Guess the Game from the Screenshot
5 Looks like Hard Drivin'
Nah, it's Stunts. My friends and I wasted so many hours making the most challenging tracks for each other when we were younger.
Numero uno looks kinda like Metal Rage: Defender of the Earth.
Correct!

Yes sir! same here!

damn I killed this thread...
To be fair you have to be over 30 to have played those

2. Take Down
3. Night Hunter
4. Alternate Reality: The City

Obscure Space / Planet SS edition, most of these are fairly common games and shouldn't be too difficult.

Well, gonna take the easiest of the bunch: F is Metroid Prime and I is Yoshi's Island. Could totally go for some less tiny pictures in the future, guys.

EDIT: You know, like, half these things could be Metroid pictures. Are these all Metroid pictures?

Both are correct, and I could post the larger versions I hosted, but I don't like taking up too much space. Inbox suggestion noted though.

Now what kind of a Playstation fan would I be if I didn't know the answer to B?

B is from Ratchet and Clank; when you arrived to a planet/world. :)

Which one though? You narrowed it down close enough either way.

H is Starfox 64, and I decided to not be lazy / appease The Crotch and make the pics bigger.
C is ToeJam & Earl in Panic on Funkotron, a great disappointment of a game.
You take that back, you son of a bitch.

I didn't say it was bad, but the first was amazingly fun. They completely changed the gameplay to something far more ordinary — with, admittedly, 20% more jammin'. So... :nottalking:

At least they waited until the third one to completely ruin the series.

I owned and loved the first two on the Genny, though admittedly the first one was superior (and my favorite game of the platform). Better co-op and overall gameplay mechanics, plus the randomly generated levels made for an excellent replay factor.

The second one had its moments, especially finding out the secret areas and items for the Funkopotamus, and still decent co-op. I never bothered with the third one, though I think they need to seriously consider a reboot of the first one at some point.

Looks like Ratchet 1.

I might be speaking blasphemy but IMO the first one didn't age well. I fired it up a couple weeks ago with a friend and we were bored within minutes. The games only redeeming factor is that it had unrestricted co-op. When you think about it the core gameplay is just walking around (slowly) looking for stuff. This is one of those games that are best left for nostalgia.

Actually its UYA, which is my favorite R&C game. Sadly I have yet to play the PS3 versions, but I'm sure that will still ring true.

Here are the ones that are left. I'll post their systems as a hint later on.
A. feels like a Lucas Arts game to me, am I on the right track? Day of the Tentacle maybe?
Nope, no relation to LucasArts on that one.
I finally remember where I saw D — Ristar.
Correct, that just leaves four more, which I'll give the system hints:
A was on Gamecube, E is Wii (not really retro per se), G and J are both PSone, though J was multiplatform.
Hm. Is A Thousand Year Door? And E... could be No More Heroes? I guess?
A is correct, E is not. I have a feeling G and J are in need of a spoil here soon, I guess they may be too niche.
J is probably Discworld, considering it looks like a giant tortoise flying through space.
Yup, I figured the giant flying space turtle would tip it off for someone. Discworld is a good mash up of classic adventure games and Monty Python humor for those that don't know about it.

I'll give more hints on the remaining two:
E is a WiiWare game, and G is a Squaresoft developed title.
Shit... Einhander?

EDIT: And one of the Bit.Trip games?
Yes on Einhander, I picked an obscure shot from the ending cutscene.

And yes on Bit.Trip, more specifically Void.

Alright, clear for the weekend, I'll post some more next week.

A: Afterlife
G: Ultima Underworld

I knew what E was, basically, but didn't know what it was called until I searched around for a minute, so I'm not gonna take that one and I swear I should know B, but can't put my finger on it right now.

So far, so good.

Incidentally, I haven't played Ultima Underworld since I was, like, 14, and I still remember the password to the dwarves' treasure room.

Deco Morono

E is King Arthur's World.

Edit: Was Afterlife any good? I actually owned it a long time ago but never played it. That screenshot looks really confusing.

Harry and ID are correct. As for Afterlife... I couldn't tell you. It's been over a decade since I last played it. The only thing I really remember about it is that the currency was in pennies and if you cheated too much money into your game the Death Star would show up and start blowing up your shit.

Correct. Specifically, it's the Genesis version, which I really liked as a kid. I learned some time later that the SNES version played a fair bit differently.

Also, "looking familiar" is kinda what F is known for...

Seven of the eight pictures I posted went down pretty quick, but one infamous game remains.

To help the process along, I'll give you guys a few extra pictures that might seem a little... familiar.
Limbo of the Lost?
I knew it looked familiar, and by familiar, I mean kinda it looked like Elder Scrolls Oblivion. :whistle2:#
Woah, just looked at some review scores. Ouch.

What makes this so infamous, anyway?
It ripped off some major IPs (such as Oblivion, Thief, WoW), locations, textures, etc. Lots of plagiarism happening there.
