Grammy nominated King Diamond screams "Metal Heads Unite!!"
You're an animator; surely you can learn to silkscreen on the cheap, right?
It's not hard for me to learn the 4 color-printing process. I thought about printing some shirts, coffee mugs, etc. if my cartoon takes off. That will be later though.....I'll cross that bridge when I get there..

Has anyone ever bought anything from Stonerrock.com/ All thats Heavy Store ?

How is the service? How is the shipping?

I heard the new Mastodon record- Badass!

I am also considering going to see Celtic Frost in San Francisco/Fillmore. Are there any Bay Area Head Bangers out there?!

DUDE!!! Get tix to see Celtic Frost! I need to get tickets to them in Norfolk at the NorVa. Its not often that such a sick group as them tour the States. Of course, I very seriously torn between seeing Soilwork headline the next nigfht at the NorVa or see Bruce Hornsby the same night. I've wanted to see Hornsby for many years, plus the fact that I'd get his 50 dollar box set for free if I went to see him, if the icing on the cake
Does anyone have the new Mastodon cd? Post your review, please. I've heard it isn't as good as their first one.
Well...that true. Its not as good as there other albums but I am not dissapointed at all. The biggest thing is that this is more of a Prog Metal album and I'm not really a fan of prog metal. All the Death metal powercords are not so evident in Blood Mountain like they were in the other record. Still, the musicianship is really excellent and there are alot of interesting timing changes.

So I recomend buying the record especially since its on sale this week at $9.99 at some stores (I think Circuit City or Best Buy- You will have to check the DVD/CD thread). Its worth at least that much.

i got it, and i fucking LOVE IT. I absolutely hated the living shit out of Leviathan, I honestly could not stand listening to a single song off that album, but Blood Mountain, holy shit I love it.

oh yeah, anybody see this:

eBay Banning Sale Of Black Metal Albums? - Sep. 14, 2006
Paula Hogan of MANIC Music & Distribution and Candlelight Records USA has contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET to report that "eBay is [allegedly] currently starting a ban on black/extreme metal. A few of our vendors who have sizeable eBay stores are now finding their items pulled down by eBay directly. The list we have compiled so far that have been pulled for sale via any eBay stores or auctions is noted below. I'm sure there are more."

Added Dan Ferguson of Indianapolis, IN's Abyss Records: "I had a number of items removed and account suspended by selling black metal. It seems a group of so-called Christians have been reporting black metal bands (even though eBay has black metal as a search genre) as all racist and hateful and discriminatory."

The items that were allegedly removed by eBay because they "violated the eBay Hateful or Discriminatory policy" are as follows:

BURZUM - Complete 6 LP SET
EMPEROR - IX Equilibrium ORIG. LP
WOTANORDEN - From The.. CD
BURZUM - s/t / Aske DOUBLE LP
1349 - Beyond The CD
DARKTHRONE - Panzerfaust CD
MAYHEM - Collection 4 LP SET
PANTHEON - Krihapentswor CD
DARKTHRONE - Total Death CD
BURZUM - Draugen CD DVD
BURZUM - Daudi Baldrs LP
BURZUM - Daudi Baldrs CD
ZYKLON B - Blood Must Be Shed CD
ARMAGGEDON - Imperium CD
EMPEROR - Demo LP
1349 - Hellfire DOUBLE LP
DARKTHRONE - Hate Them CD
BURZUM - Filosofem DOUBLE LP
BURZUM - Hlidskjalf LP
BURZUM - Det Som Engang Var DIGI CD
CAMULOS / AINSHVAL - Split CD
BURZUM - Hvis Lyset Tar Oss LP
BURZUM - Det Som Engang Var LP
NOKTURNAL MORTUM - Weltanschauung CD
SATYRICON - Now, Diabolical CD

In eBay's e-mail to Ferguson explaining their decision to remove his listing, they write, "eBay doesn't permit sellers to list items that promote or glorify hatred, violence, or racial intolerance. Items that promote organizations with such views are also prohibited.

"eBay will judiciously disallow listings or items that promote or glorify hatred, violence or racial intolerance, or items that promote organizations (such as Nazis, neo-Nazis and Aryan Nation) with such views. This policy also applies to listings that offer shipping to countries where certain items may be illegal."

I'll loved Leviathan and Remission. I also like the EP collection too.

I must say I really dig the artwork on the new Mastodon album. Its the same artist in the other albums too- I think his last name is Romano or something.
Those rotten religious fanatics!
I wouldn't be suprised if a lawsuit is in the works against ebay. I find that crap horrible and stupid. If they want to ban black metal, then I want all other Christian stuff removed too

They're a business. As long as they don't discriminate by race, sex, etc then can't they ban whatever they want? Just like, say, Circuit City doesn't sell porn?

