Halo: Reach
Yep, I was using the Fuel Rod gun as well. Part issue was getting the 4 and 5 kills instead of 2 and wasting enemies some times!
?

A triple+ kills count so in effect it takes fewer enemies to get to the 35.

2 enemies = 1 double kill
+1 = triple
+1 = overkill
+1 = killtacular

5 enemies = 4 multikills as opposed to 2 enemies for every one multikill.

I don't think it was counting them that way yesterday. a double kill=1 multi kill toward the challenge. triple kill=one multi kill during the challenge.

It wasn't kill 35 enemies with multi kills, but rather earn 35 multi kill medals. I checked the medal count in the post game stats and the number of double, triple kill etc. medals equaled the progress number on the challenge meter.

i.e. one game that I had 31 or whatever in the challenge meter at the end of the round, my medal count was like 28 double kills, 2 triple kills and an overkill. So for progress on the challenge you want 2 double kills from a 4 enemy group, rather than one overkill.

yeah, that's why i tried to get all double kills only. the challenges tend to have a different interpretation of what counts and what doesnt sometimes. i.e. the 20 assist in one match glitch without dying. (everytime you died you couldn't earn any more assists in a MM)
I think I might sell this. :/ I'm just having no interest in it whatsoever nowadays. I'm sure the whole no-internet has something to do with it, and I'll regret it later, but I just wasn't having fun last time I was playing.

I'm really disappointed nowadays with gaming on my TV, since I found out that the reason I'm having all that input lag is because, well, a good HDTV for games is one that has a 4ms or below response time, and mine has...8. Double the lag. No wonder I could never get Rock Band to calibrate correctly.
Input lag will usually have another reason. 8ms response time is plenty and It's easy to prove. If you have one frame every 8 ms, You could have as many as 125 frames in one second. Considering Rockband probably runs at 60 frames per second, you could have a 16 ms response time and be fine. Input lag is usually a factor with most HDtvs. Since CRT is instant and LCD and whatnot have that little bit of lag. Even the TVs that have around 4ms of response time really don't, It's kindof a marketing gimmick. They know 8ms is plenty fast anyway.

Right, but you don't just get an overkill when you kill 4 enemies. You get the double, then you get the triple, then you get the overkill. They stack, so you get all three.

So in your example of a group of 4 you would get the double, a triple and an overkill netting you 3 multi-kills instead of getting 2 for two double kills.

i refuse to do the challenge to complete nightfall on legendary without dying. Nightfall and the Pillar of Autumn are the 2 campaign maps that were the most frustrating during the "a monument to all your sins achievement"

I rarely do any of the "complete this level" challenges anymore. I just didn't like most of the campaign levels that much to go back to them. I'd much rather play some matchmaking or another game.

Ah, I wasn't aware of that and no way to know from counting medals after the match.

Well that's probably why it took me some more time since I was trying to avoid killing more than 2 at a time.

In any case, was a pretty annoying one that I'll skip if it comes up again. Just forcing myself to finish the grind up to Lt. Col at this point....not sure if I'll make it with Black Ops coming out on Tuesday.

Got multikill on my 3rd try. Courtyard was a great map to get challenge. Head out the door and head directly left to the end.

There is an ordnance chest at the end and you have a long sight line down the walk way. I routinely get several overkill medals as grunts come up the ramp at the far end of the walkway.

Additionally, there are a couple of spawn spots near there. A well placed grenade at reinforcement spawn can get you an overkill medal. I ended the game with 30 doubles, 13 triples, and 4 overkills (not my personal best).

Is there some sort of trick to the air duct on the sword base. You know the one in the top floor, that leads up to a hole where you can see the other side of the map. It doesnt seem to matter if im trying to shoot someone as i go in it, or trying to shoot someone as they are trying to come up it, i always die. But its like they shoot me before i can even see there heads.

Right now the only thing i like to play is swat. Just tried to play multiteam but i really hate ARs. They take forever to kill someone. It just sucks when you shoot someone 3-4 times in the face in swat, and they done die, but they end up killing you after. I know ive already talked about that a few times, but it really gets annoying. I bet i average at least 5 kills per game or more that i get screwed out of.

Yea, that's a good a map to do well on Score Attack. Courtyard and Corvette are pretty much my go to maps when I need to get something done in FF MM. I got yesterday's daily challenge on Corvette by just waiting for them all to come down the center ramp and racking up the headshots. The only thing that messes you sometimes are the Grunts with helmets.

