7,000 for first bonus?  I smell Dollar Days... hmmm.  Guess I'll wait it out.

I figure once I pay the nefarious black market fee I'd pony up $2 for a Dollar Derp bundle.  At first I was worried the Nekro devs would cave since they ripped KS'ers off by now offering this for a mere $4 but as recent as two hours ago the dev posted on the Steam forum and basically said... oh well, sorry.

y u no beleev me

Them's the breaks for KS'ers. Outside of a slight moral obligation, there's really no reason for a KS dev not to bundle their game.

It's hilarious.  He likened it to buying a game on Steam then having it go on sale a couple months later.  Stuff like this is what stops me from backing any KS.

Well, technically, he's not wrong. KS is the equivalent of buying at msrp, and I don't see why people get pissy when the brand new thing they bought goes on sale months later. I mean, do they expect it to never go on sale?

Well... 'cuz it's not even released/finished technically.  I'm not really hung up on the morality of it.  Certainly doesn't bother me since I get a game I've been anticipating for $4 (along with other games) but it's funny to see these desperate devs pee in the cheerios for other devs who have yet to milk the KS cow.

Whatever, I've backed only one game, Armello, and I fully support the devs putting that baby on sale whenever the heck they want. I supported the game's development, and I'm getting a copy of the game in return. That's all KS is supposed to be, and bitchy little steam goers need to understand that. But to be fair, anyone who payed the full msrp for Interstellar Marines kinda deserves what they got.

Whatever helps you sleep at night.

I like that $1 tier, but I'm not sure about the $4 one. Other than KS controversy, I'm not sure what the big deal about Nekro's supposed to be; Miasmata looks boring; The Longest Journey is ancient; and Spate looks okay, but potentially annoyingly preachy. Guess I'll wait and see what the mystery game is before I make a decision.

Even then, I may have to wait and see for a Dollar Days before I can say yea or nay on the high tier.

I'll be surprised if they do dollar days again. Didn't that piss off a bunch of people the last couple times they tried?
Why the frig would it? I mean, the first couple of times, I can totally see, but if you aren't prepared for the possibility the third or fourth time they do it, that's your own damn fault.

Pretty much agree with everything you say here... You really need more of a reason to back a game other than wanting to play the game to be a kickstarter as it will always get cheaper. (Though the Interstellar Marines comment is a bit harsh but understandable.)

First, I don't think I would ever kickstart a FPS... A) Its a genre that's not lacking games and B) Its a genre that, believe it or not, is really easy to fuck up as its all about the gameplay... and there is a definitive line between good and proper and bad and broken. Not so much for the novice and/or small team.

Sending a message to AAA developers that Isometric RPGs and/or Space Combat games are not dead...? Worth it. (IMHO)

Well, with Gala, everyone knows it's coming, and you can make the choice of buying early and paying extra or waiting a couple weeks and paying less. When Groupees did it, it was out of the blue and in between bundles that didn't do it, so people understandably felt a bit peeved that it did happen when they thought they had no reason to fear. It's nice not having to worry about that nonsense, so yeah, I'd be surprised if Groupees screwed its early buyers again, and give people reason to potentially Gilby their future bundles.

Ffft, everyone loves a gilby. They're hapless and adorable. Like a puppy falling over.

I think this works 2 ways. Either they do a dollar days promo because the bundle is selling very poorly and they want an extra boost in sales.. OR the bundle sells extremely well.. meets their expectations so they do a dollar days near the end of the bundle duration when sales slow down.

As for WWSD, I have no idea. I'm really tempted to buy it now but the best course of action is to wait until near the end of the bundle for the possibility of dollar days. There's no real benefit to buying now, none of the cards have high value. If you have the patience, wait it out.

Guess I'll pick this up. Need to tighten my belt but Nekro looks like it could be cool and I'm interested in Miasmata. Two interesting games in a bundle is pretty good.

Some games I just want now and I pay full price for (Civilization), I actually play those games and the hours I put into it are worth way more than the 40$ +

I know it's going to be $5 a year from now. Some people need to learn to get over it.

Re: Nekro's inclusion.

Yeah, it's bullshit it's included because the game's not even fully released yet and only been in EA a month. On top of this, the game's Kickstarter was funded over 2 years ago, it cost $15+ for a copy per backer at the time of the Kickstarter, and backers just got the game a month ago. I'd be fucking pissed too after paying that much money and having to wait so long before everyone else got the game ridiculously cheaper a month later.

It's one thing for the game to see a 33% - 50% off sale on Steam (surprised there wasn't a release discount), but to be in a $4 bundle with a bunch of other games so damn soon is definitely a slap in the face.

KS games are far from immune to sales and bundles, but this is the worst way to go about it. Can definitely understand the rage people are feeling.

Yeah, but your analogy is wrong because:

A) It's way less than $5 if you divvy up the bundle cost to each game

B) It's only been out a month, and in EA no less. (Getting the game in EA was originally only for the $25+ tier)

C) These people paid in advance and had to wait 2 years for their product (the estimated delivery date was off by a year).

fuq, completely forgot about dollar days...oh well. believe it or not, the longest journey was the major draw for me in this bundle. legend of dungeon i already own, but for those that don't have it, it's worth the dollar tier on its own. i have miasmata from gog, but it'll be nice to get a steam key.

really good bundle.

I don't think people understand what kickstarter is, which is say it's not a pre-order system. Why is this so complicated to grasp?

Oh, was that question sarcastic?
You know how I roll. Also, since Mooby annoyed me with his idiotic comments about KS, I will be giving away his pre-begged scraps.

Excuse me for joining so late the thread, but I'm tempting to get the bundle only for Nekro. Since is on Early Access, I need some suggestions.

Since the game has been in early access for a month, is it worth to get it right now? Or would you say to wait for more content... I'm not a fan or early access games so I don't know very much about the state of games at this point.

Also, does it feels like Overlord the gameplaying?

Thanks.

Edit. Also... I will still wait to see how the bundle goes, bonuses and if it happens to be a dollar day.

Thanks, I just took the first, thinking it would be already claimed. The second, it was already taken and third no idea.

It's $4 for like half a dozen games. I doubt Necro is ever going to be cheaper on its own. Of course, they might run the Dollar Days promotion so might as well wait it out.

Did anyone else get the KISS My Bundles and not have SKH in their profile page? I sent Poopees a support message already to no avail and I refuse to use their "chat" system.
