Can somebody tell me all the differences between the PS1 Chrono Trigger and SNES?

Do the cut scenes replace the in-game scenes with the animated versions?

Are there extra endings and such?
SNES is playable. The PSX isn't. I am not sure about the cutscene, question.

I am just going to sell FF Chronicles since I have CT on SNES and plan on getting FF IV for the DS (I've beaten the SNES version as well).

I thought I'd keep FFC as the definitive version of FF IV and CT (since their SNES batteries die), but I'm leaning toward the DS versions.

Yeah, DS version is looking like it'll be the definitive version of CT.

As for the cut scene thing, just to clear that up, an anime cut-scene will play, then the same scene in the game will play. So like where that one mountain gets split, you'll see the anime version and "ooh and ah" and then the SNES version. And you'll be like "wait, didn't that just happen." Oh well.

i finally played and finished FFXII.. gaddamn that game was good. i don't know what the haters were talking about. everything about that game was perfect except the final dungeon

the bahahmut should have been a proper dungeon. i was honestly a little surprised that you fight vayne so soon after getting in. i was prepared for a long battle to get to vayne, with a save point or two along the way, and it kind of just ends on you. my only quibble, everything else was fucking grand

and the music? it was GREAT :applause: some really memorable and beautiful tunes in that game, especially the one at the yellow save point in sochen cave palace and the rabanastre theme

took me 75 hours, did lots of the hunts too. i cannot wait for XIII.

I got two $10 Blockbuster cards and they sell retail games. I'm getting Madden at Gamestop so no go there. I might just get a 1600 point card.

so from what u guys said before dell xps is one of the better choices for a laptop that can play some games right?
i was gonna get this one asus but i cant find it anywhere anymore ><
anyway based on that whats one of the better models i can get in 1k-1.2k range
that or theres always mac which again i have no idea how to use

Picked up Warhawk w/headset for $30 at BB today and Initial D came in! Sadly, the Soul Calibur IV CE was snatched as I was browsing for Warhawk lol.

Hmm, Trauma Center is fun, even though it's really frustrating sometimes and I really hate the character art.

Condemned at 3 in the morning with headphones and all the lights off turns me into a fucking baby.

You are what you eat.

I am not implying you eat babies. I am stating as proven fact that can be upheld in court that you in fact do enjoy a nicely smoked baby back baby.

Eh, yeah.

So, I unplugged my 360 and plugged it back in and it seems to be working fine again...

Should I still just send it in when the coffin comes? It is an original build system before all the cooler chips and extra heat sinks.

Test it out all you want, it'll break down again - if mine was any indication 2 months ago
Test it out all you want, it'll break down again - if mine was any indication 2 months ago
Yeah, these things are really a matter of "when" not "if."

As long as I've got a ton of other stuff to play when I've got time, I might as well just send it in and get it fixed. Hopefully said fixing doesn't make it worse.

That's true. Word on the street (that I can relate to) is Microsoft is making sure repairs are handled better as shipping is costing them a fortune.

Let's just say this 360 has surpassed the 5 days my other one lasted...

I really should get back to playing that... but I think my sister lost the memory card with my save on it...

Have any of you guys seen Silent Möbius? I have been meaning to check it out for a while now... Also it seems Black Lagoon: The Second Barrage will be getting released this month. So many titles I really want to pick up this month and next month too. :bouncy:

I finally decided to finish Folklore. The final boss fight was really interesting too. The part after that really dragged on and on for a good 30 minutes (you have some control now and then). But overall, a satisfying ending if I do say so myself.

is it worth it? I havent touched a FF game in years since post FF8 was downhill IMHO...

It was made by the only devs in square I care about so that's a plus already.

FFXIII demo coming with FFVII:ACC, also includes Agito/VXIII trailers in March 09 (PS3 demo). VXIII also confirmed for worldwide exclusivity on PS3. Also, FFXIII has been confirmed for a 2009 release date in Japan.

http://psp.ign.com/articles/896/896049p1.html

The news is already flowing out from Square Enix's DKΣ3713 event in Tokyo today, and both PS3 and PSP owners should take note.

PSP owners now have two new titles to look forward two: Final Fantasy Agito XIII and The 3rd Birthday. Both titles were originally announced for cell phones, but Square Enix confirmed at the event that they'll be coming to the PSP as well. Agito XIII is listed as date TBA with The 3rd Birthday, a sequel to Parasite Eve, planned for 2009.

