HAPPY NEW YEAR.. Any info about Wii shipments for the first week of 07???

[quote name='Chitown021']I thought I would throw it out there... Any B&M employees heard anything about Wii's coming in this week??[/QUOTE]

Who knows, at this point... I wish we knew something. You think it would be easier to get one after Christmas but it's actually a hell of alot harder.

I just check itrackr every morning at around 7 am, but then again, that's ONLY Target / EB / GS.

Yeah I know with no more Sunday ad deals you just have to be lucky I guess and get there when they're putting them out.

From my experience (this was during my PS3 hunt) the best times to hit the following retailers are as follows:

Best Buy: Be there right at open. If they have them they will be out on the shelves (this was how I got my PS3 several weeks ago).

Target: Generally get their shipments via UPS or FED EX during the day. I was told by a very nice gentleman(especially since I had run into so many people that were jerks to me) in the electronics dept they usually arrive between 11AM to 2:00pm.

Gamestop: Same as Target. They generally get their shipments between 10am and 2pm via FED EX or UPS.

I think he was talking about regular shipments so the Wii will probably get there at a different time due to them shipping via UPS or FedEx.

A Walmart employee told me they get them whenever FedEx delivers them and they stock them immediately. I think Walmarts have different policies from store to store, or at least district to district, so who knows.

Same here, I set iTrackr to check stock at EB/GS, Target, Circuit City, CompUSA, and I set it so I get notifications by e-mail, instantly on my desktop, and text messages on my cell. So far it's all been a big nothing, but I'm not giving up.

How are you getting to check more than just Target / EB?

I think it will do CompUSA too if I expand it to Tampa, but it won't do CC at all.

Oops, sorry, it's doesn't check CC for Wii consoles, looks like they only check CC for PS3s. How can they track CC for PS3s, but not Wii? Doesn't make sense.

I got on the waiting list at an FYE and got mine in less than a week. Just another place that some people forget to look.

I've thought about checking FYE a couple of times, didn't know they had a waiting list. Might check it out now.

No word at TRU, as usual.

To be honest, the only time I know exactly when they come in, is when I'm expecting them for a printed ad. Other than that our shipments have been random (through UPS), anywhere from 3 units to as much as 27.

The last time our store got some in, was the two days following Xmas, nothing since.

UPS does indeed deliver to all TRU's anywhere from 10am-3pm, sometimes as late as almost 3:30/4. We never know what they will deliver though, but for the time being they handle all of our Wii deliveries.

Well I made the rounds this morning in my area. I hit Best Buy right at 10:00AM and nothing. They had a stack of about 20 PS3's in the middle of the video game section but no Wii's. TRU was right next door so I gave them a shot (I saw a DHL delivery truck outside so I thought I had a shot). Went in and messed around for about 10 minutes looking through all of the discount crap hoping to find a few hidden gems (nothing). Right as I wander over to the Wii section I see 2 employees bring a cart of boxes into the area. I thought I had hit the jackpot but they were all PS3's. One of the employees moving the cart saw me and she asked "Would you like a PS3?" I said no I'm looking for a Wii. She just sort of laughed and said "It's funny for a long time everyone wanted the Playstation 3. Now we get them and everyone wants the Wii"

Figures the one time I hit the store right as the shipment arrives and they don't get any. I then went across the highway to Target (nothing) and to Circuit City (nothing). On the way home I stopped off at Gamerush and no luck there either.

For anyone living in KC. All of the stores I hit were in the northland near Metro North Mall. The GR was the one just outside Antioch Mall.

I went to TRU today and they told me they had gotten in 15 at about 10am, but had unfortunately sold out by the time I got there at around 12:30. This was in central NY.

I did the rounds in my very small town this morning as well. I don't have many options, but then again there are less gamers here so it works out.

K-mart - Nothing.

EB- Four of us lined up. When the employee opened the doors he was shocked we were there, since they don't get their shipments until the afternoon (like we knew).

