Does anyone here know if they take Xbox 360 Data transfer cables and Turtle Beach Wireless Headset X31? I have no use for either.
PM sent. But yeah don't waste your time selling any accessory outside of a standard controller, memory unit, etc. to Gamestop. Like IATCG said, they're going to treat it the same as the standard 360 headsets.
It sucks that even with 30% trade in bonus AND 10% Edge, a lot of the trade ins don't compete with Amazons base trade in prices.
It depends on what you're trading in. I just got $4.90 on Kingdom Hearts and I don't have to deal with the chance of the item getting refused / stolen due to questionable disc condition.
A bit late... but I did take it apart and clean everything out. Didn't do anything, thing still overheats if I don't blow a fan at it. I'm guessing the fan is dead, or the thermal paste for the heatsink needs to be reapplied. Either way, I'm kinda screwed :/

It might just be the fan though, the system doesn't actually run that loud anymore.
Hmm, well you should hear the fan running, and if your thermal paste is gone, you'd probably have the YLOD already. When you cleaned it , did you actually take the fan out and vacuum the dust from the cooling fins where the fan sits? It looks like the fins on a car radiator, thats important! If you did all that and your fan runs, then im not sure what the deal is.
The reason i cleaned mine was because my fans would run at high speed constantly, after cleaning, it was quiet. So are you saying the system overheats as in it shuts down? If you cant hear your fan running, thats your problem.

Hey guys do console trade-ins stack with Edge?

Just kidding just kidding xD

But I do have a question here. Do you guys personally think that the Edge trade-in boost justifies purchasing it if I trade in games like once a month or so??

Depends upon the number of games you trade in once a month. If you trade in at least $150 of items in a 12 month range it is worth it. That doesn't even include the 10% off on used purchase as well.

Updated lists and database.

To go on what JP said, $150 a year in the realm of video gaming is almost nothing. It'll pay for itself in no time and if you shop at Gamestop with any kind of frequency, I think it's silly not to have. Don't forget it's 10% off purchases, in addition to +10% trade-in and Powerup points, it all adds up in a pretty decent way.

I can't really hear anything when it's running, and it heats up extremely quick as soon as I turn it on. I didn't remove the heatsink or reapply thermal paste as I don't have any on hand, but I did clean everything out w/ pressurized air, fan fins included. It's correctly plugged in too.

Well, using pressurized air probably wasn't the best idea. Either way, it sounds like your fan is dead possibly. You obviously should hear it...
the PS3 trade in ended on the 8th. That was its scheduled end date.
Aw, crap, I was thinking September... never got my YLOD to work.
are PS2 games eligible for the tiered trade in or is it just 360/PS3/Wii?
Yes,
iconps2_r2.gif
,
iconxbox360.gif
,
iconps3.gif
,
iconwii.gif
,
icongamecube.gif
,
iconds.gif
,
iconpsp_r2.gif
are eligible...
iconxbox_r2.gif
and PC are not. I didn't check on
icongbasp_r1.gif
so I don't know.

Also there is no min limit....so as long as there is a value, the promo works. Meaning I trade a $.50
iconps2_r2.gif
game and it counted.
Want to share my madden experience...

Used the $40 dollar promo on games that would only net me about $18 if i traded them in. Then traded in another the day of release for an extra 25 percent and got madden. Played the game for about 6 hours at a friends place and realized that this game was just a prettier version of madden 10. Def not worth 60, so i go back to return the game.

The store is packed and the manager is puzzled that i would want to return the game. I tell him the reason, and he checks the game out and he wrongly assumes i tested it out on my copy. Tells me I cant return opened merchandise. I tell him I did not open it and he says that the packing is usually tighter when they receive it. I proceed to tell him that Gamestop guts copies of new games and that he should know that since he's manager. At this point, the whole store is staring at him and he refunds me everything but still adament that i opened the game. Idiot actually ripped open the packaging to check disc condition which further proved my point.
Wow so you were being a douche and you lied about the whole thing. The fine print on the back of the receipt clearly says you cannot return opened merchandise, only used since it's already open. And I don't think those copies of Madden were gutted as brand new games like that with high distros are hardly gutted in the first place. They are sealed 99% of the time, especially with a high demand game such as Madden. So you being a total dick got you what you wanted and you made the guy who worked there look bad because he was following store policy. If you knew you wouldn't like the game, why did you buy it in the first place? People like you are scum.

I think you misunderstood that entire story. He bought a copy and played a copy at his friends house. His copy was still sealed. The GameStop employee was implying that he had opened then resealed the game. The employee THEN proceeded to open the game to make sure he hadn't resealed it with a crap game.

When you return a sealed game at my local Gamestop they open up the game every time.

well it really wont matter if they opened it, 'cause now they can actually sell it as the gutted copy you were talking about. so it doesnt really make a difference. The manager was just trying to open it and maybe catch the customer returning it doing something wrong (switching out the game or something).

Oh I apologize, my mistake. I used to work for G$(as SGA) and I had people that would do that before and get away with it. I know about the gutted procedure but most new games(from my experience) were always sealed, unless it was a low profile title like Sin & Punishment that didn't get a big distro.
