gonna buy a 360 soon, what's the best deal?

CAGiversary!
I saw the deal at toys r us where you get a premium, cod2, and a wireless controller for $450

ANy better deals? Plus do you guys think if i keep my cod2 closed, can i return it for prey 15 days later?
Right around Xmas the price is going to drop close to $100 apparently to screw over Sony
Or not. I don't see a price drop in the next year. They are already well under the PS3 price point of $500 for the crap box and $600 for the good one. Also there won't be a PS3 to be had in any store this Christmas.

There is no incentive for them to drop the price. I'd be very surprised.

I got my current one on ebay brand new premium package for $371. That includes shipping and a copy for Forza Motorsport. It also came with a universal remote.

I know overstock is doing a deal where you can get up to 20% off (10% for your purchase, plus another 10 if you sign up for a overstock card or something).

I'll be getting another free as soon as FreePay starts shipping out their 360s.

Overstock is the best deal, just keep an eye out for when they come back in stock. I got my premium 360 from them 2 weeks ago for $342 shipped.

O yeah I forgot to say... For the love of God do not get Table Tennis... I bought it 1 day later I sold it on eBay.

I mean I could see how people would like it. But there is nothing to do but play the game. Single game, tournament (multiple games), or online... Repetitive after 2 rounds. I would rather play a game about raising 150 differnt creatures that evolve... Did they make a game like that yet/.

Is the Premium the one with the HD and all the other stuff?

Also if you live in the Midwest, Meijer has great deals where you can get upto 30% off. I bought a PSP Core, Me and My Katamari, Pursuit Force and a wired Xbox360 controller(for my PC) for under $250 total.

EBAY...ur a fool if u dont go on ebay. For 450 (NO TAX), u can get the premium 360 + 3 good games + extra contoller + WIFI adaptor (if u get lucky)

XBox 360s are selling for next to nothing (when compared to MSRP + tax) on ebay right now...the demand is at an all time low
eBay... I got a core, with the harddrive, wireless network adapter, oblivian, halo 2, and splinter cell CT, for $345 shipped. Yeh it was all used but its all in great condition... And considering I just sold the wireless adapter and oblivion on eBay, I just a premium 360 for like $210 shipped. Thats a deal.

lol nice job inflating the real price, u didnt sell oblivion+wireless adaptor for 135 + ebay/paypal fees + shipping

I'm also looking for some good Xbox 360 deals. I might try eBay, but the last I checked (a month ago) prices were not all that great.

Looks like it, but then again you're also taking on the risk of getting somebody's 360 that's on its deathbed. For me it wasn't worth the risk, but if you've got the cojones for it, by all means go for it.

Google it, there are many other sites too

I bet they will do this, Microsoft will do anything to screw over PS3!

Oh you know they will, jeez MS doesn't care about losing a little more money, they're f'in rich anyway, plus it's a smart move, people will buy the 360 over the double priced PS3 and the ugly looking Wii, I know I will

Circuit City has a coupon for 10% off purchases over a certain amount. I'm not sure of the minimum amount but the 360 definitely qualifies. You can get the coupon in store, just ask for the 7/4 coupon at customer service.

Toys R Us has a deal this week where, for $450, you get the system, another wireless controller, and Call of Duty 2. So it's basically a free COD2, which you can trade in somewhere else if you don't want.

I wish I could find a good deal on a 360 soon, because if I don't have one by July i'll just go ahead and buy it off newegg.

I found a Xbox 360 Premium in excellent condition for $365 w/ S&H last night, but I went to bed before I decided to make a move on it, and it was sold.

Just keep an eye on Overstock, that deal is hard to beat for a brand new 360. Shipping only costs like a dollar and unless you live in Utah (I think) you don't have to pay tax.

This is the deal I got. I paid less then 350 for a premium and it was sent to my house plus I had to pay zero Tax. Do you really think MS will drop the price 100 bucks ? No way, maybe 30, maybe even 50 but even then your not better off because you'll still have to pay tax.

Plus my Fatwallet cash back also scored me like 15 more bucks off my overstock purchase.

fuck yeah that was an awesome deal.

I can't believe people aren't taking advantage of the deal. I still see people on this very board talking about how they picked up a 360 at retail price!

Well, I just ran through eBay today. Won a 360 Premium with an extra wireless controller and a The Outfit faceplate (yeah, that's going in the closet) for $350 w/ S&H. Got a damn good deal there, I believe.

great deal. And if you want to get the extended warranty you can just call 18004myxbox, they only ask for your serial number.

PS3 > Wii > 360

As for a deal on the only next-gen available right now... If you can find them, buy ~20 copies of Driver: Parallel Lines (PS2/XBX) and Darkstalkers (PSP) from CC, using a 10% off coupon as well, and trade them to wherehouse.com/FYE (20 total games, not 20 of each). Of course you can't walk in with 20 copies of one game, they won't allow that, so go on multiple occasions. Naturally, this deal requires you have the stores locally and also that you can find the games to trade (there are others that fetch decent credit, these two are just the highest), so huge YMMV. If you get lucky though, here's the math:

CC games: 20*8.96 = $179.2*.9 = $161.28*1.075 = $173.38 (assuming a 7.5% sales tax)

wherehouse/FYE credit = 22.43*20 = $448.60 (22.43 is the average credit value of the two games)

Tons of legwork, and most don't have the resources....but it's nice to dream.

I checked on Overstock and the only deal I saw was 5% off every purchase and the fine print says not on video games.

It may be awhile before this happens but has anyone seen a used xbox 360 core or premium. I have seen all the accessories used.

You're kidding right? We don't need any of this garbage in a "help me find a deal on a 360" thread.
PS3 > Wii > 360
 Hey good luck finding a PS3 at lanuch, good luck paying $600, and good luck playing MGS4... oh wait no.. good luck playing... wait what IS coming out at launch? Oh, that's right! Nothing.

360>Wii>PS3.

1. Intelligent gamers don't care about launch, the systems will be crap at that time (i.e. the "phenomenal" 360). However if you can get one cheap or free at launch it's a great buy.
2. Only idiots pay $600, others find ways of getting it cheap.
3. The initial lineup matters not, since the system will suck then anyway. What you have to look to is the eventual lineup: MGS4, RE5, Resistance: FoM, Vision GT, DMC4, Killzone, MotorStorm, Heavy Rain, etc. Looks pretty tasty.
4. The current gen systems still have plenty to offer and look forward to. It won't be hard to wait on next gen.

1. The 360 had a pretty good launch. I love FPS's so it was good for me. Call of Duty 2, PD0, and Quake 4 were fun.
2. I doubt anyone is going to be paying less than $600 unless they reserved it, hmm maybe 6 months ago.
3. MGS4, DMC4, and Killzone might be good. Have you seen any gameplay footage of DMC or Killzone? NOPE! Also, RE5 is coming out for the 360, too.
4. The current gen Xbox is basically dead, the PS2 has FFXII, that's it, and the GC has Twilight Princess, and that's it, which comes out the same day as the Wii!

Pretty good launch or pretty good launch lineup? The launch sucked (i.e. shortage, bugs, mechanical issues), but I suppose if you're an FPS fan you enjoyed the lineup.

The current gens aren't dead unless you've played hundreds of games on them....there are tons of great games available for all three. And there are more to come....God of War II is the one I'm looking forward to the most.

Anyway, no need for a pissin contest. Everyone has their opinion. I just happen to think the PS3 has more promise and potential than the X360, and the Wii looks very interesting as well.