FYE - I recently asked a younger guy there, and he replied "Sometime in March", but I wanted to make sure. I spotted the manager opening the gates, so I thought it'd be better to ask her. It seems like sometime in March is fairly likely. She said they hadn't received any since launch, and they still have ALOT of preorders to fill yet. I remember them putting up generic preorder signs for Wii the day after the name was announced, and was shocked by it. I knew it'd come back to bite them. She said she doesn't expect any on their shelves for two months at least...

Gamestop - This was the most infuriating visit of all. I actually hate asking about the Wii, because I know employees are bombarded by the question over and over. I'm fine with them telling me "I don't know when the next shipment is coming". I believe them when they tell me that. What this woman told me flat out ticked me off. Here's our conversation:

Me: "Did you get any Wii's in today?"
Her: (Snotty attitude) "No..."
- I was ready to leave it at that, and walk away -
Her: (Extremely snotty) "You're not going to get one until March..."
- Notice she didn't say "We're not getting any until March", she said me personally. I thought that was very strange. -
Me: "Why do you say that--why March?"
- Blank stare -
Me: "Do you have preorders to fill yet? Have you started a new waiting list?"
Her: "No just walk ins..."
Me: (Through a sarcastic smile) "Like me..."
- Blank stare -
So I just walk away angrily and for whatever reason I lose it for a second and as I walk I loudly yell "Why the hell did you just make that up!". I turn around and see a few guys smiling back at me, but she didn't seem to hear. I'd be FINE if she said they got word they aren't getting any shipments until March, but that wasn't the case. She was basically saying "Stop coming here, until they are plentiful.", and I bet she gives that response to everyone looking for a Wii. Which is stupid, they bring business to the store nearly everyday. Sure nine times out of ten they aren't going to buy anything besides a Wii, but gamers do make impulse buys from time to time. Anyone else getting this stupid March reply, or was it just this disgruntled lady?

I also hit the Target off of I-35 and Choteau at about 12:30PM. Nothing there. I've read several forums stating Wii's are showing up at Targets and TRUs all across the country.

[quote name='ejgarc']I got on the waiting list at an FYE and got mine in less than a week. Just another place that some people forget to look.[/quote]

I scored 2 Wii-motes and 2 nunchuks (both cheaper than MSRP, FYI) the day after Xmas as FYE. It's definitley an "unmined resource".

[quote name='okwordyoda']Anyone else getting this stupid March reply, or was it just this disgruntled lady?[/quote]

I got it Sunday at a Gamestop

[quote name='Kendal']I don't understand why they are saying March. Nintendo not making them anymore? Didn't think so.[/quote]

I think they've just gotten tired of answering the question so they've decided to tell people March (probably when they believe supply will catch up with demand and they'll be sitting on shelves).

I got "January" when I spoke with the people at Best Buy (this was a few weeks ago). TRU and Target just tell me they have no idea when the next shipment will come in period.

I just got one today around 5:30 pm EST in Union NJ at Toys R Us. Apparantly all the TRUs around me got like a small shipment in.

Funny story really, cause I was just looking for Guitar Hero I bundle (at a different Toys R Us) and they said they got the shipment around noon (got there around 1 and that we just missed it. I was kinda pissed but told my friends about the Wii sighting. They in turn checked out the TRU by them but just as an afterthought around 4:30.. apparantly their TRU got their shipment late and just got them in (6 total). They started to line up and called me. Alls I gotta say is I covered like a good 15 miles on rt 22 (which is a busy ass 50 mph zone highway) in around 10 mins. I happened to get the LAST one! And apparantly from wut my friends were telling me who were waiting for me at the TRU, that no one was around for a good 10 mins. So yea by pure luck and Gods grace that I didnt get killed on that highway I got one =) hehe
Good luck to everyone else.. I am sure ppl will have more Wii stories to come.

PS. and after i got into my car Rent a cops were harrasing me because i peeled into the TRU parking lot and ran into the TRU store. "why were u running into the store?!?"

