KH1 was good, but the second game was horrible.
I never understood why people say that. If its becasue you think the story is better in the first game then sure, I understand that, but otherwise the gameplay was far surperior in the second game.

Mainly the story. They tried to make the game way more epic than it had any business being.

Finally popping in SCIV in the PS3 now. Decided to do the install...about 57% in.

Won't get far tonite since I was mostly WoWing during my game time.

Also have PJE and Madden demo in the DL queue. I

I love KH2 much more then the first game. My only real problem with the game was that one boss you fought the second time you went to Beast's Castle.... Cheapest boss EVER!!!

Been checking out the announcements coming out of Squeenix's event this weekend. The FFXIII demo shipping with AC Complete seems to be the "big announcement" that was hinted at during E3. I'm laughing at all the fanboys who thought it would be an FFVII remake

Not to say that they won't make one eventually. Of course they will! It's Squeenix.
Square Enix has been pretty useless on home consoles aside from Tri-Ace.

X-2 and XII just aren't that good. Kingdom Hearts is a pretty good series though.
I know I'm in the minority here, but X-2 was the best thing Squeenix put out on the PS2, save for Dragon Quest VIII and the first Kingdom Hearts. Oh, and Front Mission 4. Sure, the story is largely light fluff, but its lighthearted tone, non-linearity, battle system, and Yuna being much less annoying than in X more than make up for it.

Agreed on FFXII, though.

I thought the gameplay was better in the first game. The second game's battle system felt more God-of-War-y and less challenging, and the worlds were far, far less interesting. However, the ending of the second game was very much worth playing the game for.

I just love the reaction commands, visiting my favorite Disney movie, and the story was great.

I remember that boss you are talking about. Took me time to beat it, but I played on normal mode.

I didn't think it would be a FFVII remake, but I didn't think it would be something as small as a demo. But what I want to know why FFVII: AC is going to take so long to come out on Blu ray? Who would have thought adding some dirt and a few new scenes would take so long.

Mana: I was playing on hard(or whatever the highest difficulty was in the game). But I heard he was still hard even on easy.

Holy crap. Are you serious?
Has anyone here purchased (or planning to purchase) Spectral Force 3?
I tried it. It's actually not bad, it's just that I don't think it's worth $60.

I tried Warhawk long enough to realize I really suck at the hovering aircraft thing. I got into a dogfighting match to see just how bad I was, and it was sad. Gonna take me a little while to get the hang of it, but I really want to get at least decent in the sky. Gotta practice some more I guess.

Otherwise, I played a little bit of FFX. I'm gonna try to beat the game sometime this weekend so I can move on to Xenogears. But so far, X hasn't been one of my favorite FF games. There's just so many things I don't like about it, but that's not to say its a bad game or anything. I've enjoyed playing it so far. Its got a pretty good story, better than several other FF games, but I'll save my gripes for a blog post after I'm finished with it.
The only thing good about X2 was the battle system... And the lack of Waka
 But seriously, Waka's voice was one of the few I actually don't mind in FFX. I cannot stand ANY of the female voices.

I HATED everything about Waka. He was the most annoying character that I have ever had the displeasure of having as a party member.

To be honest, I really wasn't thrilled with X either... X, X-2, XI and XII all just weren't as good as the others.

I like III DS though, and hopefully I'll enjoy IV DS (I loved the SNES II version as a kid).

X-2 had good mechanics, but in 2003 I was sick of dealing with random encounters and I hated the whole Charlie's Angels bit. X-2's fluff was just beyond the point of being tolerable.

The best in-house S-E game on PS2 was Kingdom Hearts II... that's not saying much.

Most who are playing Warhawk now are really good (I'm far from being as good). Dogfighting IMO is pretty fun once you get the hang of it (you gotta use the right analog stick to make tricks and stuff.
I actually liked FFX. One of the reasons I hate FFX-2 so much.
When it came out I liked it enough, but the PS2 RPGs that followed were just so much better.

