I've always thought it very brave of you to publicize your real name.

Brave. ;)

I only give out my first name publicly. It's hard to guess. ;)

Shit, no Yakuza 2 today either. Will I ever finally finish it? Game is so good that I feel like I'm betraying Sega by not playing it.

Castlevania, KoF: Orochi Saga, and Bleach: Dark Souls... all of these look like they will be awesome. Legend of Kage 2 may also be worth looking at, since that got some favorable impressions when it was released in Japan.

Surprise! who would have thought I'd want this?! My real thin excuse is that I want a party game for my family, and my dad loves to sing (badly... he won't admit it) and I want my mom to play drums.

Little Big Planet

no surprise there... so far my predicted GotY, but I can see that not holding up to be honest.

Fallout 3

The other game that may or may not be a GotY contender

Valhalla Knights 2

Didn't realize this was out today... genna probably rent it if I get gamefly this month... I will say I am very surprised I liked the first one so much...

King of Fighter Orochi Saga

Nuff' said.
nice vid ReRo...booked it as a favorite
thx meng.

I'm currently working on a new one... less game oriented, but I know everyone will like the soundtrack since that'll be chiptune heaven.

I'm pretty bad at Wipeout. It seems like there's some fundamental thing I'm not getting. Probably just need to play it more. I'm only on the second grid of races. It's still awesome though.

one thing that helped me was this:

hug the near wall on turns and learn to use airbrake (both holding and double tap).

I just switched the airbrake to L1 and R1 since those triggers are so awful. Might actually make more use out of it now.

actually, the R2/L2 triggers work better since you can be more analog with your steering. I will say this is the first PS3 game I've played that the R2/L2 triggers feel perfect.

switch them back and use them more and you'll see.

side note... I'm not a morning person... I hate getting up early >_<

I need a cigar or something...
I'm convinced they just decided "this gen, let's reduce functionality by 75%."
no they just realized that their XMB was more functional than the 360 dashboard (read: menu lag) so they wanted something to even it out.

I'm calling in sick from work today. First time in almost forever...

I need to handle some life stuff and paperwork... but man. I'm gonna game today.

DQIV on the road and probably some T5DR practice mode at home...

The triggers do strangely work on WipEoutHD, but 360/Dreamcast style would still be preferable.

As to why you're having trouble, daroga, I was having the same problem on the PSP ones, but you've just really got to learn the tracks and when to airbrake and how. I also use the D-Pad instead of the analog for WipEout.

A lot of WipEout is getting the flow of the tracks down where you never really have to stop, you just get that perfect line where you flow through corners and hit speed pads. Also, make sure you're getting gold on any time trials or speed laps before hitting the races and tournaments, this makes you much more familiar with the tracks in that grid and will help you get gold on those too.

I need to get a new router. I'm almost completly convinced that most of my connection issues stem back from my router (Linksys WRT54GS , which I've heard was a reputation for being kinda crappy) so does anyone have any suggestions for one?
Clearly enough experience to make a distinction.

So are you guys ready for TEH NEWW EXBOXX EXPERIENCZEZ?!
I'm hyped to install games and watch netflix on 360, but I could do without the avatar bullshit.

Yeah, after redoing races a few times, detemined to get first, I started to get more in the "flow" of the track. It's a racing game, certainly, but it's almost a rhythm game too.

I need to memorize all those crazy weapons too. At this moment, the little pictures don't mean much to me.

Essentially, I just need to learn how to play the game. ;)

Yeah the first time I played wipeout on PSP I didn't get it either.. I was trying to play it like F-Zero or something.

I do like wipeout, but truth be told I enjoy the F-Zero style of futuristic racing better. Wipeout feels a lot slower more rhythmic (like you said) vs F-Zero's balls to the wall style.
Ahaha, those boxers are ballin'. The analog sticks mark where your nads may be.
I'd love to wear those PlayStation boxes while sleeping with a hot girl. ;)
Dose awe rawsoooome! Warhammer online is rawsome! School is not rawsome...
School is awesome. :D

I'm also very happy about Bomberman coming to PSN. :D I need to buy it on Wii Ware also.

I don't get the new dashboard hate. Game installation + netflix are awesome features. The more like my PC a console is, the better.

Though it'll never catch up...

same here. I can understand about avatar hate, but a new dashboard is great... mainly because of the damn lag and buggyness of the current dash.

Downloading the Sacred 2 demo right now... wonder if this'll be good. The first game was really, really, really, really, really, really repetitive, but it wasn't bad. Hopefully they've improved this dramatically, though. The demo's like 1.7 gigs, which is fucking ridiculous.

I'm lovin' the Fracture ads popping up on IGN. The game looks so damn generic, I can't even believe they're releasing it still. It looks like it'll play out like "some dude with scars. You play as him. Use guns. Use unique power. Fight bad enemies to save the day." In other words, a clone of Mercenaries 2, which itself was pretty damn uninspired.

Do you still have to look like a queer with your avatar?

They should introduce those shitty things they were talking about at E3 like that movie maker thing. I'll make a TV show using the avatars called "Black Eye For the Queer Guy."

I'm just hoping Bayonetta doesn't become another one of those games that's cool, but takes for fuckin' ever to come out. Like Final Fantasy XIII. Game looks so damn cool.

Bayonetta looks pretty well on its way, at least compared to FFXIII, which may or may not be a CG movie. Spring seems like a lock for it. There's supposed to be a huge blow out on the game at TGS.

edit: I don't think this guy has ever said anything I disagree with ("these games" = hardcore action games):

Wow, you guys buy a lot of games. Do you actually play all those games, or just buy them just to have them?

Also, as far as Wipeout Vs F-Zero goes, F-Zero GX is the best as far as futuristic racing games go. However, F-Zero GX is the only F-Zero game I like. The others just aren't very good.
You're right - they're adding incentive to quit gaming altogether!

I'm assuming you're joking about a $65 controller, though.
If only Chac... if only. Ah well, since it comes with the play n' charge kit basically, it ain't that bad.

The new dashboard's cool, I just don't like the way they're marketing it.
I thought Bayonetta was a Wii game for some reason. That video is awesome.
The same developer's doing MadWorld for the Wii; maybe that's where you got confused.

Been playing a bit more of FFX-2. Finally beat that boss on lvl 80 of the 100 lvl dungeon, after about 30 some tries. Quite coincidentally, the boss's name was Chac and it kept getting my girls stoned and taking advantage of them. Go figure.

I picked up this 3rd party PS3 controller on an Amazon lightning deal last week:
31WswEPZIAL._SL500_AA280_.jpg

It arrived sometime yesterday afternoon, and I just got to try it out. Its not a bad controller. The D-pad sucks balls, and the analog sticks are just slightly too close together, but the L2/R2 triggers are very similar to the 360 controller.

I tried it out on Wipeout, and it worked really well. I was having trouble on one of the races in the third grid, and after playing it and loosing about 10 times with the DS3, I gained first after my first race using this controller.

All in all, not a bad controller for about $15.