"To get the F****** NINTENDO WII!!!" - me

I was lucky enough to nab one at TRU yesterday at 10:00 AM (they just got about 20 of them in) when I was picking up some clearance games for another CAG. When I returned at about 12:00 PM to get more clearance games, they were gone. Judging by the various posts on GameFAQS, every TRU in NY got them. They stated there were mountains of them at the TRU in Times Square (though they are probably gone by now).

I was told by Gamestop (in L.A.) that they will continue to get them in, but they never know how many or when. I have decided to give up and resign myself to not getting one until March. I'm tired of asking the same question and getting the same non-response, and tired of repeatedly going to every Target, Best Buy, CC, and TRU in my area in the hopes they may have a Wii for sale. And if I hear "we had them yesterday" one more time I may commit hari-kari.

For any Kansas City CAGers... Second straight day of nothing.

I hit TRU right at 10:00AM (Metro North Mall). They got another shipment of games but no Wii's
Hit Target and CC across the highway... Still nothing.
Hit Best Buy right next door. They had about 12 PS3's (about 1/2 the stack from the day before) but no Wii's.

Also hit the Target off of I-35 and Chouteau (about 10:45AM) still nada.

for those who live or live near by in nyc, everytime i walk by rockefeller center, i see someone with one of those huge bags, most likely caring away a wii (nintendoworld). they get about a 100 a day (estimation), so you have a chance to score one every morning

I just got back from Wal-Mart and saw 3 Wiis behind the glass on an endcap in electronics. I was shocked and almost bought another one, but that's just the shock value getting to me.

I went to 3 Gamestops today. ALL got Wii's in this morning though all sold out in a matter of minutes. Might want to call them if you are looking for one as you never know. They all had plenty of PS3's though if you are looking for one :)

What zipcode is this?

I kinda want to put it into Itrackr to see how reliable it really is.

This one got 3 of them. 62208, EB Games Fairview Heights Illinois

This one got some but Im not sure the exact amount. 62269, Gamestop O'Fallon Illinois

Thanks... apparently Itrackr is a piece of shit because it says neither store got in any.

Wonderful.

When it only covers two stores and it can't even do one of those stores correctly? I'm about ready to give up on the Wii.

Let's not forget every employee is a fucking douchebag when you call about it.

I grabbed one at EBGames today in Birmingham Alabama.....they lasted alot longer than I though. There were 2 left an hour after they opened.

Ok... hit up some stores on my way around town.

TRU - they got a shipment YESTERDAY. The guy anticipates shipments every week, he said they usually come on either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Circuit City - guy said they haven't got a shipment in over a week, but "I'd check back Sunday, if I were you". I ask him "Why? What's so special about Sunday?" and he says "Well, I can't say for sure, you know, we don't know when shipments are coming or anything, but Sunday, that seems like a good day" and he's smiling the whole time. This was a supervisor too, it wasn't some low level drone.

Now, maybe he was bullshitting, or maybe CC is still holding for Sunday dates, I have no clue. Just take it for what it is. I'll check them out on Sunday but I'm not holding my breath.

Got one at EB games at Garden State Plaza Mall in NJ. around 3:30 pm. they got aorund 30 in. Once people saw what they had, a line started to form. Seems like the shipments are coming in now.. I am sure supply will be plenty within a month or so.

Good god, I pre-ordered mine in June, then got a call the day before launch that mine was available for pickup. I go to pick it up, and what do you know, they had to ship it to another store and didn't have mine there. They said they would get another shipment very soon which I was annoyed with, but went along with. Fast forward two months and I am still waiting for my wii, and every time I call to ask they say they're getting it soon. What a joke of a store. Anyone know the CEOs phone number so I can tell him what a joke his stores are? Sorry for the rant, but the frustration has been boiling, and your ease of getting one through them put it a bit over the top.

Hell yeah I finally snagged one!!! The Target in Liberty and off of I-35 and Chouteau both got shipments. As of 11:45AM the Chouteau store had 3 units left and as of 12:30PM the Liberty had 5 stores left. Each had just put them out when I got there. Thanks Itrackr.com for the heads up!!!!! (Info for any Kansas City CAGers out there).

