Half.com Instant Sale (Trade In Program)

Im through with this Half program. Took them forever to do my tradein and rejected half of them, even though almost all were new and sealed. Eager to see if the slasher got ahold of one...

I guess I should have figured, an ebay company is going to screw up and you have 0 hope of going through their CS.

I know that feel. All my sealed games got rejected.

As I said before, it's likely due to the company being half owned by the same prick that runs NorScam for the Amazon program. It seems like some of the reasons behind the rejections are the same as the NorAm bs I got told a couple times.

At least a quick chat with Amazons' CS resolved those issues. But thus far we've only seen that people were getting their issues 'escalated' by Half, which to me means they're gonna sit on it for a while and hope you forget about trying to get paid for stuff you sent in and just take whatever slashed/scratched/broken pos items they ship you back.

I have a friend who had his mint ps3 game get downgraded to acceptable with a description that indicates it was mutilated by the inspector. He e-mailed CS and got the same stock "escalated" letter that others are reporting. It seems like it can be a crap shoot for some people.

Before sending mine in I read here about people having games damaged, so I recorded the packaging process. I made a video recording the condition of each item I sent, me sealing the packages and dropping them in the mailbox. If anything of mine is rejected and sent back damaged, I'll have some kind of evidence to support any claim I have. Hopefully it'll be effective if there's an issue. I actually do that with all of my selling, just to cover myself in case I sell to someone who wants to try and scam me.

That right there to me would be complete and utter bullshit. If your dumbass employee took a box cutter to my package and destroyed the game or it's case, it's not MY damn fault. In those cases, the company should immediately pay out whatever credit or cash(Paypal) they were supposed to at at least the Very Good level to compensate.

But at least the idiots there are varying things a lil bit as opposed to the NorAm doofs, who I swear used to curbstomp the games if they dropped to the floor. A few friends received back games marked 'damaged' with a footprint on the cases. Not to mention the morons put the damaged sticker on the read side of the fuckin' discs.

Yeah. Ebay and their likes screwed me over so many times. Not surprised that people are having similar experiences with Half.

Made sure to put pieces of cardboard on the top and bottom of my games. The person inspecting my games would have needed a chainsaw to damage any of them hahaha. Got paid for both Raymans and Michael Phelp games this past weekend. $78 dollars for two games is a great deal.

i did R3, Madden 12 (PS3), Hulk Hogan's Main Event, and 2x LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 (Wii) on about July 25th and just gots my payouts on 'em all.
Did you guys get emails saying you were credited through your PayPal?
Yea, but usually you will get the actual payment hours before getting notified.

Thanks. I guess I just have to be more patient, even though this is day 4 of possible 5 business days. Oh well.
Just a heads up, Michael Phelps Push The Limit will be on sale at Best Buy for $9.99 and they are offering $48.45 for it via PayPal.
Good catch. Limit of 2 per system, right?

That is a crazy amount. Lots of stores show unavailable and unable to ship to store..hopefully, that changes once the sale "officially" starts. Medieval Moves and Black Eyed Peas get around $15 as well.

Amazon has it for $14.99 currently for those that want to make sure they don't miss this flip.

Also, want to point out how important it is to request your item back if it does not meet their condition guidelines. The drop off is huge on this title. Like New gets $48.45 PP, Very Good gets $46.14, Acceptable gets only $4.31.
It's only for Xbox anyways.
Yeah, it was more of a general question as I have some other games I'm looking to send their way.

A lot of them are around that value, but I don't think it'd be worth it to get a $4 or so profit, especially considering what people have encountered with them.

Well shit. Secret's out, wonder how long it'll last now.

I think that's basically the gimmick with this service. Considering the amount of rejections we've seen with brand new games allegedly being "worn", I'm guessing they were hoping most people would just choose the "accept lower value" option and they could downgrade everybody. Lure people in with the big numbers, and then claim the items don't meet the requirement. Though, that doesn't explain the bumps people have been getting from "very good" to "like new", which is commendable (not to mention unnecessary) of them. This program really is a head scratcher.

In related news, my items that were received on 8/7 are still "processing". Hoping my payment gets sent soon.

Already secured my instant sell and my local BB has them in stock for store pick-up.

Keep this secret "in thread"

El Hoardo doesn't need to know about this one. Just us Half.com guys

well this thread grows since people keep bumping into onto the OP!! This needs to get moved to another section i think

Bought 2 Phelps and 3 Raymans. Will adjust them down sunday so 50 is gonna turn into 180!
Do most of u guys send in the game brand new sealed or open it then send it?
I always get that message now. The instant sale order still shows up though.

well there are people that have had sealed games rejected
They're fixing the flips. That's what you get for posting in a public forum! ;)
I have no choice but to discuss flips in the public forums now, since I was removed from Velo's group for some reason?

I'm not sure why I was removed, but when I went to post a deal there a couple of days ago, I was no longer a member.

Pretty sad, as I helped a lot of people out in that group, and contributed many past flips. I guess it was more of a what have you done for me lately decision.

Yeah! They went to my email, instantly!
well there are people that have had sealed games rejected
Really? Were they given a reason?

Oh my just read about this.

I have some new games sealed liked Dead Island ps3. Am I better sending it sealed or open the package and send it that way??? Btw if I trade in multiple games , they can all be sent in a box or individual each? Thank you.

Hey i can print again.

Go ahead and print your quotes just in case they change the order midway like they did for Rayman/Sleeping Dogs

Just asking because I briefly read new sealed games were being returned or ripped from a dumbo trying to open the seal. Guess I'll do that. Anyways is it me or is this trade in stuff "too good to be real"? Have some people got $40+ credit for $10 items?

Yeah. The decision was made recently to trim down everyone who wasn't at least trying to contribute something recently. This was due to far too many of the flips being exploited like crazy but not by the active portion of the group. So obviously some were sitting there just lurking the flips without trying to help out at all in return.

When confronted, some of them would make some lame excuse like 'omg I have a family and by the time I try to contribute someone else already posted what I was going to'.

I moved this thread to the "Deal/Shopping Discussion" forum. It really isn't a "Video Game Deal" anyway.

I'm still waiting on word on payout from my stuff received on 8/6 - they've never taken more than 1 day before. One of those items is still "pending audit" while the rest are "processing". There are no other notes. And yeah, I checked PayPal and no payment.

Same here. Is it because of an upgrade of the offer? I'm not sure. But I hope it pays out soon.

I sent in a single copy of Rage by itself that I'd had sitting on my shelf from when it was on sale for $5 a while back. It sat in Processing for almost 3 days before the payment went through.

I shared and helped others much more than I benefited from the group, so it's no big deal really. Just kind of chicken shit to go and remove a past contributor when they have done nothing wrong. Velo himself was MIA for long periods of time...actually the only person I remember using the family excuse was him.

Oh well, now I MUST post on the public forums if I wish to share/discuss flips. I thought the point of the group was to keep flipping activity off of the public forums...guess I was wrong.