You could technically say they're banning by religion, as they're banning all satanic work, and satanism is a real, recognized religion.

(chewing tobacco)....yup.

So, has anyone else heard I yet? It's the band formed by Abbath after Immortal went on hiatus for a while (they're back again though). It's actually some really good heavy metal. Nice chugging riffs, deeper vocals from Abbath, and still carries that whoe blackened air to it.

I noticed this thread is up to 267 posts. I think we should petition the Mods to allow this thread to go up to 666 posts before closing it.

The new forum software doesn't have the same problems the old one did so they don't have to close threads at 500 posts or whatever the limit used to be.
Well, seeing Celtic Frost and 1349 tomorrow night, should be awesome.
Celtic Frost will be playing here Nov 2nd...I'm so gonna be there

According to Cincinnati.com, former MORBID ANGEL/HATE ETERNAL bassist/vocalist Jared Anderson passed away on Saturday, October 14 at the age of 30. The cause of his death has not yet been released. Visitation will take place Thursday, October 19 at the E. C. Nurre Funeral Home, St. Rt. 125 Amelia, Ohio from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by Funeral Services Thursday, 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment Pierce Township Cemetery.

Jared Anderson was most recently working on a project which was known by its alias AS ONE... Jared described the band's musical direction on his MySpace page as "a revision of my INTERNECINE writings, or shall I say 'written in the vein of.' The INTERNECINE record itself was all 'old' material from the early to mid-'90s that I was given the offer to record, so obviously I opted to do so. Highly technical, obscure death metal was purely the intent of INTERNECINE. Although most of the material was written many years prior to recording it, there were a couple of songs that were more recent. The two songs were 'The Elder Gods' and 'The Calling Of The Hordes'. This is where AS ONE... comes in, kind of continuing where I left off so to speak, with a much more matured sound."

Back in February 2006, former MORBID ANGEL bassist/vocalist Steve Tucker confirmed to BLABBERMOUTH.NET that he was putting together a new project with Jared Anderson. "It is definitely death metal," Tucker said at the time. "It is very early on, but we are both extremely excited about it. No name yet, a few songs written, varying in tempo etc."

He lived in Covington? That shithole's about 1 mile west of me. I never knew that.

Shame about that, especially if he was going to work on another project soon.

Welcome back Morbid! I heard for the longest time Jared had a bad drug problem- so I'm guessing that's what may factor in his death.

Yeah, I have to agree. Lust Stained Dispair is a great album. Ville did a good job getting another band together after Sentenced.
So...what do you think is the best metal release of the year? Any thoughts?
There weren't really very many good albums this year, in my eyes. The only two I can think of are:

Poisonblack- Lust Stained Dispair
Cradle of Filth- Thornography

Anyone into Razor? Is a new album ever coming out? I've been hearing about it for ages.
So...what do you think is the best metal release of the year? Any thoughts?
I know about next year's
Moonsorrow's V: Havitetty

It's only 2 tracks (first song is 30 minutes long, second is 26), but ITS STILL FREAKIN AWESOME!!!
So...what do you think is the best metal release of the year? Any thoughts?
I know the year's over, but I'm voting anyway.

Mastodon - Blood Mountain

That's like the only new album in 2006 that I listen to.. besides Cannibal Corpse's Kill, but Blood Mountain still beats it.

I cant believe someone made a trhead with King Diamond in the title! I have loved King since the mid 80's (yes I'm that old) and to see him mentioned on CAG just made my day. I loved puppet master, and I can't wait for his new stuff.

What about Stench of Redemption, by Deicide? Or I's debut, Between Two Worlds? Or the Sunn O))) & Boris collaboration Altar? There were a ton of excellent releases this year.

Also, Municipal Waste > this thread.

I feel like listing more great albums of 06:

Summoning - Oathbound
Sahg - I
Terrorizer - Darker Days Ahead
Napalm Death - Smear Campaign
Genghis Tron - Dead Mountain Mouth
Frightmare - Bringing Back The Bloodshed

And that's just the metal. It was a good fucking year.

I'm not the biggest Deicide fan, to be honest, only a few songs I like total by them. Same goes for Napalm Death, although I was somewhat surprised by Smear Campaign. Totally forgot that album, thanks for reminding me.

Deicide fucking sucks, and usually are total shit, but Stench of Redemption is one of the best modern death metal releases I've heard in a long fucking while. It's definately worth checking out.

I will say, Homage For Satan is a killer ass song.

Blood Mountain is an excellent record but I prefer the older albums overall. I'm not 100% sure if I would make it my favorite of the year though. I'm still undecided.
