Grand Theft Auto IV - First Trailer 3/29/2007

A little over 48 hours left.. I really hope it can make Saint's Row its bitch.. I'd love to see everything in Saint's Row moved over to GTA4 and more junk added.

I think this grand theft auto should take place in the 70's. They had Liberty in 2000 something, Vice city in the 80's, and San Andreas in early 90's. Wheres the 70's?
 
I'm surprised to see so many people waiting for GTA4 on CAG. I can remember when posting about GTA got you flamed to hell on here.
 
I don't think I've ever anticipated a trailer for a game more than this one. Oddly enough this includes even MGS4, Halo 3, and FFXIII. I guess I'm curious as to how detailed the characters and cars will be, and how much random action will be going on in the city at any given moment.
 
Aw man, I just realized I'll be at a track meet at 6 so I'll have to wait until later that night. Hopefully the rush will have died down by then.

GTA 4 will be an exclusive for the Wii. It will feature Miis. It will be called GTA: Wiindy Ciity.
 
You guys are so oblivious. when they say that "things will be different", they mean that the main charactrer will be gay. Fastest selling game ever

Actually, it means that GTA is now a puzzle game based in feudal Europe, but I have to give you points for trying.
 
Maybe it'll be such a massive map that instead of just piloting a jetliner you'll be able to sit back and enjoy the ride while the real pilots fly...

Vice City and San Andreas were out of chronological order, so they didn't receive a sequel number.

Incorrect, the reason Vice City and San Andreas didn't receive sequel numbers is because all were a part of the GTA III series, even though they were seperate games.

All 3 of Liberty City, Vice City and San Andreas were in the first GTA.

Interesting fact: Carcer City was mentioned in GTA III, Carcer City is where Manhunt took place.

I thought it was local multiplayer. At least LCS was, because i played 3-4 player when my friends came over quite often. It was realy really fun but i dont think online was an option. Maybe with VCS there is though.

The official GTA IV site has no logos for any consoles listed and still shows to countdown to the trailer that’s coming tomorrow. Now normally this wouldn’t be any reason to panic but with the rumors of Microsoft buying Take Two an exclusive wouldn’t be too surprising."

Remember that quote from the MS guy about XBOX 360 being the system to have if you want to play Halo 3 and GTAIV? (this thread: http://cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=132238)

MGS4 heading to 360..... well then. It's time to think about some things.

I'd still get to play the games on 360, but I don't want PS3 to fail.

But seriously, don't get your hopes up on anything substantial. Probably some lame, hyperbole filled trailer. Although, the game IS set to come out in about 6 months.

They've never made trailers like that.
Always filled with lots of in-game action.

And they wouldn't make such a big to-do about a teaser.
 
I'm expecting Table Tennis detailed characters, Gran Turismo 4 detailed cars, and Gears of War detailed environments so my expectations are just a wee bit high. :D

Though even if they achieved half of that I'd still be impressed.

This thread was originally created on the X360 forums. I meant to keep it there so that we could have a discussion on the X360 version along with the exclusive content.
 
I have that same feeling of waking up on Christmas day to see all the presents under the tree. I'm a huge fan of GTA and commend them on creating one of the best genre's to date. Like others have stated I hope Rockstar can top their next gen competitors.
