[quote name='mikwiz']It is a very simple model that exists in this country of supply and demand -- there are no favors. It's only business. Every small business to large corporation has costs and responsibilities that they must adhere to. We all risk our own capitol for the hope that we can better our lives in many ways and then contribute back to our communities.
How ridiculous of you to ask for our costs. Do you want businesses to ask for your tax returns before they allow you to purchase their items? Do you now want to be the person in charge of who sells what to whom? You like that control over others who you feel are disadvantaged, but then behind their backs you horde your own appetites that you wouldn't want them to find about.
I noticed you totally avoided my question to you about what gives you the right to say how much any other seller here on CAG or anywhere else can make as a profit. Your reply was "Nope", and then tried changing the subject to favors . . . huh? Do we all have to pass your self-imposed profit-to-loss statement test? How absurd, and your mild-mannered sarcasm screams of hypocrisy at some level in your own life.
We are an online internet business with an excellent reputation and our website through Amazon is listed here on CAG. You can do some due diligence yourself, if you so choose, and investigate further.
I can see you are also a seller here on CAG which makes me wonder why you would challenge a new seller here as you did. Is it because you are trying to retain your own niche here on CAG? Be careful, you may be going down the road of capitalism and not be aware you are doing so.
Oh, and save the pro-tips: this is a forum on Cheap Ass Gamers whose members -- not all, but probably like yourself -- at times engage in shall we say less-than kind commentary against other members. It's kind of like survival of the fittest, Big Dogs on Campus, or nerds Second Life. I am sure you and most other members can handle being challenged -- not insulted -- after first complaining about other sellers profit margins and appropriation decisions.

Dafuq...?
Seriously though, let me address your post in numbered segments for fear I'll get lost.
1. Never said you shouldn't do business or that business (or capitalism) was wrong. Just said you shouldn't make it sound like you're doing a favor for people. That's not business, it's a favor. Just come out and say, "Hey, I want a premium for this, as it's limited in quantity." Nothing wrong with that.
2. Well, first, let me say that it is not really ridiculous to ask for costs, especially if you told me I should factor them into my thoughts of how you were making profit. Those calculations wouldn't make sense, now would they? Next, your example of businesses asking for my tax info is kind of well, ... dumb. You, as a business, are the one who needs to respect the requests of the customers. I can think of no business that has gone anywhere who felt they were the ones who had the right to ask questions. Third, I have no idea where this "control" theme came from, as it was a simple question that could be answered or not. Oh, and I really have no idea what you were saying towards the end there...
3. Um, you didn't ask what gave me the right, you asked if I was the one who determined it. I said "Nope." Seems like a satisfactory answer to me. That thing about favors? Well, you should probably read more carefully, as I was talking about how you were making it sound like a favor, rather than the business you are trying to be. I was saying that you should charge that amount if you were trying to help out CAGs, not that you have to, or that that was a fair amount for anyone. And the sarcasm? Just simply sarcasm. It really doesn't say anything about anything, except that I'm a sarcastic guy. Have no idea where the hypocrisy stuff came from.
4. The part about doing my own due diligence? Doesn't sound like something a good seller would tell someone... Why would you not want to tell about your business? I do sell stuff here. And I do make profit, but I don't sit there and act like I'm doing the people who buy my stuff a favor. If I want to make profit, I let them know. Wasn't challenging you, just wanted to give you some advice and know about your "business". My own "niche"? Really doesn't make sense...
5. Well, I was simply trying to tell you that if you are looking to be seen as a "good seller" with a reputable "business", you probably shouldn't act like an asshole to potential customers, or anyone, as it will put others off. Don't call yourself something you're not. Oh, and it's not really like either of your two examples. Yeah, I'm a dick to people, but I've never gone around saying I am a good seller who's better than third-party rapists and am trying to run a good business. And, once again, wasn't complaining. All I was saying. I thought you were trying to go in a different direction which is why I said what I did, but clearly I was initially wrong. You're a hoarding re-seller. Got it. Act like it, or don't be one.
Well, looks like that's it. But before I finish, I felt like saying that you have some really poor grammar in there and should perhaps look at having an "employee" in your "business" edit your stuff before posting.
