before you got your next-gen system?
now that next-gen is settled in...

i bought about 25-30 games
and loved everyone of them with a few exceptions

0... Never had a PS2.

But since I bought my PS3, I've picked up almost 15 PS2 games.

And two PS3 games. Which I have yet to play.

83, half of which i probably never even touched. damn addiction to my online shooters prevents me from ever playing these games. i have a worse habit with the 360 already (i am up to 137 with more still on the way to my house now). i have actually played about 20-30 of them.

Probably somewhere around 100... Only 50 or so at a time and I think I played 99% of all my games at some point in time.

I've got around 20, but i've sold/traded a few here and there. PS2 is still my second fav system there is (my DC is my favorite).

theres 137 games on the 360 worth purchasing?... I didn't know there were that many 360 games?.. I figure theres only around 20-30 i'll want..

i probably have around 50 PS2 games.. the majority of which i have played not many of them held my interest for too long though to finish them.

I had about 20-30 PS2 games before I found cheapassgamer. Most of them bought at full price, including such stinkers as Auto Modellista and State of Emergency.

Now I have over 200. Lots of sealed ones too, but not because I collect them that way, I just dont open games until Im ready to play them. And my average price per game is well under $20.

I havent stopped either, with great and cheap releases like KoF XI, NGBC, Fire Prowrestling, etc, and Im always on the lookout for good ps2 games that I missed when they were first released. I finally found a mint copy of Futurama just a couple of weeks ago. Ive bought more PS2 games than 360 games in the last few months.

I've probably bought about 30-40 PS2 games, but own more Xbox games currently, though my PS2 collection is slowly catching up.

I'm still NOT into the next gen, probably won't be for a couple more years really, but when I do, I know I'll be looking for deals on CAG so I'll NEVER pay full price again.

Although, if FYE or another store would take my old hardware and most of my games(cept for maybe the GTA's and God Of Wars for PS2) and I got enough for a next gen system, I'd do it in a second.

I'm not all about having a 'collection', cept for the older stuff(PS1, Genesis, etc).

I have purchased close to 100 PS2 games. That said, I have had over 200 games pass through my collection and am now sitting with about 20 keepers - 15 of which belong to my wife.

It's just so easy to wheel and deal on the forums. Thank you CAG!

Kept around 30 of mine. Had well over 200 games get through my collection throughout the years, just didn't have the time to play many of them. I kept my RPG games, Gran Turismos, and some other oddball games.

Currently have God of War 1 and 2 coming in the mail! (already beat GoW1, borrowed from a friend before, now I decided to buy it)

Now I'm mostly looking for rare PS1 RPG's like my recent purchases of Lunar 1, Lunar 2 and Rhapsody.

Gotta love Sony! Over 10 years of fine gaming (at least for me)!

I'm in the same boat with both parts. I have over 90 Xbox games, but around 50 PS2 games although it is catching up.

As for next-gen, not even thinking of upgrading. The only system in my price range is basically a souped-up version of a console I have with unconventional controls that I've tried & hate. I'll just wait until I can get a new console for under $200(I don't bother buying used consoles) & most games can be picked up really cheap.

Oh my gosh. I don't see how you guys have that many PS2 games. I mean there aren't THAT many good games for PS2 (at least IMO). If you're a collector I guess it's cool though. I collect games, but only those worth playing, heh. I have around 20 at the moment, more to come for sure.

It depends on what kind of games you like. I can name at least 50 off the top of my head that are worth owning. With a little time, I'm sure I could put that to over 100.

The PS2 has more games to choose from than any other system released. If you can't find more than 20 games to play on it, then you are either a) the pickiest gamer I've heard of or b) not looking hard enough.

There's TONS of great PS2 games, before I got 360 and Wii (if that "counts" as next gen) I think my total was somewhere around 120 or so.

But PS2 easily ftw for game selection in general.

I bought over 250 throughout the years. I now own 141. Great console (although PS1 is still my favorite because of certain RPGs). I pretty much stopped buying PS2 games and don't play it anymore (since I got a PS3 and other consoles).

*embarrassed* lol yeah..i had ps2 for a long time and well i used to rent the games but i have 21 games in total. the games i do regret buying is all of the sims games and Spiderman 2. The rest like KH 1 & 2 with MK:Shaolin Monks with god of war and such really did keep me stuck on ps2 for a while. I changed my game strategy with ps3 however, but i still stick some Ps2 discs in my Ps3 :p

i've only had my ps2 for about a year and a half i think..bought a fat one used so i could play kh2. i own 10 games for it (one of which is a ddr that came with it that i've never played) and three of them are ones i've bought since getting next gen consoles. there's still atleast a few more that i want to pick up. it's far from dead for me.

Right at 100 at the moment...I am so far behind too that it will take a very long time before I beat them all, if ever.

Well Ive had my PS2 for a very long time now and just recently I started buying alot of games for it, just catching up on stuff I missed. As of right now I have 60 PS2 games. I would say that at least 25 of those were purchased within the past 3 months. I still have many more to go but Im going to take a break from that right now. I just have too many games I havent even played yet.

I think I am at over 50 games. I think my PS2 games have surpassed my GCN games. But that is what happens when I find games I want on PS2 for under $10. I haven't been that lucky with the GCN.

Somewhere around 30-50. Only about 5 or so duds, it's an awesome platform and prolly haven't enjoyed a J console this much since the SNES.

I have 102 games right now. A lot that are still sealed. I don't buy just cheap games (well if I do I usually just trade them in), but games that look interesting to me.
Almost 500 PS2 games. 90% of them still brand new & sealed :)
I'm so glad I'm not the only one... not that I have 500 ps2 games, but I doubt I've played 10% of the stuff I have!

I had a ps2 but never had that maybe games for it til I got a ps3... I had maybe 15 before - at least double that figure now and growing rapidly.
