Yea, I saw that yesterday. It has 2 really good exclusive videos which are like interviews with Bungie crew but also shows a shiton of MP footage (lots of repeating clips though). What is good about it is that its actually of good video quality, so you actually get a sense of what you will be seeing in a couple of weeks, not some cloudy as video where you cannot tell the difference between a Ghost or a Spectre or an ATV and a Warthog.
 
Is the Legendary Edition expected to atleast retain it's value?

I'm debating whether I should pre-order it at Best Buy and maybe parlay it into something nice later if the helmet turns out to be something I really don't want.

Well they have said that the Legendary will most likely sell out in the first week if not the first day. And they are all numbered and the factory that made the boxes is closed so YES, they should hold their value, they won't be like the Halo 2 limited edition that you could still find months if not years later.
 
I'm sure it will be "limited", but by whose definition? Heck, Blockbuster just started taking preorders for Halo 3 on Tuesday and the Legendary Edition was an option.

It could be limited to 250,000 or 2,500,000. Either way, I think it will retain it's value for quite some time.
 
Legendary will not retain it's value. It is in no way "uber-elite limited", there are a TON of copies considering that you can still preorder it.

This will definitely not be a MGS3: Subsistence LE (even people who preordered didn't get it)

I'm a big halo fan (been one since halo 1, through halo pc, halo 2 , halo 3 beta, and soon to be halo 3), but even I can see that there is no reason for it to hold or become rarer simply considering how many have been manufactured. There might as well be a "Platinum Hits" version of the Legendary edition.

Agreed. There was some article that stated GS/EB pre-order numbers for Halo 3 regular edition and the legendary edition were almost 1 to 1. That's not rare.
 
Humm not sure how exclusive it is but I qualified for the San Francisco Event. Gee for $500 I can fly 2000 miles to play halo 3 on an Imax screen. Think I'll pass...to bad the pass is not transferable
 
Hey would any want to have a tournament starting around Noon on the 25th? I would like one and I would do it at midnight but the servers are gonna be swamped and I also am going to an actual in person Halo 3 tourny at midnight at the GS I am gonna buy Halo 3 from.

So would any be interested in that?
 
In terms of value, I'll stick with the limited edition. I can't justify spending $160 Canadian for some extra stuff that will probably just lie around, and which I will get bored with soon.

So I decided to preorder at Target. Not because I think the game will be hard to get, but because I wanted the HaloClix set it comes with. After I checkout and the kid is handing me my card he says "Remember to be here by 8 to get the figures." "eight....am?" I replied incredulously. "Yeah, to be sure you get them."

"I can't be here at 8am, I have a job. I planned to come by at lunch and pick it up." I reply.

"Well, they don't actually count the preorders, they send us enough for the first 50 or so people. I don't know how long they'll last"

"So why I am preordering?" I ask, again incredulously.

"So you get the game!"

WTF? I'd better get my figures. At least the Target preorder is just a gift card so Im not committed if I find something better in the next couple weeks.

I wasn't going to originally, but I think I'll show up for the midnight release at GameStop, I was gonna work graveyard that night, preventing me from even trying, but now I get off at midnight, so I'll mozey on over there around 12:30 and get in the back of the line, why not eh?

are they going to have extra Legendary editions because I am not driving all the way into Kentucky in the middle of the night to get turned away and have to wait 10 more hours. With the way CC has been I don't trust them with my pre-order any more.

Someone needs to leek some pics of the stuff at best buy* before I run to circuit city and burn off these gift* cards on it...If its good then I may shell out more at Best Buy for the stuff,, rather then CC or Blockbuster.
