Guitar Hero II - General Disscusion - Indie Pack #2 - 3 Songs Up Now
Play X-Stream on Expert to get the 1000 Note Streak and 500,000 point achievements.
God i hate that song with a passion.
I think I will grab these...just don't kill me people.
Don't worry friend, I got them too. We will accept you here.

Finally got the 500k achievement the other day with X-Stream on Expert after taking a break from trying to get it for two months! I finished with 498k which was the closest I had gotten and got to 504k with FC a few more tries later. That was a great relief, glad I don't have to play that song perfectly again. Only single player achievements left are the Five Star Expert Tour and Jordan Expert, which are probably going to take me awhile to get.
^ don't know what difficulty you're on, but I only recently (barely) beat woman on hard.
hard mode

looks like i'm gonna have to practice the solo.

I bought the MCR songs too. I'm not a huge fan, but I like 'em well enough and I wanna support putting out new content for DLC rather than GH1 stuff.

I actually think these MCR songs are pretty fun to play, so I'm glad I went ahead and purchased. Like someone else said, I would have definitely sawpped out Famous Last Words for Mama or Black Parade, but oh well.

I get that some of you think that buying these will only encourage further pricing at this level, but come on, the pricing structure has been in place for multiple packs now, a few purchases or boycotts one way or the other isn't going to make a difference. If, in masse, people didn't want to pay 500 points, they wouldn't have come out with further packs at that level.

For me, I like MCR, I like new master tracks and I like the Circuit City deal that has kept me flush with points for the forseeable future. All that = buy.
Off topic: I saw MCR live a couple days ago and they sucked up until the last two songs of their performance. So they're kinda crappy live.

 Just another hater with a shitty opinion. I'm seeing them live again tomorrow in VA, it's gonna kick ass. I just found out about this new DLC when I was listening to a podcast yesterday. I had to rewind the podcast to make sure I wasn't hearing things. I'm a little bit obsessed with MCR and couldn't ask for a better band to have in the new DLC. I'm pretty sure others agree with me or else MCR wouldn't have been picked for this pack.

So, if someone has an opinion different than yours, it's shitty? Great logic.

A band can be great in-studio, and really suck live. I've seen a few of those.

But you couldn't pay me to listen to MCR.

I'm sorry, but I wish they would have picked someone other than MCR. Heck... I would have love to do something of Thursday's catalog even if it only meant one song.

Good to know. Of course, that poster couldn't have caught the band at a live performance on an "off" night, could they have? Nah.

Well, if it wasn't for his propensity to tell people to fuck off everytime his feelings get hurt, speedy would have never started to give us the ads instead. I guess we can thank TSD for having a sandy vagina.

I really, really like the MCR pack. Especially "Famous Last Words". The guitar part at 34 seconds in is awesome.

I wish more songs had guitar power solos. Like stuff from the first game.
Miserlou doesn't even sound right. That's the worst cover of any in this franchise.
I'd go with the Rage Against The Machine cover band for the worst. They butchered their song.

The vocals: absolutely. I used play that song on a real guitar all the time back when I was in high school (it's quite easy except for the effects-laden parts...which is typical of trying to play half the RaTM song library). The GH guitarwork is pretty accurate, mainly because heavier songs in dropped D "feel" right on the GH guitar because you're hitting the frets the same way you would hit barred dropped D power chords on a real neck.

My problem with Miserlou is it sounds nothing like the original. It shocked me how excited I was to first load up the song versus how disappointed I was a quarter of the way into it. The picking speed and song structure is completly wrong. Whereas you've got songs like Free Bird that have damn near every note, except a few embelishments and extra notes that shouldn't be there.

Sooo, since I play guitar hero so much, it's really made me interested in playing a real guitar.

Although I'm already 20, and have never touched an instrument in my life...I wonder if it would be completely pointless.

If you're really serious about picking up guitar, now would be the time to do it. Ya ain't gettin' any younger. :D

Way to sound like a douche.

True true...I just don't want to waste money only to find out I suck at it.

I'm going to imagine reading music is nothing at all like playing guitar hero.

No, it's nothing like GH. But it's about 50 million times more satisfying.

not really, nope.

Actually, the problem with Misrlou is thst it IS the original version that was first recorded back in 1963, and not the "Pulp Fiction version." Dale recorded quite a few of his songs multiple times. I'm not sure when he did the version that most people know thanks to Tarrantino (i.e the cool version.) I was really disappointed too, because I love that song. I'd love to see a GH Encore: Surf Rock game. So many great bands that could be on there. Estrume'n'tal FTW.

On a sort of related note: Why doesn't Activision release GH: Classic for XBOX360? Put GHI and 80's in a dual pack for $60 after GHIII comes out. License to print money. Throw in Dokken "Mr. Scary" for good measure. That song would be a blast to play through.

Damn, this game is really fun. I was at a friends house tonight and there were a bunch of people playing this. It was only my 3rd time or so with the game because I've been avoiding it so I wouldn't be tempted to pay a ridiculous amount of money for it. I'm tempted now.

my brother-in-law and I are trying to get some easy co-op achievments. What are the easiest songs to do to get the 1000 streak in co-op and the 1 million song in co-op?
Nicely done. I just need to five star Misirlou and Psychobilly Freakout to get it.
Dude, I've had the game since it came out on the PS2, and I haven't even 5-starred all the songs on hard!

This is Nothing like a real guitar. Ive played Guitar for 2Yrs now And i can play real songs easier than I can Play Guitar Hero. Guitar hero is a party game. Thats the only time I use it or if friends are over. By your self its just damn stressful and mediums a bitch!

The thing about actual guitar is that an easy song is easy no matter what. It's just like, what if there was smells like teen spirit on guitar hero? How exactly could they make that " expert"? They should have a difficulty for " regular song " or something.

I got the note streak with a friend on Nirvana's heart shaped box. Haven't managed a million yet.

wtf? I've played guitar for 6 years and Expert is the ONLY mode I find to be fun.

Your finger independence and dexterity must be horrible, too many power chords eh?
