Ghostbusters (PS3) discussion thread
No, you can just replay the mission sections to get all scans, artifacts, and water fountains which is what I did (even though I missed only like 1 of each). After you get them, you can load right back to the main menu and go to the next one.
Good to know! I just finished the single player game and I apparently missed some scans and artifacts. Does anyone know where I can find a text only list of all of the scans & artifacts in the game? I'd like to be able to compare it to what I've collected so far so I can pinpoint the few I'm missing.

I'd be willing to join my fellow CAGs in the multiplayer mode. I don't have time right now but later tonight I will probably be on there.
ps3trophies.org had a pretty good guide that listed locations for artifacts, ghosts and fountains.
Thanks. I thought it was going to be harder to figure out which artifacts I'm missing b/c I didn't realize it would show you how many you had from each mission.

I finished rounding up all of the artifacts and finally got some multiplayer time in. I like the on-line missions. Feel free to add me to your friends list! I look forward to getting some more multiplayer time in soon!

I still need some multiplayer love.. part of me is waiting for them to patch it up first. But the other part of me is wanting to get back in ASAP.

I guess you can't just replay the final battle on Professional difficulty to get the "Are you a God?" trophy. I completed the game on the middle difficulty level my first time through. I'll also need to replay it to get my damage count down to earn the 'Nice Shootin' Tex" one.

Does anyone know what you have to do to get the platinum trophy yet??

For all of the stupid stuff they give trophies for I can't believe they don't give one out for listening to all of the answering machine messages throughout the game.
There are answering machines?
After every mission people leave messages for the Ghostbusters on the answering machine upstairs. Before I looked at the trophy list I sat there and listened to all of them because i thought surely it would lead to at least a bronze one.

Does property damage skyrocket if you accidentally cross streams? I am going for my second playthru trying to keep it under $100,000. I only had like $3,000 worth of damage and as I'm working one of the Opera singer ghosts over I see the damage ticker just go nuts and add $50,000 out of nowhere!

EDIT: Mother fucker!, it just did it to me again this time for over $80,000 in damage! Now I have to start over!

I was reading on another forum that the best way to do this is put it on easy and just kind of hang out and let the other ghostbusters do most of the work. After somehting like the 5th chapter (or around there) the damage does not go up. So if you ar going after the low damage trophy just hang out - if you are going after the high damage one spend your time shooting EVERYTHNG you can. I still need to go back and do both of these.

That might be part of my problem. I was trying to do two things at once in my second run, < $100,000 and Professional skill level. Not a good combo. At first I just sat around and let the others do the dirty work but then I was like "this is taking forever!" and I joined the action.

You're right, if I could just make it past the damage levels I would be OK.

Aren't the opera ghosts in Times Square? All the cars and vehicles scattered around there are worth tons of money in damages, and I wouldn't be surprised if crossing the streams destroys everything in a small area.

I misread the "Destructor" requirements as $300,000 in damage and thought wow, no sweat. Then I finished the game and realized it's actually $3 million. :cold: I'll pick that up on another playthrough.

Yeah, that's part of the Times Square level. I'm guessing that's what happened to me. I was firing at a ghost over the area to the right of the opera house. Two of the other Ghostbusters started firing at him and then all of the sudden the damage meter went crazy. There is a bus and several cars on the street in that area.

The save system is a double-edged sword as far as this game goes. It makes it easy to go back and collect missing artifacts and get the Destructor trophy but when going for the "Nice Shootin' Tex!" trophy you can't just quit and start the level over. If you get a couple chapters in and you make a big mistake you are fucked and have to start the career over.

Yeah playing on the hardest level will unlock both of the trophies that depend on finishing the game on a certain difficulty.

For "Nice Shootin' Tex!" you really just need to be careful in Time Square and the Museum. If you aren't just going nuts and blowing stuff up in the hotel, it shouldn't be too bad- and you can't damage anything in the last 2 parts of the game.

lol some of them were hilarious.
I can't remember the one word for word, but the one that made me chuckle was when a fisherman called in because he was afraid to "cross the streams" with his buddies when he went fishing.

Trying for the Nice Shootin' Tex on Professional level is not a good idea. I'm still stuck on the Manhattan level. Ray and Egon need to get their lazy asses out of the car and help bust those opera ghosts! I find that if I lay back and let Winston and Peter try to bust the ghost they take forever and get their asses kicked constantly. If I step in to help I have to be extremely careful because one misfire and I do $80,000 in damage by taking down a car or bus. It's very frustrating.

They never dodge and they constantly let their proton packs overheat.
If you're trying for NST on Pro, you're crazy.
It's possible- just a pain.

I only had 2 SP trophies left- NST and Pro trophy- and I got them both in 1 play through (basically) via a glitch.

I started a new game on pro, and I played until the beginning of the library stage before I realized I was going to break my dollar cap since the other GBs don't really help you on hard.

So I decided to switch to "easy" and just focus on the NST trophy. After I was done- I went through and played the 1st and last checkpoint of each chapter on pro (in no particular order, but ending with the last checkpoint) and I got the trophy.

