Guess the Game from the Screenshot

Here's an obscure one for adventure game enthusiasts:
That's the one! I think I'm going to call it quits on the C-64 one. It was Deceptor by Advantage Software. Not a bad little game, but it did get frustrating. Anyway, here's a new one to start the day with.

Silkworm by Tecmo.

Journey Escape!

Okay, here's one I've been meaning to post (thanks to the text adventure shot posters for inspiration):
a.jpg

A couple of hints:

1) This game was released for the Sega Saturn, in Japan only; it was later ported to the Dreamcast.

2) This is actual gameplay footage, not something cheesy like "Seconds 6-7 of the load screen of King of Fighters 95".

Someone will know this. :)

I want to say enemy zero, since a lot of it had to do with sound with relying on sound. I can't remember much about it (I played it somewhat) so I don't know if you couldn't see anything for periods, or just couldn't see the enemies. But, the game was only on saturn and had a u.s. release.

You're very close.
...D2? :( I'm trying to think of titles possibly ported to the DC...
Again, very close. D2 was DC-only though.

Blue Stinger?
Carrier?

..dammit, what is the name of the Saturn RE clone where you are on a boat underwater....Deep Fear (finally found it)

Hint #3: It's not a RE clone.

Hint #4: It came with packets of seeds (yeah, like that helps!).

BTW, forget I mentioned that it was ported to the DC. It's normally thought of as a Saturn game (kind of like MvC2 will always be a DC game to me, not a PS2/Xbox game).

House of the Dead???

LOL! I shudder to think what seeds packaged with that game would grow.......

Hint #6: Both D2 and Enemy Zero have been mentioned. What do these games have in common?

Real Sound: Kaze no Regret

http://www2.hku.nl/~audiogam/ag/rev_kazenoregret.php

That has to be it.

From the page:
The game originally didn't feature ANY graphics on the Sega Saturn. When it was released on the Dreamcast it featured two play modes, visual and classic.

...

The game is quite attractive for collectors due to its extreme curiosity and the fact that it includes some very stranges attributes like braille-cards, a bag with seeds (to plant!) and an extra transparant box with cloud motive. You might be able to still buy copies on online auction websites like eBay.
Nope. Keep digging.

(BTW, that IGN page only appears to list domestic releases, so it won't help)

----DM
They're all Kenji Eno titles, and that screen's from Real Sound.

Pretty sure that's Clash and Demonhead.
Microsurgeon! I used to love playing this on my TI99/4A.

Correct! I was going to use Parsec, but thought that'd be to easy.

Here's a grossly under-appreciated game:

Bingo! I hated that game so much... I was addicted to it, but I also sucked at it. So damn hard. Well, I guess It's time I posted another. And the clock starts......NOW!

That was such a cool game, very unique. But damn it was hard. The Wormfinder! Arrggg. Did anyone ever beat it without a strat guide?
Edit: Enjoying this thread. Never realized how many games I missed growing up.
And I never realized how little I know about older games!

The Immortal, or something like that?

Edit: I recognize the game and remember renting it for the NES... damn it was fucking hard.

Dammit, I know Dogpatch's game. You used the keyboard to control the sword, and I remember thinking it was horribly awkward. And you could chop off limbs. "Bloody hell!"

Edit: Die by the Sword!

The pic you're talking about looks a lot like 7th Saga (SNES).

Edit: But it's not. Looks more like Phantasy Star... 3 maybe?