The Chouteau store had some Wii-motes and the Liberty store had some classic controllers for anyone looking for accessories.

Dude, wow, the Itrackr really does work... I dug up your zip code, put it in to see if it works, and sure enough all your Target's got in a shipment. I've been waiting for Target's over here to get one (nothing yet) so this means any day now (hopefully tomorrow) the Target's here will be getting some Wii's!!!!

I was very skeptical that the service worked but sure enough it does! They have it linked in with Target's inventory system somehow and literally as soon as the Wii's are scanned in it knows. Here's the full story of my experience today:

I did my usual rounds of stores at 10:00AM and found nothing (TRU got some nunchucks, nothing at BB or CC). I ran a few errands while I was out and as soon as I got home I checked Itrackr. Sure enough it said one store in my area had them in stock (Target off of Chouteau). I moved the mouse over the clock and it said stock change w/i the last 5 minutes. The store is only 5 minutes away from my house so I grabbed my keys and was out the door.

When I got there I looked and as usual the glass game case was empty. I asked the clerk at the electronics dept and they said they didn't have any and probably wouldn't for some time (your standard vague response). I noticed throughout the store employees were moving carts of boxed merchandise and shelving them so I knew they just got a truck. At that point I witnessed another guy asking about Wii's as well. He had paid for the cell phone alerts so that was why he was there. He said those alerts were accurate and the Wii's were in the building for sure.

The clerk of course gave him the same answer so he asked for the manager. He told the manager he would like a Wii and that he knew they were in stock. The manager said they didn't have any and the last time they were in stock was over two weeks ago. I stepped over to the empty Wii case and was about to give up when the manager came over and handed the other guy a Wii! The manager then said they just got them off of the truck. At this point a third guy had come over looking for a Wii and he mentioned that Itrackr told him they were in stock. The manager said "Sure I will bring them all to the front".

The electronics clerk wheeled a cart full of games and 5 Wii's over (6 minus the one they handed to the first guy). I then returned home and called my friend telling him to get his butt to the store if he wanted one. He was at work and couldn't leave. I looked at Itrackr when I get home and notice now the Liberty Target had an in-stock update within the last 10 minutes. That store is about 10 minutes away so I ran out once again (I wanted to hook my friend up since I was off work).

I got there and ran into the same thing. The case was empty and the employees in electronics had no idea what I was talking about. I asked if they were there but hadn't come off the truck. They said no they had gotten some the day before and weren't expecting more. I knew they had them so I screwed around in electronics for 15 minutes. All of the sudden on of the reps said "Did you say you were looking for a Wii?" They had gotten 2 boxes of 3 each. As he was ringing mine up a call came across from another area of the store. It sounded like management and they said "Apparently people are using some sort of web service and they know when the Wii's arrive in our inventory so they probably won't last long"... This worked so well I knew the Wii's were there before the employees did!

Sorry for such a lengthy post... Bottom line is ITRACKR.COM WORKS!!!

Congrats!! Too bad it doesn't track Best Buy--I have a GC from Christmas I have to use.

Any BB reps here that have any info on shipping? All I get at the local store is the usual vague response.

I hear ya. I have a BB gift certifricate for almost $100 & I have that $40 off $199 coupon from another thread. I was hoping one of those two would get them (only found PS3's at those stores).

[quote name='Chitown021']They have it linked in with Target's inventory system somehow[/quote]If you want to track Target for free, just replace the zipcode below with yours:

http://www.target.com/gp/store-info...9VXBAQ&fresh=0&operation=search&zipcode=29406

You'll see stuff in the source like:

Code:
  tempData = new Array();
  tempData["storeName"] = trim("Asheville South");
  tempData["itemAvailability"] = trim("Out Of Stock");

All itrackr does is hit these types of links periodically and parse the source. If you write your own parser or don't mind viewing the source, you can get much more timely results rather than waiting for itrackr to get around to looking in your neck of the woods.

I threw together a little program that hits Target's site every few minutes, looks for availability, and flings me a text message on my cellphone if a local store has it in stock. No dice yet, tho'.