Holdout is probably my favorite for G-Poc (easy to stay in the storeroom you spawn in and pop in and out the doors shooting them), followed by Courtyard and Corvette.

Basically anywhere I can stay near an ammo box and only have grunts coming from one direction. Glacier is ok as well.

It's just timing and how the camper in the yellow lift room is positioned. Sometimes going in with the magnum is good because the RoF is a bit faster than the DMR, you can also try going in backwards if you think the guy is in the left corner (most common corner to camp) going up. Otherwise, i've played SWAT games on swordbase where 1 guy camped the room most of the match and we just ran around skirmishing with the other team. 3 v 4. This is also true to the red lift. I think I misread your post. Go in, and shoot as soon as you come out in the direction you think the camper is hiding. Sometimes, just turning a corner and blind firing at head level will get you some lucky kills...but it will give away your location if no one is there.

As for the AF, it's not everyone's wpn but I wouldn't mind having it instead of my magnum for SWAT on some maps (I didn't think AF spawned on SWAT game mode). Burst fire does wonders until you close the gap then just lay on the trigger for full auto. Also ppl have theories about if the AF works when you aim for the head or not. Most ppl say due to the random shooting pattern you net more hits if you aim for center mass than a lucky shot to the head.

I dont mean the air lift room, i mean the vent thats in the room across from the air lift room. It has no air lift.... its just a small vent you walk up or down.

Right on.

If you know they're there, just wait them out. Most times the guy up there is scanning but also paranoid someone will run up on his ass. If you can coordinate and draw his fire with a teammate you can get'em that way. Or just aim upwards and move out to the side to line up the shot vs. line up the shot after you've moved out into the kill zone. Annoying yes, but it's not the end of places to camp on swordbase in SWAT.

Courtyard and Corvette are my 2 primary maps. Beach head and Overlook are secondary maps that I do from time-to-time. Not fan of the other maps, but I probably should explore them some more.

Yeah, the thing about that space is that it's such a popular place to camp, everyone knows that there is probably someone in there. And anyone in there knows that someone is probably about to come up that ramp.

Well, as long as someone got it that's fine with me. But it was literally within 1 minute of posting... and that included rusty trying the codes and writing a reply. Damn.

Usually i hate elites, but i found out playing Multiteam Elites is a good way to rack up "Jack of all trades" commendation. You can really rack up the rejections, EMP blasts, and needle kills in a match. I got 23 Jack of all trade medals during one match. I only need about 600 more JOAT medals for my 12th onyx commendation. :D

Not sure if there is another thread on this, but i got my noble 6 avatar helmet code today in my email. I think it was from pre ordering the year of xbox live? Im dont really remember.

Ever since the cap was lifted, I have been the talk of the lobby. I usually get a friend request every other game. What I hear in the lobby is "Dude, he's a Brigadier" or " What helmet is that? I want it" and the occasional "He has no life". But what I find most flattering is when I play infection. My team is huddled around me, looking at my armor, while completely ignoring the zombies LOL. One time, a zombie was right behind me, but one guy saved me and said "Saved yah. I love you Penguin!" My inbox gets littered with messages on how to get my helmet or how do I rank so fast. I feel famous. Brings me back to the days when I was ranked Number 1 on the Ninja Gaiden II leaderboards or when I was in the top 15 in Perfect Dark .

Wow im really loving the cR you can gain since the cap was removed. I only used to get about 30k-40k tops a day if i played a ton. Today i got 57,000, and only have 49,000 left before i hit Brigadier grade 3. Should be able to get that tomorrow. Wonder if i can "reach" General before i get my hands on black ops. Since i ordered it from gamestop.com and used free shipping, i just might have enough time.

How many cR do you get for playing Gruntpocalypse? Is it still the same? (around 1k)

Is it me or is it hard to finish single player because of the multiplayer? And it's gonna get worse with Black Ops around the corner...

Is it because you can't stop playing multiplayer? If you want to get one level out of the way fairly quickly, here's the link to a speed run of one of my friends on the level Nightfall on Legendary. It's in his fileshare: http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Reach/FileDetails.aspx?fid=9106010&player=HangtimePro

I tend to focus on beating single player on normal in games before getting too sucked in to multiplayer. Usually what I'll do is try to knock out the single player on weekend afternoons, or earlier in the evening on weeknights since most of the people I play multiplayer with don't hop on until 9-10pm etc.