That would be awesome Mana! Since Warhawk has gone GH and more people are picking it up, it would be cool if you and/or some of the other regular CAG players could organize a noob training night or two? I'd be down for that. I know Suko_32 and Jer just picked up copies so there's gotta be more CAGs who could use some help.

Also, I really want to be there to see that Mana Knight vs. Jer knife-fight.

I'm not really that great (although I've won a few times), but I'm the one who gets everyone talking during games.

Cool. I'm reading some of the Warhawk clan thread now. I doubt I'll be able to make most clan games tho, cause I usually work Fri and Sat nights. I'm only available at nights on Thur and Sun nights, but I'm usually available anytime during the day. I'm definatly gonna play some more this afternoon tho.

Finished Day 4. I am almost level 20 have a full wallet and am leveling my pins. This game is addictive. I will probably end up sinking 30 hours into it.

I meant X, X-2 I accept as having a better battle system, but the aesthetics/characters drove me nuts. I think I put maybe 4-8 hours into X-2 before putting it away for good.

But...he's Bender.
But...he's Bender.
That only makes me hate him more... since Bender is so awesome.

I hated the protagonist and his character design. I thought he resembled a duck and couldn't get over it. One day, I will finish the game. I sunk a good 10 hours into FFX and just couldn't get into it do to these things.

dood Parasite Eve 3 coming to PSP!!!

pe-aya06-3.jpg

never played thru PE before... time to bust out dat Popstation soon!!!

PE1 had so much potential... maybe it was cool in 98, but stuff like the slow running speed and the lack of mobility in combat made me not like the game. PE2 was basically RE. But not as good.

I'm disappointed that PE3's not on the PS3 or something, but I'll gladly take this over a cell phone game, and I definitely am excited as fuck about it.

Late to the party, but SCIV is good stuff. But fuck Namco for making The Apprentice better than Vader.

Still I lol @ the way I first started playing Vader...I looked like Jose Canseco with Tourette's at the Home Run derby.
I had the same problem with PE1.

Hey GGT. Anyone have a copy of Tales of Symphonia for trade?
I have ToS, but it was the only Tales game I finished and I'm a bit unsure about letting games go I finished.

Btw GGT, I made a blog post explaining why I'm holding off or unsure right now about continuing to buy RPGs. Some might be a little surprised (I did not exactly admit this to people before):
http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/blog.php?b=2034

I thought about posting it in the GGT yesterday, but changed my mind and made it a blog post.

I ended up watching Cloverfield instead of playing Tools of Destruction. Cool ass movie, when I bought it last month I payed less for it then what I would for a movie ticket. That's the only good way to buy Blu-ray movies. I hate paying more then $20 for a DVD.

I might have Tales of Symphonia what you got?

I went back and played some campaign on Halo 3 and got a couple of Metagame Achievements. Also played some PixelJunk Eden on Garden 2-2 and 2-3.

Played through Shock Troopers just as I planned to. What a good game. I forgot that there's basically 3 single player campaigns in the game.

Shock Troopers is badass.

Also late to the SCIV party, but it's pretty good. That's the best part of my week though. My car broke down on the way to get it. 45 minutes with my car on the left lane next to the median in a busy intersection. Good thing I have a friend that lives near there. He steered while I pushed the POS to the shoulder while a cop blocked traffic. Then I got SCIV and went home but didn't get to play it much since I had to go back to tow my car home. Today I found out that it will cost about $1000 to fix it, unless my brother can find an engine for it. Otherwise, it's totaled and I'll be selling the parts and whatnot. . .

Nope. And it's not a 3D0, either. Yeah, some CAGs seem to think Need for Speed 1 on there is a great game, but they clearly have some screws loose.

I'm not fielding any more guesses on the system though. I should be able to pick up my first two games (the only two that I absolutely must have) tomorrow.
