For the most part Warner's releases across both formats have been pretty identical in terms of picture and sound. So you can safely buy on either format.

Also Warner is going to re-release all the HD-DVD combo discs in October as HD-DVD only versions. Unlike the re-releases that Universal did however all extras are expected to be retained on the new HD-DVD only versions. So if you desire to have that flipper disc with the SD-DVD version on the other side be sure to get them while you can.

I might finally pick up "Superman Returns" once the HD-DVD only edition comes out. No need for the SD-DVD side since I already own it on SD-DVD thanks to the Ultimate Superman boxset. :D

Weird, all my buy.com orders got canceled except Warriors of Heaven & Earth (which I haven't seen yet...). Strangely it was the second GCO I did, did one before and two after.
Come on Universal. I want Tokyo Drift on HD-only. Children of Men would be great, too.
I wouldn't be bothered by the combo for "Children Of Men" if I can find an fixed pressing edition.

I'm gonna have to try GCO again since I just realized what good movies are on buy.com for cheap. Untouchables, Warriors, and Goodfellas for 10.15-11.84 shipped on these movies. :bouncy::bouncy::bouncy::bouncy:

edit- Yea just bought all three! Lets hope they all go through

edit2- Blah my Warriors and Goodfellas got canceled, I'll wait a couple days and try again

If you used my advice by using different e-mails, different phone #'s(use your cell, your gf's cell, your house), and spell your name slightly different each time. E instead of an I and you should be good. They probably have an automatic system that checks for these types of things.

Yea Ive used different emails and phone numbers for all of them, but kept my name the same just for credit card verification purposes

I did 4 last weekend, all but 1 got canceled and I tried two more after they were canceled and those got canceled right away too...started using different phone numbers and it didn't work so I think I might be blacklisted >_< Going to try it at work and I might start talking friends and family into letting me give them $7 cash to order stuff for me :)

Gamestop has B2G1 free on used dvds. This also applies towards used blurays if you are lucky enough to even find any at your local EB/GS.

I managed to pick up a copy of Black Hawk Down (17.99 - 10% edge = 16.20), House of Flying Daggers (14.99 - 10 % Edge = 13.50, and got Talladega Nights for free! Total was 29.70 for 3 nice conditioned blurays! I called around other eb/gs but rarely will they have any used blurays in stock. Good luck!
My EB has a ton of used blu-ray discs for sale.
Any HD-DVDs reported at any EB Games? All I can see online is Kong.

Also, does this apply to Movie Stops as well as EB Games?

Nearly all EB & GS's are discontinuing the purchase of dvds. Stores are doing B2G1, B2G2 & B2G3 sales to get rid of stock. They want people to trade into Moviestop rather than GS/EB. Considering that i think theres only 5 states with Moviestops, probably not the best move, but maybe it means theyre going to be opening more locations. Its done wonders for the stock at my local store. All the theives used to spread out their 'loot' across teh EB/GS's in Tampa, now they all trade at one moviestop. The store here usually has Tuesday's new releases 'used' by Weds afternoon.

Moviestop does B2G1 deals every couple of weeks. They usually happen on Tuesdays to celebrate the release of random dvds. The local store here has a constant supply of 50% off any dvd $12 or under coupons. They print them on regular paper so i just make copies for however many i need.

Yo, its punkyngo again. Heres some pretty good bluray titles for a decent price on Bestbuy.com

black hawk down 13.99
kung fu hustle 13.99
house of flying daggers 13.99
underworld 17.99

Sorry i cant provide a direct link. That requires too much work :D

Buy.com has Planet Earth for $56.94 shipped after GCO.