For PS3 owners, there's no word just yet of new game announcements. But we think news of a Final Fantasy XIII demo is just as good. Square Enix announced that it will bundle a demo version of FFXIII with the Blu-ray release of Final Fantasy VII Advent Children. In addition to a playable version of the first FFXIII series title, the disc will also contain new footage of Versus XIII and Agito XIII.

Advent Children Complete, as the Blu-ray version is called, hits Japan in March 2009. In addition to a standalone release, Square Enix is planning a hardware bundle that combines it (and the FFXIII demo disc) with the PlayStation 3 hardware.

The full Japanese release for FFXIII is officially set for 2009, Square Enix also confirmed for the first time today.

I guess Shane hyped something up yet again. But I guess that PSP stuff is kind of cool.

Chac: You picked up Simoun right? how was it? I'm in the mood to waste money on anime right now...

They didn't mention anything about a US release date. Europe can expect it in 2011 though. The Japanese date might be in the summer. Also, where the hell is Dragon Quest IX? Talk about Vaporware.

What little I played of FFXII, I thought it was a really great game. I was a huge fan of FFIX and didn't get into VIII.

Just watching a Banjo Nuts & Bolts gameplay video made me realize how Rare just really fucked this generation up bad.

A Rare of old's 360 lineup would look like...
2005 - A great PDZ that didn't have aiming issues among other things and Kameo I'll let slide.
2006 - Any other new IP instead of Viva Pinata, Killer Instinct 3, as well as KI and KI2 on XBLA.
2007 - Conker 360 and Conker's Bad Fur Day on XBLA.
2008 - Banjo Threeie, PDZ2, as well as Kazooie and Tooie on XBLA.

Instead we get a terrible PDZ, a mediocre Kameo, a garden building simulation, and a Banjo sequel primarily using vehicles.

Kazooie and Tooie are coming to XBLA in case you didn't know.

I enjoyed PDZ. Nothing great, but it was pretty decent, for a launch game. Never got into Kameo and Viva Pinata is awesome. I never played a Banjo game, so I don't know what to expect. I would love a new Conker game. Rare hasn't been great like they were on the N64, but I would take this Rare over the Xbox Rare.

As far as fighters go, how "intense" is the Soul Calibur series? I've never really been big into fighters, but my interest has been really piqued by this series. Is it worth trying to find a cheap copy of Soul Calibur II, for someone who isn't a huge, super-technical fighting nut?

EDIT: Also, which is better, the Xbox or Gamecube version?

I was under the impression only Kazooie is coming.

I'm pretty sure it's just Kazooie; the "announcement" of Tooie was just speculation.

I'd be more excited for FFXIII PSP and Parasite Eve if they weren't, you know, Cell Phone ports.

woot! Preseason starting this week!

Hopefully my 360 gets back soon enough to load up the custom rosters into 2K5 and play some games :)

Square Enix has been pretty useless on home consoles aside from Tri-Ace.

X-2 and XII just aren't that good. Kingdom Hearts is a pretty good series though.

Seriously? I liked FF VIII(which is by far my least favorite FF game) more than I enjoyed KH. I think those games are garbage. It isn't the Disney settings, cause I love Disney. I really wanted to like the games. The concept was cool. Something just didn't sit well.

I am not a fighter fan, but I played many hours of SCII on the GCN. I also think that is the best version. If you want the Xbox, I have one for sale. It is a PH version though, but sealed. You can't go wrong with either version.

Alright, yeah. I'm going to the Flea Market this weekend and I'm going to poke around for a copy, but if I don't find one there I might just take you up on that.

EDIT: For future reference, how much are you selling it for?

Oh I meant as of late...

I enjoyed a lot of their PS1 titles as well as SNES.

On PS2 I like Tri-Ace's stuff and KH.

Oh, I know what you mean. I was just saying, I just don't see the appeal to the KH games(besides the settings and concept) and comparing it to another game by Square that I had to force myself to play.

I thought FFXII was a really good title and a set back in the right direction. I think both the KH games and FFXII is a love hate kind of game. I don't think I have heard of people having luke warm feelings about either.

Also, I am on day 4 of TWEWY and don't know if I am power leveling or not. I am really digging the combat and anyone who doesn't like this game(sorry Mana) hates fun! ;)

The only good thing about KH2 was the combat. Which was far far far superior to the first.

Also, KH and KH2 are two of the worst backtracker offenders of all time. People need to cut DMC4 some slack.

Uh oh, someone speaking bad of KH...

In before you know who.

I didn't care for KH2 at all. Played through 1 and don't really remember much from it lol.

But you know what I do care about?

SOULCALIBUR IV is a freakin' GOOD game... I'm glad it's not crazy broken like SC III (yet ;x) !