Yes I'm insane. The last two single player trophies I need are NST and Are You a God? I thought I would go for both in one final playthru.

I've now gotten through the Manhattan level and the library with just under $50,000 worth of damage. I think $40,000 of that came when I misfired and damaged a car.

You can't damage anything in other dimensions, on the island, or in the cometary. So if you can make it through the hotel again without breaking 50,000, you should be good to go.

The museum is the last major hurdle I have to pass. You can do some crazy damage if you hit some of the exhibits.

I'm finally in the clear on my NST run. I'm on the island level with around $70,000 worth of damage done. I was using the slime tether on the civil war ghosts to minimize damage and inadverantly picked up the slime trophy that I had forgotten all about.

The Collector boss battle was a huge pain in the ass on Pro. As soon as you pull the guys mask off and he goes into "mad cow" mode Ray and Egon get thrown around like rag dolls. It's all I could do just to keep at least one of them alive at all times!
yea- the trick is to just keep portal hoping from one end to the other.
I would do that but those dumb fucks will just walk right up in front of him and get throttled! How about DODGING an attack once in awhile!

That also drove me nuts on the Manhattan level. They would stand right in front of the opera ghosts and take the full brunt of their scram attack or they would sit there and get worked over by the gargoyles and the drunk ghosts tossing the one-hit-kill fire bombs.

The last two slimers in multiplayer, people are saying they are glitched and won't come out which of course are the last two most wanted I need lol. Haven't been on for a while, wonder how far I've fallen off the leader boards. My record on the graveyard was pretty good too.

I finally completed my NST run on Pro. I was right in the middle of a multiplayer campaign where I was kicking some ass and I booted off my wireless connection. I keep forgetting that whenever someone answers the phone (cordless 2.4 MHz) it kills my wireless signal.:bomb:

I tried to get a quick multiplayer game going this morning but it must've been too early for U.S. Players. I got kicked out of every single match I tried b/c of that stupid incompatible map issue.

So I guess only the cash you earn doing campaigns in multiplayer count towards your overall online rank? I have over $12 mil earned but it only shows me at like $7 mil on the leaderboard. I've been doing a lot of instant matches lately trying to rack up one win in each job type at each location for the GMW trophy.

Hmm... No there are ranked and unranked matches. Pretty sure you can do instant matches that are ranked.

I've never played an unranked match. When I enter a game it shows my total cash at about $12.5 Million but when I look at myself on the leaderboards my rank is around 170th and my total cash shows me at just over $8 million.

It seems to me like instant ranked individual matches don't count towards your leaderboard total but ranked campaign matches do. Like it only counts the cash if you play an entire three mission campaign but it doesn't if you just play individual missions.

EDIT: I hope at some point they patch this game. I'm having a blast with multiplayer but the glitches are annoying. Sometimes the game will just freeze up in the middle of a campaign. I'm sick of the "wrong map version error" and sometimes you can't complete a campaign because of ghosts getting stuck "outside" of the level or my personal favorite one of the statues not coming to life. One game all four of us had to cross streams so we could get out of survival on the Egypt level.

Glad to see there's FINALLY been an official announcement about a patch for this game. I can't tell you how many times I've had to completely reboot my PS3 b/c it froze in the middle of a match!

Internet says the patch was released. Fixing the resolution, other bug, and unlocking the last trophies. I would check myself if my PS3 wasn't possessed by a poltergeist right now (aka broken). :)

Yep the patch is out! I signed on to get a quick game in b/f work and got the update notification. Both the Polar and Glutton slimer popped out in my very first campaign played! (Some lucky intern got credit for them thanks to me triggering them). I wasn't able to play very long but I didn't see any signs of freezing or glitching.

so now the internetz can take back their statments about the ps3 version being a joke? supposedly this is the better version now?
They seem to have just made things worse. It doesn't match the 360's resolution, either.
For me it doesn't seem to be glitching nearly as bad as before the patch but I di freeze up again at least once. As far as the supposed "resolution fix" I just don't see it. The game looks the same as before the patch to me.

I finally got the Payday! trophy to trigger. Only one more to get, Gozer's Most Wanted. I wish there was a way to look at your stats and know which of the missions you've completed. Does completing the job count when it's done as part of a campaign or do you have do them all in instant matches? I really hope they count either way because I've beaten most of them while playing in campaigns.

On Payday do you have to complete each section and be top earner? I've gone through a few rounds and been highest earner each time but we didn't always finish the round.

Not sure on the other one either.

I just triggered the Gozer's Most Wanted trophy! I guess I answered my own question. Looks like completing the jobs in either does the trick.

As far as the Payday trophy is concerned I'm not sure if you just have to be the top earner for each job or you have to also complete the job for it to count.

After the 3.0 system update, I now have 97% of this completed compaired to the 80 something before... BUT I still need two trophies. Gozer's and Payday, no idea what is up with this thing as I can't get them to apply.

For Gozer's I finally had to make a checklist to mark off the jobs as I completed them in each setting. I'm not sure what caused Payday to trigger but I finally got it (it triggered when my career cash hit somewhere in the upper 30 millions).
