Holy fuck that was amazing. I might cry if the Chief dies in this game...not kidding.

Also, would you guys call me really retarded if say...I didn't want to wait in line at EB to get my Legendary Edition and just go to Wal-Mart and get a regular edition, then pick up the LE during the day time on the 25th? AKA getting 2 copies. I just remember the H2 launch. I got to my EBX like 3 hours ahead and STILL I didn't get my hands on a copy until around 1:15 AM. I have an 8 AM class the next day, and all I want to do is play some damn Halo 3 before I go to that class. Is spending $190 on 1 game just asinine?

I wouldnt. Just wait in line, you might get a fun experience out of it.

I'm not getting Halo 3 at launch for a few reasons:
First, my friend can't afford it yet and I don't have enough to lend him to get it. The only reason I'd even play H3 is to play Co-op through with him or Multiplayer on Live.

Second, I like the game, but to me it's not a $60 game. I bought Halo 2 when it was on sale for $30 and I bought Gears of War when it came down to $44.99 new at Gamestop.

The only reason I keep so up to date with the launch is because my friend is getting the legendary edition. He is considering cancelling it though because the helmet isn't lifesize.

Rock Band says hello.
Rock Band says hello.
Yeah that games' gonna do crazy for the price. There's just too much hype on GH for Rock Band to not sell well.

I really wish they'd make a new Steel Batallion game, but that didn't do so well :(
QFT, and why does it say September 26th?
UK release date. That's also why the date is "backwards", compared to how we normally see it in the US.
Oh shit, that commercial is sick.

The one with the old man eats dick.
Agreed. The museum one is pretty crappy.

EDIT: With some editing of the mad world song, it would fit perfectly.

These ads are probably not even the ones that will be used here in the US. I thought they were both lousy but they may have tested well with a uk test group so thats what they're getting.

I've heard a lot more positive feedback, than bad over the new one. This cost them quite a bit of money, I'm certain these will be the American ads too.

Three things to say:

I'm only buying this game to play the campaign co-op, hopefully it will be the first Halo game I manage to finish.

I must be the only one that liked the museum commercial, I thought it was different and interesting.

If Microsoft were smart they'd be releasing the game packed in with the console 2 weeks early.

I think there would be a lot of returns 14 days later.
Note to Master Chief: Please Die This Time...

that way I can at least respect the Halo series a bit more :)
Care to explain why his death would make you respect the series more?
I realize that this has been asked before, but what preorder deals are there?
I need to get make sure I get one launch night.
I'm getting the free action clix at Target.

I was excited for this game until I heard about The Forge. This game is fucked, that is going to break the game.

Thank god Call Of Duty 4 is shaping up to be kickass.

Why would it be fucked?

I really like these new commericals. I think I might actually like the museum one better than the newer one, but they're both very cool.

I've got high hopes for the campaign on this puppy.

Hold on, I may have overreacted. Is Forge avaliable althrough out all multiplayer types or does it have it's own section?

The Forge is also a multiplayer game. Up to 8 players can hop into a Forge session at one time and fight on teams against each other. When you go into the editing mode, you become a monitor, just like Guilty Spark. You're still vulnerable in this state and can't attack, but you can drop or move any object you want. You can also delete objects the enemy has laid down. See that guy running towards a Warthog…whoops! No more Warthog. The currency limit on the map is shared between the two teams, according to Jarrard, making the rush to create objects for your team and delete them from others seriously intense.

We asked. You can't delete a vehicle while someone is in it. Nor can you delete a tail end of a series of warp nodes to trap opponents in limbo. But you can do some pretty cool things that might not initially be considered options. Dropping fusion coils from a large enough height will cause a nice explosion. Dragging a teleporter through the air as your teammates pop out of it (while the teleporter is carried over a wall!) can create a nice element of surprise. The options are essentially limitless. If things get too crazy, the party leader can limit the people who can edit the game to him or herself or leave it as global.

That doesn't sound fun at all.

It's its own beast. Forge will mostly be played with your friends to make wacky gametypes or just to do something really creative.

You can't mess with maps in ranked matches or even in regular custom games.

So has anyone else not finished Halo 2's campaign? I just now beat bioshock, so I'm going to try to make it through the final few levels to have that completed before Halo 3.

Its totally seperate, and when you see it in action (which many of us have) you'll be hooked. Words describing forge don't work well, actual video does.

If they can make a game of baseball using Forge...imagine the possibilities. I personally can't wait to try this with some friends.

"The above image shows just how to scale the Warthog that WETA has been making is – that’s a real life human manning the gun. While there’s still not too much to talk about regarding the excellent work of Neill Blomkamp, the studio did get a sneak peak of his next short earlier this week. It prompted a number of “Wait, was that a…” and “ZOMGz” from the various folks around here, and needless to say, when it surfaces next, you’re in for a gritty and delightful treat."

I'm hoping / praying that my connection here at school is good enough to play Halo 3 without any hitches.... fingers crossed! I may have to get my own, seperate connection in my apartment if it's not.....
Care to explain why his death would make you respect the series more?
It's a fanboy epidemic. I would rather see the Halo as a universe be good and not be crutched by Master chief as being the only iconic thing the series relies on.

How can you say that?

Of course Master Cheif is the most iconic, because he is the main character.

That's not to say he is the only icon. Look at Halo Wars, which has plenty of buzz just for being set in the Halo universe and Master Cheif isn't involved at all.

Or, the lady spartan in DOA4.

MC is definitely not the only thing Halo fans care about.

That's like asking for a Mario game without Mario in it.

The Halo universe is gigantic. The books explore this, so does the graphic novel, and so does the first comic.
