For an extra 10$ you can get the 'elite' bundles which includes the above items as well as:

Guitar Hero T-Shirt
Guitar Faceplate

I pre-ordered Guitar Hero 2 for the 360 from them, and even though the free shipping is ground, they shipped it early so it arrived on the street date.

Hope this helps someone, the freebies are pretty decent.

**I did a search for this on deals forum and couldn't find it posted, if it has please lock this post.

(LinkinPrime Edit: Added direct links to all versions)

Maybe the free shipping doesn't apply to pre-orders?

Either way, it didn't apply for me, no matter what I put in my cart to make it over $99.99...

Looks like they added a code for free shipping on the items that are labeled free shipping, coupon code freeground. Doesn't stack with the 10% vgmusic code though, so probably better off using the 10% OFF code I'd think.

Haven't really done any research on this one, but between the 360 and the PS3 version anyone know if one will have an advantage over the other? Very interested in picking this game up but I'm not sure which version I would pick up.
Here's something I'm sure has already been answered. Can you download GH1 on the 360? I have GH 1 and 2 on PS2 and would like to sell them to get everything on the 360. Good or bad move?

Also, wasn't there some info on the GH guitars working on Rock Band?
As of now, you cannot download all of GH1's tracks on the 360. DLC has been real shitty for GH2 with it being slow and overpriced. You'll probably use most of the money you'd have made trading in your PS2 GH's to buy all the songs again on the 360.

Does anyone know if this new guitar will have a strap peg on the back of the body (like on the Xplorer?). Reason I ask is because I'm a lefty and it's a total pain in the ass playing with the strap peg on the wrong side like that.

Yes, it has been mentioned in previews and in the manual (found on FCC testing website) that there will be a peg on the back of the neck for lefties:

In for one...love the free swag for just under the price I would pay B&M store!
This package seems just as good if not better than the BIOSHOCK LE.
Nice job Red Octane...guess they have to step up there game with Rock Band in the fold.

Thanks for that pic but it still doesn't explain if there will be an extra strap peg for lefties on the Les Paul style guitars. It obviously shows one on the Stratocaster but I was wondering if it'd be one on the back, behind the base of the neck (like the Xplorer's).

You'd think that they'd include one since 10% of the population are lefties but since I haven't seen any other pics or info on it, I had to ask.

I got the PS3 elite bundle, put in the code and it was showing free shipping until after I'd put my info in. Then it said "oh, flat rate, 4.99" so I said fudge that noise and went back and got the value battery charger, since apparently the PS3 one runs on batteries. Came out to about the same, but instead I got a charger with it and some extra batteries. Total was 109.78, not bad if you ask me.

Wonder what there might be for Rock Band...

EDIT: Does anyone know whether RedOctane will send the pre-orders before the street date so they get to us around the same day? If not I may have to rent the PS2 version in the intervening time.

I got my GH 2 preorder the day after street date. Not too shabby. I'll be preordering the Elite bundle fo' sho.

There will be. I posted it a few posts back in case you missed it.

You know, I'm tempted to order the Extreme bundle for the carying case alone. I could care less about the t-shirt, it won't fit. And they will sell faceplates if I want one later.

lets see I preordered the 360 bundle and it was 109.99 then put in the code for 10% off which was 11$ no tax still free shipping Grand total 98.99 Priceless Just wanted to say thanks op for the10% off. Awsome Deal

I want the most expensive 360 bundle, but I just can't seem to get 10% and free shipping to work. I don't really want the t-shrit, but I wouldn't mind the face-plate.

Thanks coldlight for posting the deal and pookymeister for the 10% off.

This will be my first GH and I bought the Wii Extreme Bundle. Total came up to $92.66. CA tax FTL.

You'll want to get the 360 version, because if you like it, you can then go pick up a disc-only GH2 and use the same guitar. Also, as mentioned before, the game has some fun achievements.
Anyone know if the guitars will take 360 rechargable batteries?

I'm torn between this, and Rock Band.
If you're torn, I'd say go for Rock Band, simply because you can later go and buy drums and have a whole new game.

In for the 360 extreme bundle. It's too bad the free shipping didn't stack with the 10%, but it is still a better option than anything else right now. That guitar bag is something I've wanted for a while now

It's like we're twins. I ordered the same Wii bundle, and suffered the "CA tax penalty," but it's worth it for the bag in my case.

My card was charged when it clearly stats in the confirmation email from red octane that your card will only be charged when they ship your item out. Anybody else??

Charged or authorized?

Actually the elite bundle w/ free shipping and the 10% off ends up being $98.99 which is $1 less than what you would pay for that, plus more stuff.

As long as both discounts stack for the elite version, there's really no reason to buy the extreme bundle if the 10% coupon doesn't work for it.
Why would you get this? Rock Band controllers are backwards compatitble...
GH guitars are compatible with RB, but it's still undetermined if it'll work the other way around as well.
Why would you get this?
My thinking is this, one guitar will be bass, one will be guitar, then the drums, and the mic, there's the whole thing for Rock Band. Party time! Excellent!
GH guitars are compatible with RB, but it's still undetermined if it'll work the other way around as well.
How is that possible when RB controllers have more buttons than GH controllers?

Okay, so the vgmusic 10% off is a better deal than the free shipping, but they still have free shipping for orders over $100. If you add something to bump your order over that amount, you still get free shipping. Also, you get 10% off of whatever you add to the order as well.

Here's my solution, I snagged the 360 Extreme Bundle and a pack of rechargable AAA's would have preferred some more AA's, but they don't seem to carry them? Winds up costing me $6 for the pack of batteries, way better deal than you can find at the store.

Anyway, if you don't already have one the 15 minute recharger is pretty sweet. Good time to pick it up because you basically get $5 "off" by adding it, since it drops shipping to free, and then the 10% off on top of that.
does anyone know if the Wii version will have online play? if not, then i have to buy it for the ps2.
IGN's Wii podcast yesterday indicated that online will consist of multiplayer but no DLC. Not definitive on either point, but it's pretty much all there is to go on, other than the Wi-Fi logo on the box.
Says they take AA batteries..I was hoping to put in a 360 battery pack :(
Well the 360 controllers use AA's as well right...I'm just hoping with MS lending their wireless technology, that they made sure that they told them to make sure that the battery pack fits into the guitar...after all that means more accessory sales for MS.
