Uncharted is pretty solid. Just know that it's a flawed "solid" and you'll be all set. Not worth $60 though, nor is Ratchet.
Do you like Ratchet and Clank? If so, I highly recommend getting FTOD. It was my first game for the tripple and it was glorious. Really shows off what the system is capable of.
The game really rocks. One of my favorites on PS3.

I've been playing tons of Burnout Paradise, and getting tons of trophies. I'm almost on level 5 with trophies.

As for Wipeout, I have to play it offline unfortunately until there's a patch. Outside of that, I'm loving it. Music is basically the same as the PSP one. I can listen to custom music if I want also (but haven't tried).

I finally opened ToV but didn't play long.

I'm now pushing CAG nights for Burnout Paradise. We also plan to push CAG nights for Wipeout HD later this week (hopefully sometime on Thursday).

I fucking love how I didn't realize the gamestop B2G1 was going on when I ordered my shit. I would have bought Street Fighter along with Yakuza and KoF. Might have to return this shit if I get a chance to go up.

BRING I!

Macross F was hot... I was satisfied with it. Much more than the last series.... 0
I hate to admit it but Code Geass R2 grew on me. Sure it was a bad show and all. But something about it mad me love it (probably something to do with Pizza Butt and Kallen). Also Macross F could have been the worst thing ever and I would have still loved it because of Klan Klan.

You're pretty easy to win over with anime shows haha... all it needs are cute/hot chicks?

You've only seen up to 12 in Frontier... keep watching, I guarantee you'll like it more (esp since you like Klan)...

Well Code Geass was just so bad at times that I couldn't help but love it. But I would be lying if I said the girls didn't help keep me watching.

As for Macross F, I have already had the whole series spoiled for me since I browse /m/ regularly. So I know just how much more I'll love Klan. :)

MGS4 is good, but not good enough to buy a system for.. The story is pretty shit, and about halfway through it turns into a 75% story game..

I might have enjoyed Ratchet and Clank if it wasn't all fucked up on my monitor and forced 480p awfulness. Uncharted was a good 5 hour game that was unfortunately 12 hours long.

Warhawk is kind of fun, but nobody uses headsets. Motorstorm is good too. Not much else worth playing that comes on a disc, unfortunately.

Couldn't resist

So I'm back on campus. I managed to snag Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and Dark Cloud while I was at Gamestop this weekend. Hopefully that'll be $18.xx well spent. Though I think Dark Cloud(what I remember of it) will justify the costs.

Also, Puma, I'm gonna shoot you some paypal and download Megaman.

There's no error in what he said.

He's saying at the halfway point they story takes over and you spend 75% of the time watching cutscenes etc.

At least that's how I read it....

I know what he meant, it was just the way he worded it. Spoil sport.

This is the fanboy in me stepping up, but if you love, and I mean LOVE the Metal Gear series and have played the first 3 time and again and have a shit ton of "inside jokes" with your friends who have also done the same, then Metal Gear 4 is nothing short of amazing.

However, I do agree that it was a lot, a lot, a lot of cut scenes. But I'll be damned if I didn't enjoy them.

that was what I meant.. Those cutscenes after act 3 or whatever were just awful. I don't see why people praise that game for the story..

I was really wanting to just play more of the game, because acts 1 and 2 were really, really good.

I didn't really have anything else to do this weekend, so apart from studying random shit, I played through Under Defeat again. That game never ceases to kick ass.

Exactly. I loved the game.

I'm hooked on that casino in Dragon Quest 4. Betting on monster battles is so much fun! I've got like 6000 tickets so far.

Dragon Quest IV > Anything Atlus has ever done.

I hate atlus. A lot.

No, the MOST.

Jer, did you ever play SMT Nocturne? I'd agree with you as far as Etrian Odyssey or really, most stuff Atlus puts out, but a lot of those games in the SMT series are really, really damn good.

I retired DQ IV tho... :(

DQ IV is hot.

So are Megaten gamez.

HOTz.

Yea sometimes I feel like I'm not gettin' my moneys worth out of my PS3. But then I think to myself. Why the fuck do I have 3 PS3s?

Word.

Be that as it may, I have this cake...

Is there a certain order of levels you should go in with Mega Man? Cuz like, I'm either really rusty, or this game is tough.

MGS4 is awesome, but pretty much a huge failure in retrospect. Chapters 1,2, and the beginning of 3 are great, then...it's fun, but it's like "this is nice, but where's mgs..."

I hope MGS4 ----istance has some mission modes or chapters 4 and 5 completely rewritten.

Yea, looking back. I really do agree with you. 4 was awesome but the gameplay could have been much more... I would have liked if that 'area' was filled with soldiers.

