Halo 3 - General Discussion & Info

I went on an impulse to pick this up after work (around 5:40, local time), and it was sold out everywhere I looked. Not that I'm really complaining, as I could have easily gone to grab it this morning, I'm just kind of surprised that the shelves wouldn't be overflowing anywhere you went for at least the first week.
 
Well, to be honest, the coops really dissapointed me so far. It's fun and all if there are 4 people but so far I only played with one other person over Live. Now I just gotta catch up with my other friends so we can play together.
 
Got this tihs afternoon and palyed through the first 3 levels. It screams te polish and fun that Halo 2's SP never had. It's not the most revolutionary game ever, it's not the best game ever, but it is darn fun. :)

I'm enjoying the blips of Cortanna. I'm excited to see where the story leads!

Question for the MP natives out there. I played one round of Slayer online that I found via matchmaking. I won with 24 kills (who-hoo!), but I have no record of that in my account on bungie.net, while my single player stuff is there. Did I mess something up. Are only ranked matches housed there? I had little to no idea what I was doing. ;)

But now, I have to work till 11:00, school tomorrow from 7:30-12:30, and then work from 1:00-5:00 so it'll be a good 24 hours before I play again most likely.

I was in a Sears today and noticed they had about 10 CE copies and around 20 normal versions just sitting there... I imagine they'll be around for a while :)
 
In Forge it sometimes won't let me press up on the D Pad to go to edit mode, I have to press start. then click edit mode. Is this a glitch?

It's not fair to expect people to pay $70 extra just for the DVD---plus if that
wasn't bad enough you get stuck with some fisher price toy LOL.

The people who buy the Legendary edition are probably the least likely
to need a recap since they are the biggest fans.

Did anyone have an issue getting the "Basic Training" achievement besides me? I posted a thread about it on Bungie.net and no one has the same issue, but I was hoping Bungie would give me a response.
 
If anyone is up for a coop game around 8 central just message me or do what ever it is you need to do. I have never played a coop game on live. Well that is if silver can get in on the coop games. I know they are leting silver accounts on for some of the deathmatches but not all of them. Account name is Shazo.
 
I'll say Slickkill, I started on that this time, so as to make the whole thing last longer and such. OMG I am getting owned left and right and some areas seem near impossible to get through. Its fun though.
 
I'm not even going to try legendary. I'm only on chapter 3 on normal and its a bitch. I thought I would get the achievements on easy by doing a quick run tonight and some tomorrow then do some multiplayer. Now I have to do it on normal to get most of them. Didn't think normal would be as much of a pain as it is. Hell for me it is harder on normal then other games are on normal and some even on hard.
 
So, for the screen shots and stuff, I need to go into the theater after a single player or multiplayer game is done and mess around with stuff? I didn't really get a chance to play with that fewature, but ti was one I'm looking forward to a lot!

I'm geting on now if anyone wants to get a coop game going. I'm not sure if they made that for gold members only or if it is included with what silver members can do for the next 3 days on live. If we can get one going again name is shazo.

Craziness.

I've never been a big Halo fan (or much of a Halo fan at all) and I'm really liking this game.

I've only played single player so far. I'm hoping online impresses me with the way people talk about it.

yea so for everyone that said THIS GAME WILL BE SOLD OUT. "you wont be able to get a copy if you dont reserve". well i walked into blockbuster today after school, asked the lady for a halo 3, i bought it and left. i didnt have a reservation....

Canada isn't America where Halo is revered making it next to impossible to find out here. Most stores laugh at me or say that all editions are out.

Blockbuster....we don't have any more of those out here since they downsized some years back. I would have to go 20-30 miles to the other side of the city for one of those.

True. But man, I'm Halo 3'd out. My local Futureshop ordered at LEAST 150 copies of Halo. There were SO many!
 
Oh and btw, it seems Halo 3 has already brought Microsoft to its' knees. Major Nelson is down. My Xbox.com is down. Or at least I'm getting error messages in special Microsoft borders telling me error.

This hence, brought COD4 down. Says I need to be on live. While I'm attempting to load the game, I get mass messages inviting me back to Halo 3. I played last night to get a feel for it, the game sucks, and I don't see why it is so popular.
 
Good point. Linkpwns invited me to a game and it said it couldn't connect to XBL...

I wonder how many Red Rings they have up at Microsoft?

Whats weird was Halo 3 itself is working fine online.

Everything other than gameplay is completely messed up. All Gamercard features, Marketplace, MyGamercard.net, Even Majornelson has ceased to work but Halo 3 Online gameplay keeps on trucking.
