just did a search on frys.com and looks like they did a special price and they have the hd-dvd and blu-rays at the $14.99 price. I added a few to the cart and they came up at 14.99
Target has all the BR discs 20% off THIS WEEK ONLY. My store had maybe 15 titles only. HD-DVD is still $19.99 for the lower priced titles at Target.
Please let us know if they run this unadvertised for HD DVD's.
I noticed Best Buy had House of Wax for $18.99....while the rest where $24.99 or more.
Was this in the ad this week?
Seeing the frys.com, but shipping kills it. 6.49 for ground, puts one movie more expensive than Amazon/DDD.
If you buy one movie. I bought 3 and the shipping never went up from 6.49.

It was like 51.00 total for all 3 films, shipping included.

Compare that to the 3 I bought on Amazon, getting free shipping and the 10% off deal - the total was just a few bucks more, and by few, I mean like $2.00.

Yeah, shipping at FRYS.com kinda killed the deal. I would only want maybe T3....possibly one more, but none were really THAT great. Hopefully this is just a sign for HD-DVD deals at other stores eventually.

Just picked up Constantine by PM'ing Frys at Best Buy, the insert states that there will be 50+ warner titles by summer. Pictured are The Matrix and Harry Potter. :bouncy:

Personally, I'm really looking forward to Heat.

I was watching corpse bride and in the previews they showed the matrix and harry potter. I know harry potter is coming out in europe this month so I wonder why we have to wait until summer. Either way its good to know they will eventually be here.

Just ordered Pitch Black HD-DVD from BestPrices for $11.97 shipped using the *new* Google Checkout $10-off-$10 promo discussed in an appropriately-titled thread over in the Video Game Deals forum. I suppose the shipped price would be the same for any of their numerous $18.99 HD-DVDs.

Ooh that sounds damn good. Now to decide if I should get Batman Begins, 2 Fast 2 Furious, or V for Vendetta :whistle2:k Thanks Dah-Dee.

Edit: Here's the link Dah-Dee was refering to: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=116141

I realized you can get the $10 off deal if you just add another CC to your Google Checkout account. I was going to get a HD-DVD, but I passed and got an antenna for my TV to get HD channels since Comcast started charging me for my CableCARD.
Damn, bestprices raised their prices of hd-dvd's....any other sites I can use the $10 google checkout at?
What the heck are you talking about? I just checked and they still have the same crapload of $18.99 HD-DVDs they've had during the last couple months I've been using the Google Checkout promo(s) there. It may be that the price of one particular title you were looking at went up for some reason, but things generally look exactly the same to me. :whistle2:k

I'm going back for more 10-off-10 high-def shopping fun!:bouncy:

LoL, my bad. I didn't realize they had a special page for HD DVD. Do a search for HD-DVD or HD DVD and you'll see why I thought their prices were screwy.

Great Googly (Checkout) Moogly. Again. TSD just posted over in the Video Game Deals forum that Buy.com is now running a holiday special with Google -- $20-off-$50.

Just got 3 HD-DVDs for $42.19 shipped (would have been $51.XX for me at BestPrices -- they're still "only" running the $10-off-$30 deal). Once you've used up the $10-off-$10 at BestPrices, you should head back to Buy.com (unless you have additional Google Checkout accounts/credit cards to qualify for more $10-off-$10).

I just recently bought a PS3 and am intereted in getting a Blu Ray movie or two. What available movies are confirmed to have good transfers? Specifically, how's the Silent Hill BR?

Just made a few orders:
- Constantine HD-DVD & Unleashed HD-DVD, along with a book...$30 and change shipped
- Pitch Black HD-DVD & Riddick HD-DVD, along with a Maxx graphic novel...$30 and changed shipped
- Firefly (complete series) and Children of Mana DS, $40'ish shipped.

This is awesome and all, but damn...between HD movies, console releases, November birthdays, and Xmas...I'm really puttin' a hurting on my CC's.

Probably BUY.com with Google checkout DDD raised the HD-DVD prices.

You can now get the MI-Boxset (HD-DVD) for $43 shipped at buy.com

I still have a hard time paying $15 for a HD-DVD....

wow after seeing mi3 i may be all over that box set.. $15 is reasonable

i also have to buy the fucking supermans.. the old ones got great reviews for them being such old movies. i think they release on the 28th along with superman returns..may pick them up then if deal is still around..

