Halo 3 - General Discussion & Info
Good Launch night...

Got my Halo 3 at GS.
Won a $25 gift card from GS.

and perhaps the best/most bizarre event of the night was having some random chick in walmart walk by me and grab my butt.

ps. do you guys have any good stories about how people reacted once they got it? the first guy to get a legendary, took off in a full sprint through the mall. i don't think he was trying to funny, i think he was either scared someone was going to take it, or so excited to get to play it.
Wow!!

Yay for overnight shipping (game already made it to Winnipeg)

Boo for signature requirement (I'm stuck at work and will likely have to pick up the game from a stank Purolator depot tomorrow)

I don't know why, but this looks like some sci-fi rap battle to me. (especially with that guy on the mic)

I picked up my preorder at a local game store in town. Probably only 20 people in line and a lot of them were just there with friends. I drove up at 11:45 and it was very simple. The best part though was a kid probably 13 or 14 and his dad and it was his birthday. He had the biggest smile going home. Everyone else was like business men types or college kids just trying to avoid the rush of a big retailer.

Anyway for never playing a Halo online before, I think I'm doing alright online. I keep wanting to call for an Airstrike though ;)

Some of you guys got both a shirt and hat at Best Buy? I'm jealous, they had us pick between a shirt or hat. I took the shirt, but I really wanted a hat too! Also, they were only giving out the chairs to people who had preorders. Oh well, it was fun and I got the second to last non-preorder Legendary.

You can sometimes call the shipper and tell them you would rather pick up than hve signature delivery. That might save you day... now its probably too late though.

You may want to play dumb and show up at the Purolator depot after work. If the driver has made it back to the hub before you arrive there you might get lucky. Try to take the door tag and show up there about 15 minutes before they close. Good luck.

Is that a lightsaber in the forground? AM I a dork for noticing that first?

I didn't notice any type of shenanigans at my local Game Crazy, other than the fact that, and I am being totally honest here, I was probably one of the coolest guys there. The entire placed was swamped with fat, zit faced, man titted, sweaty, greasey palmed losers. I say the crowd was 90% scrub geeks, 3% "Madden/GTA/Halo" frat guys, 2% normal looking people, 2% mid-30's, early 40's dudes wearing board shorts, and then 3% little kids and their parents escorting them.

The gamestop I went to was filled with normal guys, and a bunch of spoiled rich kid douchebags that felt the need to pretend they were in the Fast and the Furious when leaving the parking lot. I think one of them burned the clutch out in his shitty wrecked old jetta. Perhaps I'm getting old, but I don't remember being a complete douchenozzle when I was under 20...and it seems like everyone under 20 that I see lately is an absolute asshole.

wow the LA launch event was the dumbest crap ever. Not much schwag at all, definetly not worth the wait.

Major Nelson... false advertising prick
Woohoo for butt grabbing!
Yes, woohoo. It was one of the more stranger surreal things that I've had happen to me. I was walking by her, and I looked over and saw her looking at me and I was about to turn to my friend and comment on her looking at us and I see her hand out of the corner of my eye move up, and then "Pow" she smacks me right on my wallet and grabs. Had it not been for the wallet, well I'm not sure.

And she looked normal (not like she grabs butt all the time) she was actually decent looking.

So iunno, maybe it was just my night.

Until they get online and start getting called ninjas incessantly.

i didn't see you in toledo? i thought your location says Pittsburgh? ;)

My Legendary Edition from BestBuy.com arrived today. Not bad for $2 ground shipping! Looking to join some 4-player co-op on Legendary if anyone wants to get together tonight.

should have returned the favor

not like she grabs butt all the time....

Anyhow, I just got back from picking mine up, girl at the gamestop was making mention that they've been instructed to swap the CE's game disc with the regular Halo edition disc if so requested by the customer.

For the amazingly long line last night, there were still 30 or 40 copies of the game just sitting.

1. Get butt-slapped
2. Return the favor
3. ???
4. PROFIT! (bow chika bow wow)

Haha, real cool guys always go to a midnight launch for a video game. Just ask Fonzie.

I pounded a Rockstar while waiting in line and couldn't sleep until 3 a.m. so it was a good night. The line at Gamestop where I was waiting had a lot of cars roasting tires ... in fact a muscle car almost spun out and slammed into a giant pillar in front of the store.