---

Ahadi; yes as with all Mega Mans there is a specific order that makes it easier to through the game. It's not something you have to abide by, but it makes things a lot easier in the boss fights.

---

Metal Gear Online actually isn't that bad. I can say with confidence that I think it's better than how SOCOM Confrontation currently is lol.
Hey, when did they cast Seth Rogen on The Amazing Race?
When they wanted to ensure that nobody laughs at that piece of shit excuse for a show.
Chac fuck you. TAR is the best reality show on TV. And anything with Gordon Ramsey is ass.
You sound a lot like somebody who'd watch Psych at 8.

I tried nocturne, but lost interest quick. It takes a lot for a non-portable JRPG to be worth my time these days. By that I mean it better be the best thing ever and the battles better be over in less than 15 seconds each.

God I hate JRPG battles. Why are they even there? Why don't they make a JRPG where you just get experience for walking and you only fight boss battles. That way I can wander around the fields without having to worry about button pressing. Then I could at least flip the input over and watch something good.

Chapter 4 was fucking amazing. And VR missions suck.

No kidding. I hate turn based combat these days. Will never buy another game with turn based combat.

I'd been sick of it for years, and Mass Effect just killed any interest I have. Hopefully the shooting mechanics will be more refined in a sequel as I loved having a RPG/shooter blend but the shooting gameplay could have been much more fluid.
I remain convinced that Mass Effect 2 does not exist.
It better! It 'smy third favorite game so far this gen, behind Gears of War and Bioshock.
...I don't get it.
It was a reference to LinkinPrime.

But whatever. Watch your silly Amazing Race show.

At least you still like Dexter, which is legit enough.

I need to get some Santana CDs... anyone who doesn't like Santana is probably also gay.

What to play tonight!? I don't want to play study for classes anymore. I don't even have to study :(

Chapter 4 gave me blue balls. I agree with markman that there needed to be real soldiers there. Otherwise it's like "hmmm, nice re-done environment...too bad I'm not playing Metal Gear Solid in it." The last part and boss fight were pretty exhilarating, but once again, not metal gear.

The whole game wasn't Metal Gear, which is probably why I wasn't too bothered by the lack of soldiers in that part. But though MGS4 didn't feel much like MGS at all, I still enjoyed the fuck out of it.

But I was thinking... I'd really like to see a Metal Gear game that's got completely new characters, events, settings - everything. I remember when I first saw the original MGS how freakin' cool it was. The bosses were badass, the story was great, and the whole game felt really gritty. I feel like as the series went on, it lost the spark that came with having an awesome new story you're completely unfamiliar with.
I didn't know you came equipt with a vagina.
I'd laugh....if I wasn't sitting here watching it myself. It's been my guilty pleasure since the first season!
DQ IV is hot.
I saw the game for $50 at Wal-Mart B&M. No joke.

Yea sometimes I feel like I'm not gettin' my moneys worth out of my PS3. But then I think to myself. Why the fuck do I have 3 PS3s?

Word.
I don't have enough PS3 consoles. I play my PS3 at least 20 hours per week and can even go up to 50-60 hours some week. Despite how much I play it, I still have a backlog of games I'm working on (like Wipeout HD, Buzz, etc.). I

Why the fuck do you want to buy more PS3s?

I've decided I'm going to finally get an HDTV come black friday. I sit like 7 feet away from the TV, is 32 inches enough?

Probably "enough" but you could do a lot bigger. I set about 9 feet from my 50" and often wish it was bigger.

Guess my point is 32" may be ok for you (check some out and see) but don't think that something bigger would be too big for that distance. TVs "shrink" after you get used to having a bigger TV.

I'd never go back to anything under 50" for my main TV again personally.
Why the fuck do you want to buy more PS3s?

I've decided I'm going to finally get an HDTV come black friday. I sit like 7 feet away from the TV, is 32 inches enough?
A few reasons. When I move out, I want one back at my parents house (if I got back every few weeks) and 1-2 at my apartment (one in my bedroom and one in my living room). I hate leaving consoles on for longer than 2 hours and by having two PS3 consoles, I can alternate playing them. Plus, I just really want a newer PS3 that uses less power (I don't give a crap about PS2 BC since I never use it in my 20GB). The one I leave at my parents house (if I choose to do that) will have the default HDD while another one will have a 320GB HDD or larger (if larger is available). Mine will stick to 250GB. Both would be used for games, media, online servers and stuff.

I may also buy a 2nd 360 also down the road, so it's not just PS3.

I sit 6-7 feet away and 32" is barely big enough for me. I want to get a 40+" TV in my room. In some games, it's difficult for me to see clearly enough since my TV isn't that big (like the Burnout Paradise mini-map on my 32" HDTV). But for most, it should be all right. That's my setup right now (it's in my CAG Photo Album).
