous Mir-12 commercial. Very happy they let you load the final checkpoint so you can see all 3 endings.

Rockstar knows stories and whether you like or hate GTA4, at least it had a proper ending of some sort, a finale to the story. No stupid cliffhanger, no generic happy ending.

Mass Effect's final 1/3rd was great, too -- even if the overall ending was a bit happy and "wait for the sequel". The general climax of the story was awesome.

The problem was that GTAIV BARELY had an ending.
Either Roman or the dumb bitch you don't care about gets shot, then you do a stupid mission, and then you shoot the dude....and that's it, it just goes to credits. It felt like there should have been some kind of cutscene to wrap the game up, but it was just like...that's it. After retrying that mission 1000 times due to shitty checkpoints and shitty game mechanics I was pretty fucking underwhelmed.
