Halo 3 - General Discussion & Info
Bots would be really cool. I would enjoy playing someone who can't be a duche in halo 3. and bots are the answer.
LOL I guess you haven't played unreal tournament with bots or dealt with your team ai in Rainbow Six or Ghost Recon. They still get in your way and shoot you in the ass. Good team ai needs too much computing power. Enemy ai on the other hand works well enough and bungie already wrote some decent enemy ai code. I guess it wouldn't be hard to implement bots as long as it were ffa or you vs a team of them.
Goddamn is that system ugly.
And the old Halo Xbox looked so good, too.
I really like it. It's olive drab, and the highlights are the most appropriate metal color. If I was just getting in on it now I'd probably get one, although I don't quite know if I like it $50 better.

You want to talk ugly, talk about those controllers that have action shots on them like a kid's Halloween costume.

The part where the Arbiter and Master Chief meet up is great. I'm at the part where the Cheif is on the ship. I'm thinking this is the end of the game? Hard as a bitch, IMO. They give me crap weapons.

Also, I'm starting to really like the Arbiter alot. I mean, Master Chief is bad ass and all, but I honestly think that the Halo series needed a, how can I put this, Richie Cunninghan to Master Chief's The Fonz. I don't see how anyone couldn't feel the least bit sympathetic to Arbiter's story, no matter how bad you wanted to play as the chief. I can't wait to play as him in Halo 3.
I can't wait to play as him in Halo 3.
Only in co-op.

Single player is all Master Chief again!

Damn it.

They better give master chief some back story to make up for this. I guess they really hated the fans' reaction to playing as the Arbiter.

Hmm, has anyone ever had any problems with Buy.com? I'm thinking of pre-ordering Halo 3 (Legendary Edition), since the website has the cheapest price for the LE, that I've seen...

You can read the first Halo book if you wanted to learn about the MC and the Spartan II program.

Single player is all Master Chief again!
Thank goodness. I would've much rather had a RE4 Main Story / Separate Ways type setup to Halo 2 than the way it was designed. I didn't really dig moving back and forth between the two, regardless of how interlinked they were.
And people diss the halo 2 story but, i kinda liked it.
I know when I hate on the Halo 2 single player, it's only because I am comparing it to Halo 1.

There all the same. Go to EB or GameStop. But, if you have a local store support them instead of the rich assholes at eb/gs.
So....wheres the best place to preorder this baby?
Target or CC for now.

CC- Wall Graphic.
Target - Halo actionclix.

Im gonna head out today and get Stranglehold CE for ps3 preordered and halo 3....but im getting Stranglehold at Babbage's (gamestop). The poster and figurines dont really excite me and Best Buy has the points card offer whle Blockbuster has the 10 dollars off...

I have a 10$ giftcard at Blockbuster so I may get it there in the end...
With ~3 weeks to go, I suppose I should preorder it...any places that have deals?
I'd like to know as well. Guess I'll take a stroll through the deals forum.
So....wheres the best place to preorder this baby?
FamilyVideo.com has the regular edition for $49.99 - $5 off for new customers. Or $59.99 for the CE/LE - $5 for new customers...$0.99 shipping, should get it there in a week or so if you don't mind waiting.

*Edit:

Here's the Reg. Version and Here's the CE Version. And here's the Code for $5: NEWPGMEM

Well. Blockbuster is 3 blocks from me and they might get orders in for it. I have a 10$ gc there and with that extra 10 off i might get it there...

Best Buy is still having the preorder and get a 1600 point card for $5 deal. It was better when they let you get 3, of course, but still not a bad deal.

Does anyone know if I preordered online for instore pickup with my credit card, can I get it switched a gift card if I have one when H3 hits?
i hope he dies
Leave CAG and never come back.

It was not "hip" or "funny." It was not "a joke" nor do I need to "lighten up." Just leave and be done.

well ive already taken 3 days off work. i plan on playing straight through until i hav to go back to work. ill probably just sit on a trash can or somethign to shit in. its kind of a pain to have to walk down the hall to the bathroom.

Meijer is giving a T-shirt with a preorder. Just says Halo 3 on it, simple but not bad looking, XL size only.

On the Halo series page at Wikipedia, an edit originated from Sony Computer Entertainment casts aspersions on Microsoft's Halo 3. In the Halo 3 section of the Halo page, Sony added "(Halo 3) wont look any better than Halo 2." (See the first and second story images attached below.) Since then, the Halo page has been corrected and locked from further vandalism.

The WikiScanner discovery is also reported on Wired's 'Threat Level'. (See Alternative Sources.) The report and IP address have been checked by Wired senior editor Kevin Poulsen, (i.e., see the third attached image for Poulsen's comments; "Sony insults Halo 3" is the second report after the Walmart report.)

Finally, the forth and last image was taken from a 'Whois' search at the RIPE.net database for "217.18.23.2", the IP address recorded by Wikipedia as having edited the Halo page. The query shows that 217.18.23.2 is registered to SCEE (Sony Computer Entertainment Europe) Liverpool Studios in Great Britain. The result also shows the studio's physical address, phone number, and email address.
Pretty sad if you ask me.

This is funny and sad...Sony tries to diss Halo through its wiki:
wikihalo3sonydiss.jpg

Our friends over at Sony HQ must be at their whits end with all this Halo 3 talk, because they devilishly and secretly stuck it to the Halo franchise with a ::gasp:: Wikipedia revision! Using WikiScanner, it was discovered that an IP address originating out of Sony's UK studios edited the Wikipedia entry for "Halo series" dissing Halo 3's graphics. Sony's Wiki revision poked fun of the game's graphics by saying that they "wont look any better than Halo 2". Ouch Sony, just ouch. But don't worry Halo fanboys, because the Halo series wiki entry has since been corrected and set to a semi-locked status. Take that Halo haters!
