I think all you did was die in the first level using whatever dragon they gave you (I want to say blue) and that would trigger some sort of cutscene, and then ultimately give you the golden dragon.

It definitely looks like a survival horror game but I just can't think of any more. I know it isn't Countdown Vampires or Overblood. I don't think it is Dino Crisis either.

yep, its PS1. That is actually a boss in the game. If i showed the main character you would automatically know what game it was.