It appears that there is a commendation glitch. I was gold Dome Inspector and it said I had to get to 20,000 head shots for Onyx. I got Onyx with only 8,000 head shots. 8,000 was probably what I actually needed, but it was showing me the wrong target number.

2 more days till black ops!

Can't wait to see how this game fares after that comes out. I'm a huge Halo fan, but this game just isn't resonating with me. CoD should be fun for 2 months, and then I'll move on to Killzone 3 ;)

Ive also noticed that the website and the game sometimes have different numbers you need to reach to get a commendation.

Yeah once i get black ops im going to be playing that a lot. I usually only play one game at a time, so halo will go on the shelf. Not sure if i will even bother doing daily challenges.

I'll definitely play Black Ops for the campaign, but I've never been a big fan of "realistic" shooters when it comes to MP, which is odd, because I usually love their single-player modes. Outside of Bad Company and Bad Company 2, I stick mostly to more sci-fi shooters, like Resistance, BioShock 2, and now Halo.

Holy s*8t you were #1 on the NG2 leaderboards?! That's amazing!!
And I'm still a Captain Grade 3. :\

Wow i reached the online credit limit. But i only made around 46k today. Yesterday i made 57k. Sucks im only 3k away from Brigadier grade 3. Only 62 more Jack of all trade medals and ill get onyx. Not a good time to reach the limit. :(

What do you do for all those credits? G-poc?

I'm in the same boat as all of you with Black Ops coming out. I need to finish this singleplayer up because if I get black ops, I won't be touching this game for a while. I kind of want to get the full 1k in it soon. Only 4 more levels to go.

Edit - And after double checking, it looks like I only have 3 missions left :). Hmm... I'm not looking forward to flying around on Legendary in New Alexandria, but whatever. I might just get Legendary done tomorrow.

Finally reached Lt. Col last night which put me at 1,000 achievement points after I bought my bionic arm. Glad to get that done before the map pack. Now to go put some real time into Rock Band 3.

Wow, you definitely jumped ahead of me now. I'm still Captain Grade 1. Determined to finish the grind up to Lt. Col and get that achievement, but it will take a while with Black Ops coming out next week, and me being out of town most of the two weeks after that.

But I'm too close to not finish the grind to get that achievement, and maybe try to knock out a couple more in the campaign, and then off to Goozex with the game. I just don't dig Halo MP that much, and I doubt there will be any Single player DLC so no reason for me to keep it around since I wouldn't buy map packs for this game anyway.
What do you do for all those credits? G-poc?
Nah i dont touch G-poc anymore just because its boring, unless i need to do a firefight challenge. I usually play multiteam that can get me anywhere from 800-1800. Or ill play swat too. Those are the only two modes i usually play lately.

I read the new credit cap is 60,000. Serious why is bungie doing this. First it was a cap on rank, and you could earn like 100-120 credits a day....now they take the rank cap off but cut the credit cap in half. Just let me play the game!

Todays challenges look quick and easy.... which is good because i spend most of my sundays watching NFL.

Jesus 7th Number, you're over 10 days played across all modes already!

Not that there's anything wrong with that. I'm envious of having that kind of free time!

shortly after ppl start reaching the point where they've purchased everything they want or could buy in the armory with cR, you'll start to lose playerbase due to disinterest. sure, ppl say they will stop playing or take a break but sometimes sheer frustration of a cR cap motivates ppl to continue playing. *shrugs* Plus, not everyone can hit the cap or has time to do even try. Again, when you hit the cR cap you're not banned from playing online or offline you just cease to earn cR for playing. In essence you can play til you passout but only be rewarded for so many games.

when life is too easy, you want change.

I agree that people will lose interest once they unlock/buy everything they want to buy in this game but the credit cap thing is just so absurdly stupid and unnecessary.

Bungie said it was so that people who didn't or couldn't play as much as people who no life it could be on a level playing field or some variation of that phrase but when they lift the credit cap, the people who no life it shoot even further up the rank list to the next credit cap.

There's no point, the only thing the credit cap does is make Bungie look amazingly stupid with visual evidence. They are attempting to prolong the life of their game by annoying their players. It doesn't work like that.