Their not releasing superman 3 and 4 right..its like they erased them from history

I was planning on picking up Superman, Superman II Donner Cut, and Returns on HDDVD, but i have since decided against it because, for some reason, the special features that are on the DVDs are NOT included on the HD DVD versions.

I am not sure the reason for this, other than a future HD DVD double dip.

dont know if i can wait out though.. i know superman returns will definately be a technical masterpiece...(crosses fingers)

The old ones are just damn classics.. reviews say they look the best they ever have and made a good jump in quality for their age

ok some im about to jump on the supermans at buy.com with the google checkout.. pretty damn good..

can someone explain to me though the amazon deal that if you purchase any hd dvd you get 10% off on future orders?
can someone explain to me though the amazon deal that if you purchase any hd dvd you get 10% off on future orders?
In order to activate this discount, you have to initially place one order with 3 qualifying HD-DVD's. Then type HDDISC10 in the promotion entry during checkout. You will immediately get 10% off this initial order.

After that (supposedly takes a few days for this promotion to be activated on your account), all HD-DVD you buy from Amazon will have 10% deducted, regardless of how many you purchase on an order. I would imagine you will see the discount applied on the final checkout page only. And you won't have to type in the promotional code again either.

But you have to make sure that the HD-DVD you buy does have that promotion attached to it. Supposedly some of the combo discs don't qualify. It's stated pretty clearly on each movie's page itself whether it has this promotion attached or not.

This discount is only good for one year on your account.

Works for BD discs too I think.

Other ways to activate this discount is to buy 3 BD movies, or BD or HD-DVD standalone player, or a HDTV. But they use different promotional codes.

thanks.. wow decisions too make now.

i can get all 3 superman movies for $54 at buy.com with google checkout..

i think at amazon it came out to $61 shipped for all 3 after discount

I'll continue to use Google check out until the promotion at buy.com is over.

I'm sure there will be at least 3 hd-dvds that I did not get via buy.com that will still get me the yearlong discount at amazon after i'm done with buy.com

well i broke down and just ordered at amazon.. wanted to make sure that i could take advantage of the promotion in the future..

and its good on br as well.. ( in case that format picks up/hope not)

what im wondering is what are certain movie companies waiting for..

sure the market is small but its there.. when are more companies going to release movies on hd dvd..

i still cant believe that the biggest movie on blueray ( xmen last stand) didnt sell as good as i thought..

i think superman returns will break the top 100 barrier for hd dvd

edit= i was correct.. superman returns on hd dvd isumber 83 on the charts.. wow

It's kinda hard for a movie to run up (Amazon Ranks) if the item is out of stock. X3 has been in and out of stock ever since the PS3's release.

man my amazon order says it doesnt ship till dec 3... how fucking gay

i tried ordering from buycom now and superman returns and superman 2 are "on order"

this sucks

Don't feel bad--someone recommended bestprices.com earlier and I ordered from them on the 20th--an IN STOCK HD-DVD mind you...still has not gotten to me yet. Also the tracking number they sent me says "no record of this item".

fuck bestprices, stick with buy.com with GCO and amazon.

man wtf.. i dont see superman returns on hd dvd in stock anywhere..

went to cc and nothing..their hi def selection is pathetic..

still on order at amazon and buy.com

Picked up Superman HD at Wal-Mart today for $19.99. Wasn't an advertised price, but maybe they will be marking down HD dvd's during the first week like they do normal DVD's.

fuck i was by walmart today.. should have checked it out

did they have the donner cut at that price too?

may just pass by there tomm if they do and cancel my amazon order..

though i dont even recall seeing hd dvd's at my walmart

Most Wal marts don't carry HD DVD or Blu ray. I went to three different wal marts and called an additional two and they all said the same thing.

for some reason i have a feeling that the hd dvd/blueray batch got delayed or did not arrive along with the dvd release

in store pickup shows no bb have it either

Instead of that, I now have in my posession a brand new Ten Commandments musical DVD starring Val Kilmer. fuck that. I hope they at least reimburse me for shipping it back to them and waiting another week.

just as a note, I know that Superman Returns (HD) did not get delayed since I've had it since release day. I bought it at BestBuy for the Fry's advertised price of $29.99. Although I will return it as soon as I get my Buy.com order.;)