It would have been pretty messed up to see half the line of people looting the Gamestop while other half was calling 911.

Let me tell ya, this game is fucking hard to resist. it's everywhere here-- store windows, people talking about it in class, many guys not in class probably playing it, people talking about it everywhere I go.

fixed.

My CE was presumably unopened and had the game in a sleeve, no scratches for me. Dunno if that was already mentioned by anyone else, just thought I'd throw it out there.

I have to wait until 9 to play it though :(

If any one in Cincinnati was looking to get the Legendary Edition when I went to Circuit city off the norwood lateral at 10 they had 6 left, plus a lot of all the other version.
I JUST BEAT IT! Wow, what an ending. That was a sick game but kind of short IMO.
What difficulty did you play at? Heroic is considered the 'standard' difficulty. It was mentioned that normal makes things insanely easy.

Im just kidding I didnt beat it! I was just fuckin around. If I were too I would definitely play on heroic. I also read that in IGN's article that Normal was just too damn easy and playin on this difficulty wont allow you to see the amped up enemy AI.

so why the fuck don't my screenshots show up on the bungie site? ever time i take a photo it says uploading to Bungie.net. I go there and nothing is there :(

Went to Target, and had to open up 4 CEs before I got a good one. Dude was nice about it, though.

I was able to play through the first mission earlier, and it seemed quality, but I had/have class until 5. My roommates are presumably enjoying the spoils without havin' to have done any of the work or pay. Bastards.

I fucking hate that...i rooamte doesn't buy anything gaming related because he knows I will. So he gets to play all the goodness without any sacrifice.

I go there and nothing is there :(
Go to the theater lobby, then choose the 3rd option, select File Share and put your screens up there. They'll show up on Bungie.net under File Share. From there, click on the photo and you can choose to save it to your gallery.

I played a single basic training game and the first level of campaign co-op, and I'm just blown away by the gameplay and the saved films/screens thing. And this is coming from someone who's not a big Halo fan.

Good fun. I do have a question. The frame rate for me during Live seems a bit slower in general than Halo 2. Not laggy, but just a bit clunkier. I'm wondering this is a problem with my 360? Halo 2 has a shitty frame rate when I play it on the 360 (Most of the time when I see Halo 2 on another 360 it's just glitchy but my frame rate just plain sucks) Anyone know anything? Slightly OTT.
At any rate, ace game. Love it, want to play through the campaign a little more.

I need help…
I’m playing on legendary and getting the crap kicked out of me. I’m at the dam level where you have to rescue the squad. Well I can make it to the room by cutting underneath the dam but when I get there they say I need to cut the power. Where the heck do I cut the power at? Also I’d rather just knock out legendary on 4 player co-op if anyone is up for it. I will be available at 7:00 PM CST.

I hate that I have to wait another day to play this. My girlfriend left my gift card that I had for Blockbuster/Gamerush to get a copy at home this morning and by the time she went home to get it they were sold out at all of my local stores. So, I will have to wait a minute because I rather use the credit than spending 60 bucks cash because the credit for it only cost me 25 bucks.

Here's something I have to say about this game's length:
Unless the last 3 levels of this game are 2 hours each, there's no way in hell it's 10-15 hours long. More like 6-8.

Have you even read the internets about Halo 3?

Snuk out of work to pick up the Legendary edition at GameStop...The guy at the counter told me to be careful when taking the sleeve out as it unfolds into a poster...sounds pretty cool. They also had a bunch of stickers, t-shirts, keychains, wallets, belts...well half of the stuff was gone, the guy told me that they had a shotgun shell keychain that was pretty sweet...I ended up picking up the strategy guide and a "Legendary Skull" decal for my ride. Can't wait to get home and open up this puppy!

Just finished the game on Normal. Started playing at like 9:30 AM today, and only had 1 50 minute class. Besides that I played most of the day. I'd estimate it probably took about 8 hours, give or take an hour (most likely take).

Is there a way to stop co-op campaign without going to the dashboard? I did 2 player co-op with a buddy and I couldnt figure out how to stop so we just finished the entire game.

And man, was is repetitive. Go this way, now that your here, run back the way you came! Annoying.

Also, today will be the only day I ever see everyone on my friends list playing the same game. Just got offline and I had 23 people online....23 people on Halo 3.
