Info
The ancient world speaks of a mortal that slayed a God. But long before his battle with Ares, Kratos sought absolution from his past sins by pledging himself as a champion to the Gods. These brutal crusades in the name of Olympus became legendary.

The Ghost of Sparta is now ordered by the Gods to journey the underworld, after the world plunges into darkness. There he must face the most feared creatures of Greek Mythology and forced to choose between his own personal redemption and saving the ancient world from certain destruction.

Alright ... I guess it's time for me to pick up GoW and play it on my PS2. Sucks that I have a backlog of 360 games and my PS2 is flaking out, but the series has gotten great reviews and I'd like to play this on the PSP when it comes out. Very cool ...
Hmm...might be my first PSP game purchase since who knows when.
How are the fish boting in your side of the boat?

Cool, we already got R&C, and now a new GoW. Things might be looking up for PSP. Now if only there were good, original IPs exclusive to PSP . . .

I don't truly understand this mentality. Plus, this is always one of the biggest knocks of the PSP. The PSP has plenty of great games, which may or may not be inspired by existing series. Additionally, a lot of the games are on par with the existing games of their series. As far as the original IPs, they exist such as Lumines (originally) and Field Commander, but if the major developers are making superb games from some of the best series around I could care less. The era of the Portstation Portable has been over for quite some time.

Some new GoW: CoO info:
We didn't get the chance to go hands-on with the game at the event, but we were able to pick up more information on the control scheme so we can imagine how it plays. We should note that this control setup is not confirmed as final at this point, as the developers are still looking at things and figuring out how to tune them properly. But currently, the layout being kicked around puts block on the L button, magic on R, and evading on the analog nub when players hold down L and R simultaneously (with magic selections on the D-pad). The main drawback of this versus the PS2 controls seems to be that it will take a split second longer for players to think about how and then perform a roll, but given some of the control schemes other games have forced onto PSP -- and how many aspects were involved with God of War controls to begin with -- this seems reasonable and like a solid way to go.

It also helps drive home the point that the entire presentation seemed designed to prove: this is still God of War. It's still got most of the control features and the epic feel, and while we didn't get to see much of how the gameplay mixes in with the story, we're told it will be along the lines of what we've seen in past games. The visuals are also as good as we've seen on PSP, and the framerate in particular is looking very nice (a step up from what it looked like in the debut trailer).

Along with it are some gameplay videos (Watch: 1, 2; DL: 1, 2) (right-click + Save as).

I knew deep down that my decision to buy a PSP instead of replacing my DS with a DS Lite would pay off in the end. I just watched the trailer and it looks awesome. I loved GoW but lost my PS2 to the ex and am to cheap to buy a PS3 so I can't play 2. This will give me a little fix during my likely LONG wait for a price drop.

God of War has established itself as the God of March in recent years, as both previous PlayStation 2 iterations released during that month (in 2005 and earlier this year), and it appears that Sony will continue that trend with God of War: Chains of Olympus for the PSP.

Developer Ready at Dawn revealed to GameSpot today that Chains of Olympus will hit stores on March 4, 2008. While never officially dated prior to today, the title was expected to be available this holiday season, though rumors surfaced during the Leipzig Games Convention that a Spring 2008 release was in the cards.

As reported in June, a "special edition" demo for God of War: Chains of Olympus will be made available later this month, containing a playable level portion, behind-the-scenes footage, and other bonus content. Those who registered for the demo should receive their disc by mail at the end of September (or in early October), though it is currently unclear if there will be additional opportunities to obtain the demo.
We've got a release date. Seems like the spring will be good for Sony (MGS4, GoW: CoO).

Just got my demo, and the game is a lot of fun. They did a good job putting the series on the PSP. My only complaint is the roll function, which will take a bit of getting used to.

I still haven't gotten it yet. :whistle2:(

You can download the demo, which I did, because I just couldn't wait for it to come in the mail. The game is fantastic and could possibly be the best psp game we will ever get.

Rolling was awkward when I was trying to do it from a standstill, but tapping L+R while running makes for easy rolling.

Great demo, fantastic graphics, fun fun fun gameplay, definitely a day 1 pickup for me! I sort of wish the demo would've let you take out that huge monster at the end, though.

Man with what the demo has gone for on eBay its going to be hard to open mine, but I couldn't sell it because I love trinkets like the pendant thing. I collect too much stuff.. >_> Mine hasn't got here yet but I hope it will by tuesday.
Almost positive that's what he's talking about. ;)
Bingo, I think its perfectly legal to download a demo ISO. No one is losing money and I got to play it without waiting for the mail.
