Imports Links: Exclusive Titles and Suggestions:
Anybody interested in imports, EzyDVD is doing a 2 for 50 (or 25 a pop) sale for Universal titles.

http://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?pid=647&ddat=1&dsal=1&dper=1

Import exclusive titles include

Rambo 1-3
The Holiday
Total Recall

And there is also non-combo versions of

Children Of Men
Smokin' Aces
American Werewolf In London
Miami Vice

for you combo haters.

The really nice thing is that the AUD is weaker than the US dollar. So I was able to grab Rambo: First Blood for only 27.23 AUD (US $22.39)

All 5 Potter movies are rumored for a November release.

- edit Looks like I was wrong.

They are set for December 11th.

As the studio has done with several recent high-profile titles, however, the Blu-ray and the HD DVD editions will not be created equal.

Not unlike the recently-released '300' and 'Blood Diamond,' the HD DVD edition of 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' will contain a trio of exclusive bonus features,
including a "In-Movie Experience" video commentary featuring "the cast from Dumbledore's Army coming together to share memorable moments," the ability to "Pick Your Favorite Scenes" and assemble your favorite clips from the movie into a montage, and additional web-enabled content including downloads and other goodies to be announced.

Nice.

Buy Star Trek: TOS HD DVD and a Toshiba HD DVD player, get an uber-rare Phaser remote

If you somehow managed to hold off on picking up a Toshiba HD DVD player along with eight free titles, and you eat, sleep, and breathe Star Trek, we've got a feeling your resistance is futile. In an admittedly interesting promotional move, Toshiba has teamed with CBS to offer those who purchase Star Trek: The Original Series HD DVD box set and any Toshiba HD DVD player a "limited edition Star Trek Phaser remote" that will operate Tosh's HD DVD players. Regrettably, there's no mention as to how many of these things will actually be handed out, but if you're even remotely (ahem) interested, we'd be on the ball as soon as the set lands.

I hope some of those Warner Pre-orders come up by the end of the month, theres a lot of stuff that I really want.

i think they are used hd dvd's

Yea, everything Secondspin sells is used. They are extremely anal about the quality of discs they'll take in. Their site states "if there are scratches, even if the disc still plays, your trade in will be rejected". The only thing that sucks about them is sometimes they slap a huge 'USED' sticker on the front, leaves a lot of residue if you dont have anything to remove it with.

Does anybody know if Best Buy price matches Amazon?

I was there last night trying to get an Toshiba A2 HD-DVD player for the Amazon price ($239) because BB is offering two free movies with purchase of the player, plus the five free ones. The guy there, who seemed kind of like a prick (probably because it was closing time) said they don't price match online retailers. Has anyone been able to do this and what is the secret to your success?

So if anybody can get BB to price match Amazon, you can get 7 free movies with an A2 player. I know the A3 comes out soon (packaged with Bourne and 300) with a new set of five free movies, but there's no guarantee that the player will be on sale anytime soon.

Still waiting on Transformers...was it DVDPacific.com that usually sends discs a few days before release date? I might have to go with them if thats the case.

I think he's right. Looks like Black Rain to me. My first guesses were Sky Captain & Lucky # Slevin, but the angle on the name is facing the other way.

Nice to see some good movies on the list. Ill probably wait for that deal to replace my 360 addon. Who knows, a retailer might add on even more free hd-dvds.

Sweet...they don't have it for preorder yet, but I'll mostlikely get it there then.

From what I understand, the people that got their stuff really early were only people that used their fastest shipping method as well.

is hulk considered a hero or is he a bad guy
From what I understand, the people that got their stuff really early were only people that used their fastest shipping method as well.
Nah, I had them ship either USPS First Class or Priority (can't remember)

It just seems like they ship out whenever they get it in stock instead of waiting for the street date.

That is very cool, but I have a feeling they will eventually get in trouble and stop doing that. I just hope it isn't on our shipments when it happens.

Also, what's the easiest way to find just their HD DVDs? Edit: Nm, I found the littleimage on the left.

And are their prices similar to Amazon?
And are their prices similar to Amazon?
No.

You pay the cost to get them early.

It was $79.79 after shipping for my Hot Fuzz, Shaun Of The Dead and The Host shipment and even worst I got charged $4.34 in tax on top of that even though it was never listed on their order screen or in my final total.

Then they had the nerve to get pissy with me in email like I was suppose to know that a place called DVDPacific was based in Florida.

Overall, I would avoid them unless you really wanted the specific movie early (like I did with Hot Fuzz)
New preorders are up over at Warner's store.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ($22.95) = http://whv.warnerbros.com/WHVPORTAL/Portal/product.jsp?OID=29420
Ocean's Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen Giftbox ($59.95) = http://whv.warnerbros.com/WHVPORTAL/Portal/product.jsp?OID=29333

Remember there is a 25% off code so after coupon it knocks the prices down to $17.21 and $44.97 respectively.
Does Warner grab the cash upfront before they are shipped?? I would do it but I dont want to drop more cash right after the amazon b2g1 and hd-dvd stand alone offers i just spent money on.

They put a hold on the money just to make sure it's in your account and then it disappears after a few days.

If you preorder really early, every other month they will place a hold/make it disappear.

Don't ask me why. I just know they've done it to me 3 times since preordering A Room With A View/Galapagos July 13th.

They don't actually take your money until it ships.
