Halo on XBConnect tonight, who wants to come?

Let's host a CAG Halo match on XBConnect tonight. Anyone who wants to, post what kind of connection you have so we can see who has the fastest. Also, I don't know much about XBC, but can you have password-locked rooms?

Yeah, pretty much. I would play Halo on Live, but that's impossible. :wink:
 
I have it set up, I like it more than XB Tunnel on Gamespy. Even with a cable connection though, the lag is incredibly sketchy. On a related note, anyone up for some PC Halo? Because I'm about to get on.

I used to think exactly the same thing about it always lagging, but I was wrong. You can find a lot of lag-free games if you try.
 
I got fiber optics 10000/10000, my friends and I play on there sometimes, but LAN is more fun. I would get some friends over and play tonight but I have a BF1942 match, and those are damn fun. Maybe some other time, ill be gone til sunday, but with my sexy fiber optics hosting is no prob for me, but other people still need good connections.
 
I play on XBC also. Look for DrizztDourden on there sometime. Also, if you host your own games, there is no lag.

sry, i acctually posted the wrong speed, we just got it upgraded a few weeks ago, its now at 3mbps.. and no theres not a second of lag (there used to be with the old speed, but it was only $5 more to upgrade so we went for that!)
 
im in as long as you start after 8 (family guy is on till then :)) how about some FFA slayer?

First and foremost, you need to have your Xbox on the same network as your computer, that's the main thing. If you already have that done, just go http://xbconnect.com. On the left of the screen, click on "Downloads". On that page, scroll down to the bottom and download XBConnect 4.1 beta 2 (Full). From there all you gotta do is install it and make a name, then get to playing! The interface can be kinda difficult, so if you need help joining a game or whatever, IM me.

Damn, I gotta find me a router. I wouldn't mind trying this online because I don't know anyone to play with locally. Most of my friends prefer sports games for multiplayer fun.

3mbps I'm guessing you have bellsouth extreme. If so have you had any touble with them ? I am planning on getting 3000/384 from bellsouth or netrox. Also how are your pings??

Anyone wanna play this sometime today? Also, how do I find games? I just downloaded the new Direct Connect and I can't find Halo games at all and the damn spammers on XBC won't answer any questions.

Any of you guys have experience with installing a Linksys router? I've been working on it all day and my head is about to explode. I couldn't even get on the net for awhile, but I got that fixed again now.
 
hey xboxmaster, if you want a challenge, my friend, Michael is pretty good...he got 4th in the state (north carolina) in a halo tourney in Charlotte...

The XBC part isn't what is giving me problems. I now can't even get the router to work. Anyone know how I could uninstall it to start over again? Also, would my cable provider probably have a static or an IP address that changes?
 
Well now that a few of us got each other's usernames for XBC I thought I'd try to set up a game again. Can anyone be on anytime later tonight? I can be on whenever so anytime works for me.

Also, for anyone that uses this can we play with more than just four Xbox's? Does just the host need XBC Pro to do it?
 
Damn, I'm no longer available to play. The computer I had XBConnect on died and I can't download it on this one. I'll post again on this thread when I can play again, though.
 
Does anyone have the version you pay for so they can host more?

I'm Ultimate Matt X or UlitmateMattX on there, I think its with the spaces. I'll look for you guys now.
 
I'd like to play sometime, my two roomates play too, usually after 9pm, we're in wisconsin, whatever time zone that is.