HD Version

BR Version

For anyone who still has some transworld credit to burn. FYE has added tons of used BR & HD movies ranging from $9.99 to $21 (most being $15.99). Below are some other deals on pre-orders/newer releases:

Deliverance - $12.99 after $7 MIR
Nip Tuck S4 - $45.99 after $10 MIR
Top Gun - $15.99 after $7 MIR

[HD]
Freedom Vol 2 - $25.49
For the Love of the Game - $20.95
Meet the Fockers - $19.99
Smallville S6 - $45.99 after $10 MIR
The Last Starfighter - $20.95
TMNT - $20.99 after $7 MIR

[BR]
Beowulf & Grendel - $19.49

Halloween - $19.49

Free shipping with $25 purchase. Their MIR's are a lot more dependable than they used to be. I got my confirmation receipt a few days after i sent the rebate in. Unfortunately they still tag on that lame 6-8 week turnaround time.
I haven't seen HD-DVDs sold at Gamestop and EB Games. I just bought a HD-DVD player so that would be a good thing if they start.
Its only if they get them traded in

Weird, i could've sworn it said the HD version was $12.99 after rebate. I fixed my post.

I don't know if I'd bother with this price. Not only does Amazon have the individual titles for cheaper at $19.99, their showing the entire Kubrick collection which appeart to have all 5 movies for $56. That's $11.20 per HD-DVD, $10.10 if you have the 10% of HD-DVD/BRD discs.

Has there been any news on a rerelease of Black Hawk Down? It's one of my favorite movies, but I've already got two copies on DVD.

And when's Shaolin Soccer coming to HD? It's from a Blu-Ray backing studio, I'm guessing?

That kubrick box set is the SD DVDs. There isn't going to be a box set for HD/BD.

gg Amazon on listing that in the HD-DVD section then.

The reason why im posting about FYE is you can easily get $16 store credit for less than $2. Otherwise their prices usually arent worth it. Also, that Kubrick collection you linked is the regular dvd version.

man too bad i dont care for any of those movies on sale at bb...

heres hoping they have a deal on prestige or shooter soon...unless anyone on here wants to sell their copy
How?
Flipping. EB/GS sell NBA Starting Five (PS2) for $1.99 ($1.79 after edge). Transworld stores pay either $13.20 cash or $16.20 credit for it. Their site has a store locator for the game that has been pretty accurate for me.

People frown upon flipping, but theres a lot worse tactics out there (such as Walmart returning). I doubt any kids are going to go home crying when they're not able to find a crappy basketball game from 2002 at their local Gamestop.
Black Hawk Down re-release? What are you talking about?
I wasn't saying there was one. I was asking whether anyone's heard if there was going to be one with more features. Wasn't it one of the leading BD-50 releases for the company? I guess I'm just conditioned from the DVD days of companies double-dipping on popular movie releases.

I was able to get Kung Fu Hustle on Blu-Ray price matched at CC (closest Best Buy is about 30 some miles away from me, in a different town) for $13.xx.

I did also ended up picking up black hawk down. For 14 dollars its worth it for me

Whats a good site that you can list your collection of bluray movies and games?

Picked up black hawk down at BB, was the last copy an dthey didnt have any of the other 13.99 movies or i wouldve grabbed them as well. migh thave to try and PM at CC. Any 13.99 BR movie is hard to turn down.
fuck yes!

Edit: Placed my order 57.99 after CA Tax and Rebate. Thanks Cleaver!!!
i honestly dont see that as too great of a deal.. im still holding out.. i wonder what stores are going to offer

Hmmm...guess I should have done my research...I could have sworn the MSRP was $89.99...now I'm debating wether I should cancel or not...:whistle2:k

Reason #1,000,000 why we miss speedy.
I'm thinking it'll be $70 at stores, best case.

I decided just to order Kung Fu Hustle and House of Flying Daggers from BestBuy.com. They had Free Ground Shipping and would save me a trip which would actually cost me more money in tolls and gas to a local store that had them in stock.

Plus i also had a $15 BB gift card that i used so i got both movies shipped with tax for $14.xx no to bad.

well according to the bb ad, its listed as 99.99

Best Buy let me use the $40 off $199 coupon (ala Circuit City) towards the 360 HD DVD player :) Got the $34.99 300 movie free too! Too bad I forgot all about those $15 blu-rays, I would've picked up a few of those instead of buying Heroes of Mana for $30 (to fill up the $199..)
